Common Questions and Answers about Requip and depression

requip

Avatar f tn Dear Kat, I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.
Avatar m tn But I think just taking the amount at night is causing withdrawal , and depression during the day and think I am addicted. Last night I quit taking oxy. Made it through the night with four Baths, and all day have had mild anxiety, am pretty depressed and have stomach cramps . Sound like withdrawals . I think so. Anybody had a similar situation and how do you handle your RLS if you quit the oxycodone and can't sleep because of the symptoms.
Avatar f tn My current sleep doctor feels that Sinemet, a dopamine replacement, should be reserved for use after dopamine agonists such as Requip and Mirapex are no longer useful. I can give you a few hints on optimizing the effectiveness of your Sinemet rather than keep raising dose: No protein to eat unless long enough before dose for the food to have already passed thru the small intestine. Small amout of starchy food food can help when taking med, but no large amounts of food before taking the med.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have been diagnosed with RLS and requip worked for you well until it was determined to be causing side effects, and you were switched to Sinemet. One known side effect of Requip is swelling in the legs; it sounds like you had an extensive evaluation for all the symptoms you began experiencing after January 2008. Sinemet works well for RLS symptoms, but has a higher risk of eventually causing what is called augmentation, or the occurrence of symptoms earlier in the day.
Avatar n tn It is supposed to be worse after long night without sinemet (requip 0.125 is given every other night and no significant distinguish between with and without it) Sinemet suppose to make motion better and it DID make her better before. Or Dyskinesia completely overridden others (but the Dyskinesia is happened in the jaw/tongue and I don't see any tremor in legs/feet) I tried to find a logic explanation, but no luck! Can this imply sinemet is no good for her anymore?
Avatar f tn Hi all, I am new to this forum...I have used Medhelp in the past and have found it to be very supportive so here I am again. There is so many problems regarding my mom but I will try to just touch on what is happening. She is suffering terribly with RLS. My mom has been treated for close to 30 years with numerous antidepressants. She has severe OCD, bipolar, and anxiety disorder. She is currently on 200 mg of Zoloft...in addition to Depekote, and Klonopin.
Avatar n tn I took requip for about five years - worked, no problem. Then about 4 months ago, I started getting, out of the blue and for no obvious reason, anorexia, nausea, and finally light stomach ache. After a lot of investigative stuff, including an EGD, my gastroenterologist discovered the cause: I had become allergic to requip. Just a note of caution.
Avatar f tn The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months. Thus, it is not easy, but it gets better and better over time and you can look forward to a drug free healthy energetic you in the future. 514273 tn?1311609635 The plan was to always go CT from here. I only bought 3 Subs off the streets and threw away the person's contact info as soon as possible. Because of my addictive nature, it was the best course of action. It was a very restless night, but very manageable compared to previous attempts. I'm in the office and i can't keep my legs from shaking and these dang hot flashes and cold sweats keep coming and going.
Avatar f tn that only means 2 hours after I take thyroid, but I also read on synthroid list not to take calcium for 4 hrs after taking synthroid. I take one caplet in am and one in pm for calcium, and 600 mg calcium and 400 D.
Avatar m tn t sleep I take an epsom salts bath and soak as long as I can and then wrap a heating pad around them and I can sleep. Also try bananas and potassium.
Avatar m tn As you already know, it usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms of acute withdrawal, followed by several months of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. A physician may be able to prescribe you some Neurontin (gabapentin) for general malaise, anxiety and muscle cramps, Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia.

Avatar n tn Trying to taper off and get off opiates, morphine and oxy. can clonidine be taken at the same time to help with not having as much of the opiates? and help with the withdrawls?
Avatar f tn oh..one thing i had to learn is everybody has bouts of anxiety and depression sometimes....even non-addicts..i had just gotten used to zapping it away with pills...i was using escape techniques rather than dealing with life...no fair!
Dog Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
Avatar f tn requip during the day and 2 mg. requip at night along with klonopin and other sleep aids. I just split my head open walking around the house unawares. 6 stiches and broken lamps. I asked my doc about early onset of parkinson's.........is this what they go thru? I haven't slept a 7 hour night in at least 8 years. No bs. Usually I sleep 2-4 hours. I'm trying to get some barbituates from overseas because I'm so desperate. Gosh, I could relate to you.
Avatar n tn m totally becoming homeless and the doctors are trying to find me any relief. Requip and gapapintin is what I been on for years and other types including patches Nupro to little help and now Requip is to little help and a couple hours of sleep night after night I worry is this. I'm off work do to showing positive COVID-19 with that being said you see I'm battling some difficult things.
Avatar m tn I was up all night last night with knee, hip, ankle, shoulder and even neck pain. I was tossing and turning in pain even after taking the Requip and an over the counter sleep aid. Even before the leg problem started, I had really bad insomnia. I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADD etc. The only one I believe I have is ADD and the medicine I am on really helps me. I have a lot of abdominal pain. I have had ovarian cysts and kidney stones in the past.
Avatar n tn Hello team! I'm preparing for my big quitting day, October 1! I know some of you folks will question why I set a date, but I have learned from past experieinces that you have to plan for this challenge. My questions is, can anyone tell me what it means when something has "moderate in vitro affinity for opioid receptors"?? I want to try Requip for the terrible RLS I get during wihdrawals.
Avatar f tn The withdrawal from it is essentially the same as the one for the opioids and usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms followed by several more of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. S/he may be able to prescribe you some Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia. But it does get better and better every day, so please don’t give up.
Avatar f tn It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive! On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help. If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
Avatar f tn I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
Avatar n tn replacing dopamine can help rls//but ask ur dr/being an addict/meaning this condition should recover with time vs other causes of rls/feeding ur brain more dopamine via requip may not be the best route...ask ur dr...be honest..many have this and it is not drug related///stats r that those who work out and r active r less likely to suffer rls during detox as their work outs etc produce the endorphins they need to avoid rls...
Avatar f tn Just gave 2 excedrine pm.. Does anyone know how much Requip needed?
