I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.
My current sleep doctor feels that Sinemet, a dopamine replacement, should be reserved for use after dopamine agonists such as Requip and Mirapex are no longer useful.
I can give you a few hints on optimizing the effectiveness of your Sinemet rather than keep raising dose: No protein to eat unless long enough before dose for the food to have already passed thru the small intestine. Small amout of starchy food food can help when taking med, but no large amounts of food before taking the med.
I'm at the point where the rls and insomnia are driving me crazy! I'm working 12 hour days and maybe sleeping 2 hours a night in 30 minute increments. I have tried everything I can think of. I'm starting to have little micro hallucinations. HELP!
Afterr four weeks severe anxiety returned becoming worse each day for five days. I quit the Requip at that point and felt 80% reduction of that severe anxiety each morning, so that after 3 days off Requip, I felt great.
But the sixth and seventh day I became extremely nervous, excitable, too overreactive to ANY stimuli.
It sounds like you have been diagnosed with RLS and requip worked for you well until it was determined to be causing side effects, and you were switched to Sinemet. One known side effect of Requip is swelling in the legs; it sounds like you had an extensive evaluation for all the symptoms you began experiencing after January 2008.
Sinemet works well for RLS symptoms, but has a higher risk of eventually causing what is called augmentation, or the occurrence of symptoms earlier in the day.
It is supposed to be worse after long night without sinemet (requip 0.125 is given every other night and no significant distinguish between with and without it) Sinemet suppose to make motion better and it DID make her better before. Or Dyskinesia completely overridden others (but the Dyskinesia is happened in the jaw/tongue and I don't see any tremor in legs/feet)
I tried to find a logic explanation, but no luck! Can this imply sinemet is no good for her anymore?
I took requip for about five years - worked, no problem. Then about 4 months ago, I started getting, out of the blue and for no obvious reason, anorexia, nausea, and finally light stomach ache. After a lot of investigative stuff, including an EGD, my gastroenterologist discovered the cause: I had become allergic to requip. Just a note of caution.
Recently she has been experiencing panic-type attacks and possible hallucinations. The doc says her Synthroid levels are not too high--that was her first thought--but I wonder. Has anyone else experienced hallucinations due to hormone imbalance?
m on a lot less dosage now than I was when I was first prescribed it and I had really itchy skin and hallucinations/fits of giggles when I first started taking the higher doses (100mg every 6 hours) but it settled within a few weeks and then I started to drop to twice a day unless I had a flare up. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on how to cope with these horrible twitchy limbs and insomnia!
requip during the day and 2 mg. requip at night along with klonopin and other sleep aids. I just split my head open walking around the house unawares. 6 stiches and broken lamps. I asked my doc about early onset of parkinson's.........is this what they go thru? I haven't slept a 7 hour night in at least 8 years. No bs. Usually I sleep 2-4 hours. I'm trying to get some barbituates from overseas because I'm so desperate. Gosh, I could relate to you.
m totally becoming homeless and the doctors are trying to find me any relief. Requip and gapapintin is what I been on for years and other types including patches Nupro to little help and now Requip is to little help and a couple hours of sleep night after night I worry is this. I'm off work do to showing positive COVID-19 with that being said you see I'm battling some difficult things.

2. I am a kidney dialysis patient, and the Web tells me a very uncommon condition called dialysis disequilibrium syndrome, experienced during or after the treatments, can involve confusion, cognitive problems, or -- you guessed it -- hallucinations.

health anxiety but stress and my nana just passed away on Friday from liver cancer but before she did she kept seeing things little bugs crawling on her and the doctors said it was hallucinations because she was dying.
my father is 74, highly diabetic, he fell and broke his left hip about 3 years back, a month back he fell again and broke his right hip-bone and right shoulder. He is home after the surgery but very weak and totally bedridden. He on and off speaks non-sanely....but as evening falls, he starts to hallucinate that he has fallen and is lying out in the open or on the terrace of the house and keeps asking to be carried in and gets quite irritated that no one is bringing him in....
