I have frequent PVC's (often with bigeminy) and I also have lots of reflux problems. I have been getting a lot more PVC's the past couple of weeks. I switched from Toprol XL to generic Metoprolol, and I I don't know if that has had any affect. I have also had increased reflux issues during this time. I am getting more PVC's and bigeminy than normal and am noticing it most when I lean forward, especailly while eating. Does this sound like the PVC's are coming from reflux?
I have read a number of blogs including this one that indicate that hair loss is a side effect yet the Wellbutrin trials only listed hair loss as a side effect for less than 1% of patients. Given the U.S.
our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs,the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
I am a 55 yo white male who suffers from depression and moderate anxiety/ADD. Have been on Wellbutrin 300 XL for the last 5 yrs.and went from 223 to 158, waist size 40 down to a 32 (haven't been 32 since teen ager). In addition I take Requip for restless leg syndrome and AndroGel for hormone replacement (very low testosterone). I think that those 3 meds have contributed to the weight loss.
I just discovered this after 3 months of total misery, 7 different doctors, multiple tests, 1 hospitalization, 16 pound weight loss, almost lost my job, etc., etc., etc.. I want to know if this will have permanent effects on my body and heart and will I ever be the same again. I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now.

I didn't know Effexor had a generic already. I was taking this until December 2009, and I was getting the brand name only- for 37.5, 75, and 150 mg capsules.
You really would have to try both to see if one truly works best for you.
This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney,liver,congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to neuro.
Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Akathesia is a temporary movement disorder that can be caused by some medications. Tardive dyskinesia is a long term movement disorder that appears similar but is long term. My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
