Avatar m tn I am a 30 year old female, married with 4 kids. I have had so many health problems lately, and so many diagnosis, that I am starting to wonder if it is something else? I feel like there is no way I have all these things wrong with me! That and the treatments never seem to work. Here are my problems. Migraines-I get headaches almost on a daily basis. Half of the time they turn into full blown migraines. I am on a medicine to help prevent them, that seems to work only part of the time.
Avatar n tn Hi! Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain problem. It is not something you can cure. The symptoms can be treated and the pain controlled somewhat. It does not progress. Some medications that can help with the pain are Lyrica (PreGablin) and Neurontin (Gabapentin). Both of these are helpful and which one is better depend on the person. So if you have fibro you could ask your doctor about these. I hope that this answers your question a bit. If you have more questions feel free to ask.

Since 2005, suffered "episodes" of sudden onset of numbness/weakness both arms, accompanied by "tghtness" around lower rib cage-radiating from mid-back spine. Avatar f tn I hope you will check out our Health Pages (located to the right of your screen). Many of the fibromyalgia experts have their treatment plans online and I posted those links. There are also pathogen killing treatments... fairly new and without controversy, but the success stories are impressive. Also.. here are some other links that may be helpful to you. You may want to consider printing any information that you think may be of help to you and sharing it with your physician(s). Good luck !
230948 tn?1235844329 m on fentanal patches 100 (opiod) lyrica clonazapam sertraline and now requip when i talked more about my rigdid muscles and the pain and loss of mobilty they suggested i had myofascial pain syndrome on top of the fibro and that might be blocking the way the drugs are working, they say this can be treated with a specialist physio and triggar point injections.
867787 tn?1318936230 I saw my PCP today & calmly confronted him on my lack of care. He ordered a MRI of my brain & cervical spine but have to check & see which hospitals offer financial aid programs & I'm also still hoping the MSAA comes through. He prescribed me Cymbalta & said it was good for nerve pain. I was wondering if any of you have tried this & if so did it help & are there any side effects I should be aware of?
Avatar f tn our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs, the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I also have severe RLS (restless leg syndrome (in my arms and legs)) I wonder if I don't also have CFS. I am in such pain all the time and I am exhausted all the time. I noticed several people who post questions about Fibro mention that they have RLS also. I wonder if the two don't go hand in hand?
689327 tn?1240229164 Hi, I take Requip. The Rheumy gave me a script on Monday and I have had 2 of the best nights sleep in many months. It was well worth going to the doc and telling him that my legs were falling off, but I am fortunate that my Rheumy really listens to me and he doesn't rush in and out.
Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
Avatar f tn This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney, liver, congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to  neuro.
Avatar f tn Pain/tingling/numbness etc in the limbs of one half of the body can also be due to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, severe anemia, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritic changes of the vertebrae, calcium deficiency, low Vit D, parathyroid gland problem or electrolyte disturbance.
Avatar f tn This seemed to be the beginning of my fibromyalgia. I explained this to my doctor and I was put on neurontin and it helped. I then got the muscle and joint pain and the whole bag of other symptems. Check into fibromyalgia.
691935 tn?1421027090 I can't live without Requip for RLS. It is way worse after treatment than it was before. I used to be able to get to 7 pm before the crawling and twitching began. Now it's hitting around 4:30 - 5 pm, just as I'm finishing work. I found that making sure my feet are warm helps a lot until the Requip kicks in. Someone (an old nurse who favors homeopathics) also suggested unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar in water 2x a day for restless leg.
Dog Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
Avatar f tn I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Avatar m tn ie restless leg syndrome ifs the one I fear the most. How long does this last? I am prescribed requip for RLS but am most scared of it. I can't stand one moment of it. I have fibromyalgia and I think it amplifies it for me. Tapering off tramadol....
1542096 tn?1293162924 Right now I am just waiting for more thourough testing, but I do have Fibromyalgia and possibly MS. All my blood tests are in the normal range and I am not anemic. I do have some of those medications on hand for other reasons, and tried using the clonaepam but it made me really drowsy, and I tried the neurontin, that does seem to help alot I was hoping that one of my PRNs could be tried.
Avatar f tn It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive! On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help. If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
Avatar f tn Today was my big 10! I feel great. I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
Avatar f tn Just gave 2 excedrine pm.. Does anyone know how much Requip needed?
Avatar n tn Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0. Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too? I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
