I've been on Rebif for about 13 years. My insurance recently stopped covering it, but offered Aubagio as an alternative--sounded good to me! I'll be switching, but I'm worried about just stopping Rebif cold turkey (which my neurologist suggests). Has anyone had any experiences with stopping Rebif?

That is the best outcome. Rebif, nor any of the other three firstline meds, are considered cures. Rebif is an excellent med with a good reputation. And therer are other meds that are coming along soon that will be in pill form, but it remains to be seen who will do best on those versus using the shots. Now, the reality is that a good proportion of people with MS will need some aid for walking and other activities (like a cane or wheelchair) within about 20 to 25 years after diagnosis.

Hi all, my daughter was diagnosed with MS at the age of 14 and she is now 17 and has started with Rebif about 9 months ago. The is on rebif 44 and has no real side effects from the injection any more. But she had to have her gallbladder removed 2 months ago. She has also picked up 15 kilos since she started on rebif even though she is eating healthy and is doing swimming and spinning...no matter what she does she cant drop the weight. Is there anyone else who is having this problem?

Hi Sarah, I am almost done going through months of all the motions needed to take prior to starting Gilenya- the tests, vaccines, etc. I was contacted by the Gilenya Go Program. They sent me a form to fill out. Once they received my form I was approved for their financial assistance program, which covers all costs for 1 year. After 1 year, I believe I need to reapply.

My work was having open enrollment for insurance and i was eligible. I wanted to sign up for their dental plan since i need it and can afford it again. I assumed it was being taken care of since i filled out the form and turned it in the same day. I have been patiently awaiting the cards in the mail but nothing!.... I ask my boss today what happened and she says she turned the paper work in1 day late and missed the deadline. Now i have to wait a whole 'nother year to get insurance?

I will start Avonex, as soon as I can get an appt with an injection nurse. I had an allergic reaction to Rebif, but my neuro feels that it was likely a reaction to something specific to Rebif- not interferon. I am also now taking Baclofen. It is helping. I still feel the "hug", and spasms in other places- but it doesn't seem to get quite as severe. I would like to still take my zanaflex, but don't think he refilled it. I think the baclofen is replacing zanaflex.

Unless you have a very aggressive form stay with the injections. I take Rebif. It is taken three times per week. Some people get flu like symptoms when taking it. I have no reactions to it. Most people that take Rebif take two Advil's about an hour before injecting. Many take it before bed so they can sleepl through the flu symptoms. I take it early in the day because it keeps me awake. They will start you on a low dose working up to the highest.

I have MS and have been taking Rebif foe 7 years. It has worked very well. I just learned that my current drug insurance plan from Humana will not cover Rebif in 2015. What plans cover at least some of the Rebif cost? My copay with Humana was about $300 per month. Would like not to exceed this amount.

Yes, I am on rebif for 11 months and must take advil liquid gels To stave off headache fever that wakes me up!

So the ins company wont pay for Copaxone or Gilynia until my daughter first tries Rebif (i guess because its cheaper for them.) I have a concern with her being on an interferon due to the possible mental health side effects. She is already on Lexapro for anxiety and mild depression. I dont want anything adding to the issue. We have dr app tomorrow to discuss Rebif but I dont want her on it. Anyone have bad side effects with Rebif??? Any advise for me?? Thank you.

I have been on Rebif for four months now, and I am not going to do another shot, I can't handle the side effects. I've tried premedicating and nothing seems to work. How many of you are in the same situation? and what did you do?
