requip

Avatar n tn been off trammadol for 11 days been real hard to sleep took ambiem and requip slept like ababy but now afraid of another addiction the requip iwill always have to take whole family has it(rls).my plan is take 3/4 two nights plus one melatonin then 1/2 two nights 1 melatonin then be on just melatonin .my question am i prolonging the day iwill sleep on my own or should istay cold turkey ifeel like it will never end.
Avatar m tn I have had RLS all of my life and I tried the Requip as well which helpedd me but when I was w/ding it did not help a bit. I usually (when I am not using) have to shake my feet until I go to sleep. I take a hot shower before I go to sleep and that helps a little but depending on how long I have been on my feet during the day I still have to shake my feet and stretch my legs and calves for a few minutes before I can go to sleep.
Avatar n tn At first the doctor prescribed me tramadol 50 mg, then she prescribed Requip 15 mg and now they prescribed me Meripex .0125 mg. My question is Why none of those medicines I just mentioned help me with the symptoms I have? It's really annoying I can't sleep at all I have to be walking up and down so it won't hurt that much and feel tired all the time ( I think is because I can't sleep) and i don't have any kind of sexual appetite. Can somebody help me?
Avatar f tn My current sleep doctor feels that Sinemet, a dopamine replacement, should be reserved for use after dopamine agonists such as Requip and Mirapex are no longer useful. I can give you a few hints on optimizing the effectiveness of your Sinemet rather than keep raising dose: No protein to eat unless long enough before dose for the food to have already passed thru the small intestine. Small amout of starchy food food can help when taking med, but no large amounts of food before taking the med.
Avatar n tn My numbers were okay and slightly high...went to mayo and was diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome, which has the same symptoms of uncontrolled hypothyroidism. Weight gain, fatigue, weakness, muscle pain, etc, etc. I am on a drug to increase my dopamine levels and after 5 nights on it, feel nearly 100% better. For everyone with hypo who's #'s are okay, you might want to explore a sleep disorder.
445838 tn?1205786577 Hi I had a choice between neurontin and the requip, I chose neurontin, and it doesnt seem strong but my doc said I could take another if it didnt help maybe call your doc nd see. It works for me just messes with my emotions not as bad lately. Even after 6 weeks I still have RLS I guess I will have to live with it I also am a diabetic so the peripereal neuropathiy is the same as RLS.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have been diagnosed with RLS and requip worked for you well until it was determined to be causing side effects, and you were switched to Sinemet. One known side effect of Requip is swelling in the legs; it sounds like you had an extensive evaluation for all the symptoms you began experiencing after January 2008. Sinemet works well for RLS symptoms, but has a higher risk of eventually causing what is called augmentation, or the occurrence of symptoms earlier in the day.
867787 tn?1318936230 Hi Dr. Park, I'm going to see a neurologist soon as my family doctor strongly suspects that I have MS. My problem is that I'm having terrible bouts with insomnia. I take Requip & Zanaflex nightly but they don't seem to help. The meds do help with restless legs & muscle spasms but I was told that they would help me sleep also. I wore a moniter all night while I slept but my results were ok. I have tried ambien & over the counter sleep aids & nothing seems to work.
Avatar f tn See if a doctor can write your friend a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin (gabapentin) for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. It will make his withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Avatar n tn It is supposed to be worse after long night without sinemet (requip 0.125 is given every other night and no significant distinguish between with and without it) Sinemet suppose to make motion better and it DID make her better before. Or Dyskinesia completely overridden others (but the Dyskinesia is happened in the jaw/tongue and I don't see any tremor in legs/feet) I tried to find a logic explanation, but no luck! Can this imply sinemet is no good for her anymore?
Avatar f tn Dear Kat, I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.
136956 tn?1688675680 Mirapex is the only thing helping during this severe time. Before that I have been on Requip and klonopin; even neurontin. Klonopin was really good and helped me sleep but my other doctor didn't want me on it...said it was addictive. Now I have to take Ambien with my Mirapex; somethings amiss. All the best for your symptoms.
Avatar f tn Yes I've tried Hylands and some other otc stuff but it doesn't work. Believe me I don't want to undo my clean days and I'd rather take the pramipexole than the ambien. I do appreciate you guys looking out for me. I'm going to ask mommymarie what the name of that cream is.
Avatar n tn I took requip for about five years - worked, no problem. Then about 4 months ago, I started getting, out of the blue and for no obvious reason, anorexia, nausea, and finally light stomach ache. After a lot of investigative stuff, including an EGD, my gastroenterologist discovered the cause: I had become allergic to requip. Just a note of caution.
Avatar f tn I have flexeril for leg cramps...but I wanted RLS medicine...if I get a script for requip..and take my ativan, ambien and vistaril...will it ease my withdrawal symptoms?...I have probation in 4 days and am going to get urine testedx this time so I have no choice.......any suggestions...plus if I can go 4 days I would like to quit for good again...somebody help me...I need ADVICE on this matter people I can get thru the diahrea and the sweats ..its the BONE PAIN I cannot stand...
514273 tn?1311609635 The plan was to always go CT from here. I only bought 3 Subs off the streets and threw away the person's contact info as soon as possible. Because of my addictive nature, it was the best course of action. It was a very restless night, but very manageable compared to previous attempts. I'm in the office and i can't keep my legs from shaking and these dang hot flashes and cold sweats keep coming and going.
1591337 tn?1297101349 Well, this sounds alot like restless leg syndrome, and they have other meds for this like Requip, ask your MD about this and if your symptoms sound like you have this and you can start to sleep better! Good Luck!
233616 tn?1312787196 I will be honest though and tell you I am still on the Ambien and have NO desire to ever ever ever go off them as long as I live. I never was a good sleeper to begin with and with them at least I make sure to get a couple of hours in. You know better than anybody Merry you just gotta do what you gotta do even if it's not any fun. I'm sorry you are having such a tough time of it.
Avatar f tn that only means 2 hours after I take thyroid, but I also read on synthroid list not to take calcium for 4 hrs after taking synthroid. I take one caplet in am and one in pm for calcium, and 600 mg calcium and 400 D.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar n tn and i do use ambien at times and have for 10 years in small doses but many end up with a problem using ambien it seems...also...
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar f tn Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?
Avatar m tn But it is a benzo so I am going to have to come off of that soon! I wouldnt mix the ambien and Klonopin though! Its nice that you have 25 days off from work! That will give you time to detox and to start some kind of aftercare!!! A therapist, AA/NA meetings, Celebrate Recovery etc.... I have only been clean for 19 days but aftercare was stressed to me since the very beginning!!!
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
Avatar n tn Trying to taper off and get off opiates, morphine and oxy. can clonidine be taken at the same time to help with not having as much of the opiates? and help with the withdrawls?
