Avatar f tn It might be advisable for you to try to find other medications for your anxiety and your insomnia; several of the anti-anxiety and insomnia medications do make RLS worse, but others do not. Your episodes of waking up with several uncomfortable symptoms may be panic attacks, but there are several other possibilities. It sounds like you have several symptoms and problems related to sleep, and you might find benefit from evaluation at a Sleep Disorders Center.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried Requip for Restless Legs while trying to detox off of Subutex or Suboxone? This is the worst part for me in trying to get off of Subutex & I am literally scared sh**less of them. I had them so bad that I almost over-dosed on Klonopin & Somas (from a family member) to rid myself of them. I am on less than 1 mg of Subutex a day now & having anxiety & diarrhea. That I can handle, but the RLS I can not. Any advice or experience would be great!
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Requip for RLS, which I had so bad with my Tramadol withdrawal, I would rock and bounce for hours during both the day and night. I had RLS for at least 6 hours or more a day for almost a month. I took the Requip for the first 40 days, now I take it 2x a week. My doc said after I hit 2 months or more off the opiates, we can talk about me jumping off the Requip all together.
1390101 tn?1281000559 I was also on exflexor for my anxiety and ween myself off of that. I figure a combination of both are probably the cause of waking up and not being able to say asleep. Now that my body is clear of both drugs my anxiety is extremly high , I refuse to go back on exflexor, I started taking a B100 and it appears to help for the anxiety however I am really sleepy during day so I'm going to try taking it before bed, see if that will help me sleep thought the night.
Avatar n tn all took requip for restless legs Valium for anxiety and clonidine for blood pressure and morphine for pain 30mg god help all of us and god touch our minds
Avatar n tn Have been taking Lexapro 20 mg for about a year and very much improved. Unable to acieve orgasm even with erection. How long does thia side effect last after weaning off Lexapro with doctor's approval???
Avatar n tn Afterr four weeks severe anxiety returned becoming worse each day for five days. I quit the Requip at that point and felt 80% reduction of that severe anxiety each morning, so that after 3 days off Requip, I felt great. But the sixth and seventh day I became extremely nervous, excitable, too overreactive to ANY stimuli.
Avatar f tn our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs, the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn Been pretty good besides two sleepless night do to restless leg. Went to doctor today and gave me requip for that so we will see how tonight goes. Best of luck to everyone out there! Say a prayer every chance you get for me!
Avatar n tn Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0. Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too? I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
Avatar f tn My current sleep doctor feels that Sinemet, a dopamine replacement, should be reserved for use after dopamine agonists such as Requip and Mirapex are no longer useful. I can give you a few hints on optimizing the effectiveness of your Sinemet rather than keep raising dose: No protein to eat unless long enough before dose for the food to have already passed thru the small intestine. Small amout of starchy food food can help when taking med, but no large amounts of food before taking the med.
Avatar f tn There is so many problems regarding my mom but I will try to just touch on what is happening. She is suffering terribly with RLS. My mom has been treated for close to 30 years with numerous antidepressants. She has severe OCD, bipolar, and anxiety disorder. She is currently on 200 mg of Zoloft...in addition to Depekote, and Klonopin. Her RLS was being treated with a very high dose of Requip but has recently been switched to something else; some sort of patch. Nothing is working.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc for Requip...it is used for restless leg syndrome. There are a few other meds that could possibly help...one of them being Neurontin. Talk to your doc about it....Other than that, I used a heating pad that wrapped around my legs for that wanting to move constantly feeling...it helped some...not alot, but some. Valium will not help for this.
135456 tn?1301437624 I have been seeing a psychiatrist for it but anti-depressants don't touch the panic or anxiety and the only temp relief I get is from the 2x's a day xanax I take but these only last for about 4 hours. Before my numerous hep c treatments I never experienced panic or anxiety and don't no what to do next . I can't live like this. Anyone have suggestions on other long lasting anti-anxiety meds available besides the antidepressants. Thanks in advance.
Dog But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.
Avatar f tn I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
Avatar f tn It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive! On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help. If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
Avatar f tn Just gave 2 excedrine pm.. Does anyone know how much Requip needed?
Avatar f tn Today was my big 10! I feel great. I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
Avatar f tn s and put me on Requip. But I do have an appointment at the Henry Ford Clinic in Detroit, MI on the Neurology Unit for a 7-10 day stay consisting of a 7 day EEG and other tests. They are going to take me off my epilepsy medications, and all medications and see what my brain does off everything. That's why I need to be hospitalized to do it because the risks are very high or reactions to that. But, at least they will hopefully be able to rule things out or get to the root of things.
Avatar n tn I started taking Requip last year for RLS. I just happen to mention to my doctor that I had leg pain during the night. She had given me a trial pack but left it at home when I went to my daughters for the weekend. I had only been taking it a few days and when I didn't have it to take I thought i was dying. It is like I am addited to this drug. I can't come off of it. I have started having shooting pains in my legs and find that I am having to take it more often.
Avatar f tn You can try asking a physician to prescribe you some Requip for restless legs, Clonidine for blood pressure and general anxiety control and maybe get some over the counter Valerian for sleep and sedation. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months. Thus, it is not easy, but it gets better and better over time and you can look forward to a drug free healthy energetic you in the future. Take a look at my blogs about options for detox and recovery.
