rebif

Avatar f tn Yes, I am on rebif for 11 months and must take advil liquid gels To stave off headache fever that wakes me up!
1489159 tn?1288657429 Hi there, Sorry for your diagnosis. The side affects mentioned in the literature can and do happen. I'm a Rebif user for 3 years now and do very well. My site reactions are just a warm (to touch) pink about the size of a silver dollar. I inject straight up without the autoinjector but I many people use the auto and it works very well for them. Like all meds it's important to weigh out the benefits and risks.
Avatar f tn They were high, so at that point my neuro instructed me to go off all meds and supplements, and no alcohol, stayed on Rebif and they remained high when test was repeated. Went off Rebif, stayed off other meds and alcohol, they returned to normal, and remained so after I started other meds again and consumed alcohol again. This is how we could be certain it was Rebif causing the prolem.
1437229 tn?1296070020 I have been on it only a short time, and have already begun losing mine. I would appreciate any input from the experts. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi beeama! I don't know what the instances of anemia and interferons are, but if you've not taken any supplements, and then go off the rebif for a week or two, then re-run the labs and they check out good you very well could be affected. It is the docs responsibility to order the labs, but have found too I have to remember to ask for the script for labs. Since it was 6 months ago - they should be run again for good measure.
1207048 tn?1282174304 ve had the flu, and there is no comparison to me. I was a bit achey, and did get headaches. I pre-medicate with naproxen (500 mgs) and find it to be enough for me. It's true that you adjust after a couple of months of being on it. I did stop Rebif more than once, and strange, but when re-starting I didn't have hardly any side-affects and I was expecting to have to go through that couple month adjustment again and was so happy there was no adjustment period.
Avatar n tn I've only been on Rebif a short time and as yet, have had no problems like what you describe. How long have you been on Rebif?
1140169 tn?1370185076 I've been on Rebif since the begining of Aug, and lately I'm having some miner issues (i was going to add to Cali1892's post, but I didn't want to hyjack it).
198419 tn?1360242356 Let us know how you make out and what if anything you think Rebif may have to do with this. I start Rebif next week and am keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't disagree with me. Another thought --- have you tried calling the Rebif patient support program to tell them about the hives? Perhaps they have heard from other patients with the same problem? Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn When I asked my Dr about it he said that headaches and eye pain were a common symptom of interferon which both Rebif and Avonex are. I went off of Interferon completely and started looking into Tysarbi the once a month IV medication. Well... I recently read quite a bit about a brain infection that Tysarbi patients sometimes get and die from... oh yeah and Vanginitis... Mmmm Mmmmm sounds fun. Oh Yeah I forgot to say this... I am on Provigil. My anto fatigue drug.
1140169 tn?1370185076 I was just wondering what devices other people use to inject their DMD. I'm on rebif and I use the RebiSmart injector. That's what they sent me and no one asked me what I wanted, but I'm glad because it's very easy to inject with.
Avatar n tn I have been on rebif 44 for 9 weeks. Two weeks ago I started biting my lip. I noticed that my jaw is jerking which makes me bite my lip. Also started biting tongue. It is like my tongue does not know where it is. Does anyone else have this problem. I am taking the rebif for ms.
Avatar f tn Is there anyone on here who is or has breastfed while taking interferons. I was diagnosed with ms last week and my dr. has prescribed Rebif. If the diagnoses wasn't bad enough, I found out that I will no longer be able to breastfeed my son due to the medicine. Through online research it looks like the interferon molecule is too big to get into the milk and would be destroyed in his digestive track anyway. It also looks like interferons are naturally occuring in the milk.
470613 tn?1207312671 Hi Sam, Well, I'm just not sure. I'll tell you, I went on Rebif not long after being dx'd and I'm off of it now for a short time (for other reasons), and I'm curious to see how I feel after I restart. For me, I could not tell the difference between MS feeling like ****, or Rebif feeling like ****. I really did not have enough time w/MS to know the difference. Now that I've had this gap in time, I feel I will know the difference too.
308205 tn?1213962077 Hey Jules, My experience is only with Rebif. I had the common flu-like symptoms, but after a couple of months that improved. I developed an allergic reaction to "something." Could be the Rebif, or could of been the xanax and temazapam (one for anxiety, and one to sleep at night). For over 4 months now, I am not on any of those and am only on Baclofen for spasms. I am going to challenge the Rebif, as I believe in what the studies say about it prolonging disability.
Avatar m tn Same here i live in Albania and there is few information and ms specialist.. Can you please tell me how your friend did after quitting???
432312 tn?1265644974 A few months later my Dr told me about Rebif which was new to the market at that time. Rebif is a 3 times a week shot and the shot goes into the fatty tisue just under the skin. The flu symptoms were worse at first but left almost completely after a few months. Last year I tried to return to work. I missed quite a few shots and the flu symptoms came back including this time extreme eye pain.
953123 tn?1251757774 I have been taking Rebif on and off for the last five years. I did pause for a bit to try Copaxone (sp) and I myself personally hated it. My body seems to prefer Interferons and flu like symptoms. I did go for a year without taking any injections because I thought I was too cool for that. So I am back on.
1149087 tn?1415316549 When he heard about this he was adamant that the Interferons were off my possible list of meds. He would not re-prescribe Avonex and said that Rebif and Betaseron would likely (not definitely) be worse. As a physician, myself, this makes sense. When a person has a problem that is associated with a class of medications, they can be possibly have that problem with all members of that class.
