Avatar n tn Does anyone know if it is ok to release the medicine out of capsules and mix the medicine up in juice? I have a problem swallowing pills and was not sure if this was an option????
Avatar f tn The capsules are immediate release and the pills are extended release, right? I can't take hydrocodone also. I don't want to take a more powerful drug like oxycotin or morphine, so I was hoping there was a different chemical compound in the capsules!
Business woman2 Most of the tablet forms will contain Lactose and Gluten. Some of the extended release capsules do not contain neither Gluten nor Lactose. It will help me very much, if I know the dosage form and strength. We might be able to find you a supplier that do not use Lactose and Gluten in its Venlafaxine. Thanks and be well.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi, I understand your concern regarding this and like any other medications, side effects may or may not occur depending on the patient as well as if there are drug interactions with patient's present medicine. Topiramate extended-release capsules may cause drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, trouble concentrating, or vision changes. But may be worse if it is taken with alcohol or certain medicines. It is best that you check with your doctor for proper management. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn m also on Metformin extended release, do u think that could be the cause?
Avatar f tn It appears you are referring to an immediate-release tablet formulation of acetazolamide 250mg. it is safe to split the immediate-release tablets. Extended-release capsules should not be broken.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried the extended releExtended release Xanaxase Xanax? I know it has been on the market for a bit but I haven't heard any feedback.
Avatar f tn Hi. Out of curiosity. What's highest dose allowed for Effexor extended release capsules? I'm at 150 at 180lbs and my anxiety wanted to know before I called someone..
Avatar m tn You want to make sure at your pharmacy that you are still getting extended release capsules but i doubt they would give you non-extended release capsules without telling you or without being told so with your doctor and your doctor would probably have let you know.
Avatar f tn I was told that my Metformin Extended Release capsules will come out whole and it's just the cellulose storage matrix that I see. I can't answer the question about seeing the powder, though. Perhaps you could switch to regular Metformin tablets rather than capsules?
1378325 tn?1285346625 This is the cost for a 90 day supply of the extended release capsules, the non-extended release pills are $55 for 90 days compared to the $210 for the extended release. My cost for the brand Effexor was $130 for 90 days. I even talked to a supervisor at Express Scripts and she said it was because it isn't classified as a Tier drug, as in 1-2-or 3 yet.
Avatar f tn If one never had swollen gums after taking Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended-release Capsules USP for years and then suddenly has swollen gums (no redness or infection) could the Diltiazem suddenly cause this after getting a "deep cleaning" of the teeth, or 'probing for pocket depths' at a dentist?
Avatar m tn You can google it and find out all of the side effects. If I remember correctly. The drug is out of the system fairly quickly - which is why you have to take it every 4 hours or so. Even an extended release doesn't last much longer than about 12 hours, which is why its taken daily. So, I would think that something else is going on.
Avatar f tn Looking to safely taper off of my calcium channel blocker diltiazem extended release capsules. I have been on them a little over one year. My blood pressure is perfect and was perfect prior to my heart surgery. The only reason I am on them is because I had a large tumor in my heart and once I had my open heart surgery I developed post-op SVT, afib, a-flutter and my heart rate has skyrocketed over 200 beats per minute several times.
Avatar f tn .I'm a 34 year old female who has dealt with GI issues for several years. I went to see my first GI in 2004 due to rectal bleeding. A colonoscopy was performed and revealed nothing. The GI couldn't find a cause for the bleeding and it stopped on its own with no re-occurence. In 6/2010 I went back to the GI due to severe constipation and abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with IBS-Constipation Type and given literature on the condition and nothing more.
Avatar f tn Effexor (venlafaxine) is used to treat depression. Venlafaxine extended-release (long-acting) capsules are also used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; excessive worrying that is difficult to control), social anxiety disorder (extreme fear of interacting with others or performing in front of others that interferes with normal life), and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
Avatar n tn lately, i cant brush my hair on the left side because it is so sensitive. Am i on the wrong meds? What do you think of the hydro 15mgs extended release verses the 7.5 mg of hydrocodone?
725248 tn?1316162245 Have you tried the extended release formula for Dilaudid? A new extended release formulation (OROS®) of Hydromorphone is available and I believe it is more afforable than the Fentanyl. Here is link about the medication... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2697506/ I wish you the best of luck. With today's economy we have to get what we can afford.
612551 tn?1450022175 I was recently prescribed 100 mg extended release beta blocker to increase my long time used 50 mg. Is it better to take 50 mg every 12 hours rather than 100 mg every 24 hours? If no, should I take 100 mg in morning or before bed?
Avatar n tn Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
Avatar f tn I don't think you are going through a withdrawal....doesn't make sense as you are on the same dosage, just extended release form. Were you taking the two capsules or just one? If you were taking just one than it's a very real possibility that your body was withdrawing. I really do think that this is just an adjustment period. Do you not have anything for break through pain? If not please discuss this with your physician.
Avatar f tn Then get gel empty capsules from eBay $7. Before bed put 3 drops into capsules n drink with a full glass of water. After 5 days increase to 5 drops . It is strong so drink with plenty of water. The symptoms will almost disappear. Stop for a few weeks then use as needed as it’s like taking antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Well first of all you should not open any capsules because they are intended to be taken at once because you could have the extended release capsules which would make em not extended release if you take it without the capsule. Antidepressants doesn't work like you take the pill and you feel great. You need to take the pill once a day or as indicated by your doctor and as your brain adjust to the drug you can start to feel better in the range of 2 and 4 weeks.
Avatar n tn I have no experience with pharmaceuticals but do have professional experience with the controlled-release systems they are combined with. If the drug is extended-release, it is possible it will never entirely digest. Resin-coated tablets, and capsules using capillary diffusion models such as that of ALZA Pharm, can pass without any digestion of the capsule, and minimial digestion of an active compound-impregnated tablet.
