198419 tn?1360242356 As some may have seen, Abagio the 2nd oral is now approved. Important to note (my opinion) - When compared to Rebif. Don't mean to be skeptical my friends, I'm just the type of person who wants some comparisons to existing meds with track records.
211940 tn?1267881266 I have been taking Rebif injections, since January 2010, and I have never missed a single one, until now. Up until January 1, 2012, I have received my Rebif injections, free of charge, due to the fact I had no health insurance. I became eligible for Medicare, on January 1, 2012, and so I have had to wait for MS Lifelines to decide whether I'm still eligible for their "free of charge" program.
962117 tn?1416358616 s teleprevir will be approved by the fda for treatment? I have been waiting for the good news since 2009 and the date seems to get bumped further away each time. I would love to hear if anyone has information that is accurate. Thanks and have a great day!
Avatar f tn What is usually the cost of these meds? ( I am considering trying Rebif or Avonex) I have heard they run about $1500/month. I have to meet a $3000 deductible which means I may have to pay for my first dose. I don't have an extra $1500 floating around. I am really starting to freak out! But then again part of me figures I have probably had MS for 15-20 years an I am fine so far. I guess waiting another 1-2 months to start taking DMDs can't hurt. Can it?
Avatar f tn When I went to get my rebif refilled last week was tokd they were out and its on border and they don't kniw when it will come in and could be a couple months. I called every pharmacy in town and got.same.story. Then called rebif and they know.if.no shortage. Is anyone else.having this problem? In meantime I am out so no shots.
1831849 tn?1383228392 - ) If there were no profit motive, then there would be no Tysabri, Avonex, Rebif, Copaxone, Betaseron etc. No one is going to develop these drugs for free.
Avatar n tn Less than a year ago, 2010 was thought to be the approval date, but in the last few months I have heard 2011 bandied about more often. The manufacturer, Vertex, has held regular press conferences announcing their approval date projections. A very similar drug, boceprevir, another protease inhibitor to be approved and manufactured by Schering Plough, is thought to receive approval about the same time or shortly afterwards.
1831849 tn?1383228392 First is some good news for Avonex and Rebif users. It looks like Biogen-Idec is going to be seeking marketing approval for monthly dosing later this year. http://www.medpagetoday.com/Neurology/MultipleSclerosis/36993?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=medpage%2Biphone%20app Second is kind of a double edged sword. The FDA has approved over the counter sale of Oxytrol, a drug aimed at overactive bladder. They have approved it for sale to women bu not men.
429700 tn?1308007823 My sister had her first Tysabri infusion today and all went well! I was so anxious for her, but for no reason--she sounded great. She had to start the Tysabri because she was getting this terrible-looking, itchy rash which hurt which her neuro (actually our neuro) had said was probably a reaction to her Rebif. She also was progressing in her disease.
211940 tn?1267881266 >>...Social Security Disability, at the beginning of May, so I should get my first SSD check, this month (June). must be different in KS than in NV...that is to say, the wait period between SSD approval and a check in the mail. when we get approved here, we have to wait 5 months before a check is sent. after that 5 month wait period, then the 24 month medicare wait period starts. as for medicare: it is the same here, 24 month wait after the SSD wait period. To answer your Q?
Avatar m tn shutdown did not affect the timeline for approval. The PDUFA decision date for sofosbuvir is December 8 or 9 depending on where you look. The overall tone of this document is very encouraging for a swift approval. As a genotype 2 hoping for the all oral treatment ASAP this is very good news. http://www.fda.gov/downloads/AdvisoryCommittees/CommitteesMeetingMaterials/Drugs/AntiviralDrugsAdvisoryCommittee/UCM371877.pdf?
382218 tn?1341181487 My Rebif saga has come to a conclusion. After staying off of it for five weeks and seeing a reduction in my liver enzymes, I took just one 22mcg shot again last week and already my liver is not tolerating it. The MS clinic called this morning to say no more shots (darn, I took one last night) and so I am done with Rebif for good. I guess I was overly optimistic when I started my shots last week as I picked up another $1500 worth of syringes at the pharmacy.
8459373 tn?1412685864 So I am waiting for my Medicaid approval, does anyone know when I'm supposed to start looking for an obgyn and start setting an appointment for my first checkup, would it be after I get my approval or now? Again no clue how everything works its my first pregnancy.
Avatar f tn But anyhoo she gave me two medicine to read on betaseron and rebif. Both are injections I was told they have a new pill out that is very expensive and medcaid isn't paying at this time. I'm very uneasy abt the injections. Can anyone tell me if they've taken either one and their experience with it. I want another child in a few yrs and don't want this to stop me.
Avatar f tn In my experience, a week after approval I received my meds from the specialty pharmacy fed x overnight but not before they called (spec pharm) and asked a slue of questions, and then they had me call again to order and they asked a couple more questions. Couldn't start the meds until I had a "teaching" from my NP. I started today actually, am doing 4week lead-in with Peg/Riba and then Victrelis. Good luck on your journey and congrats on going to get started.
Avatar n tn If you do the math, I had my MS relapse in the middle of July 2007...at the same time as my quit date but I stuck to my date and struggled through it and July 17, 2008 was my one year smoke free anniversary! My Mom had bet me years ago that I couldn't quit smoking for one year and if I did she would give me $1000.00. Well on July 17, 2008, she gave me a cheque for $1000.00 and that is what paid for our holiday to Nordegg!
Avatar m tn I have MS and have been taking Rebif foe 7 years. It has worked very well. I just learned that my current drug insurance plan from Humana will not cover Rebif in 2015. What plans cover at least some of the Rebif cost? My copay with Humana was about $300 per month. Would like not to exceed this amount.
Avatar f tn Yes, I am on rebif for 11 months and must take advil liquid gels To stave off headache fever that wakes me up!
Avatar f tn So the ins company wont pay for Copaxone or Gilynia until my daughter first tries Rebif (i guess because its cheaper for them.) I have a concern with her being on an interferon due to the possible mental health side effects. She is already on Lexapro for anxiety and mild depression. I dont want anything adding to the issue. We have dr app tomorrow to discuss Rebif but I dont want her on it. Anyone have bad side effects with Rebif??? Any advise for me?? Thank you.
11924850 tn?1601364171 Hello. Does anyone take Rebif for MS? Is it helping? How long before any improvement? Does anyone think that it's just a false hope with nasty side effects? Thanks.
