I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.
2 months later, dyskinesia occurred in tongue/jaw, drooling returned. Sinemet dosage then was decreased to 2 per day 25/250 (9am, 2pm), Requip 0.125 (9pm). Dyskinesia improved. 1.5 month ago, teeth grinding started day and night. She is now taking 3 per day sinemet 25/175, 25/175, 25/100 (9 am, 1pm, 5:30pm), and Requip 0.125 every other day(9pm). Teeth grinding improved 50% at least (5:30pm sinemet uses low dosage because it looks like impact her falling into sleep even with Rozerem.
Half of the time they turn into full blown migraines. I am on a medicine to help prevent them, that seems to work only part of the time. I also have Imitrex to take just in case. I have a lot of joint pain. It started in my hips. I was told I have bursitis because it gets so bad I can barely walk sometimes. I have had cortisone injections to help with it. Those work for a short time only. My joint pain has now moved to my knees, ankles and shoulders.
Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0.
Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too?
I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
I am 80 yaer old, my doctor diagnosed my case as Restless Leg Syndrome. The symptoms had started three years ago. I would like to know what is the newest up to date medicine. I'm using (Pramipexole) but I suffer a dizziness side effect. I need your help to use a medicine which have not such side effect. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have RLS ( Restless Leg Syndrome). If it feels like you cannot strech your legs enough, your legs jerk at night, can't control them and so forth. They can do a sleep study on you to detect this. I take requip every evening before I go to sleep and it is sooooo helpful.
Ask about it with you physician or neurologist. RLS cannot be detected by eeg or any other study but only by a sleep study.

This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney,liver,congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to neuro.
Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Hello team! I'm preparing for my big quitting day, October 1! I know some of you folks will question why I set a date, but I have learned from past experieinces that you have to plan for this challenge. My questions is, can anyone tell me what it means when something has "moderate in vitro affinity for opioid receptors"??
I want to try Requip for the terrible RLS I get during wihdrawals.
It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive!
On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help.
If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
i had a HORRIBALE bout w RLS and still have it everynight at 31 days clean... it is a pain... there is a medicine called Requip that is specifically for RLS it is non addiciting i have taken it in the past and it helped it doesnt so much help me w the rls from w/d's well i cant say that i think it has calmed it down ALOT i think i would be WAY worse w out it... u can go to a convinient care and have it prescribed if he doesnt have a dr... i would def try it..
Today was my big 10! I feel great. I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
I started taking Requip last year for RLS. I just happen to mention to my doctor that I had leg pain during the night. She had given me a trial pack but left it at home when I went to my daughters for the weekend. I had only been taking it a few days and when I didn't have it to take I thought i was dying. It is like I am addited to this drug. I can't come off of it. I have started having shooting pains in my legs and find that I am having to take it more often.
I HAVE ORDERED MY ALINIA, SKELAXIN AND REQUIP FROM CANADA. YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A VALID SCRIPT. ON MY REQUIP AND SKELAXIN I JUST CAREFULLY PEELED LABELS AND COPIED THEM AND FAXED IN. I USE PROGRESSIVE RX. JUST GO TO THEIR WEBSITE. FROM WHAT I RESEARCHED THIS ONE IS CHEAPEST, SEEMS TO BE ON THE UP AND UP.
Been pretty good besides two sleepless night do to restless leg. Went to doctor today and gave me requip for that so we will see how tonight goes. Best of luck to everyone out there! Say a prayer every chance you get for me!
The only relief I get is with Requip. I have to keep it in my system. Of course I stay drowsy all the time and have occasional nausea. I have tried other drugs but none have worked. My neurologist said that they are from lesions in my spinal cord. My question is: has any one else experienced this and have they found relief from other means without the bad side effects? The jerking movements are very violent and I feel desperate at times. Please help if you can.
My boyfriend is trying to detox from percocet 30mg we went to the hospital they gave him adivan and some nausea medicine and he is having a hard time he is going crazy is there anything else he can do to help?
I need to get off aand people tell me soboxon is the only way but that is addictive. I want to stp on my own. Also have restless leg syndrome. Will requip help with that? Wha can i do?

I HAVE RLS FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM ON 3MG REQUIP AND 1 MG KLONPIN, THAT HAS BEEN HELPING UP TO NOW. I DISCOVERED THAT MY THYROID IS VERY LOW. COULD THAT BE WHY MY RLS IS GETTING WORSE. I REALLY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! WHAT OTHER MEDS ARE HELPFUL. I REALLY HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN MY LEGS ALSO. THANKS FOR AMY HELP.
