Avatar f tn I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
1965148 tn?1354978634 Hey Elinah, I have experienced two psychotic manic episodes after being put on antidepressants. They both lasted at least a week. It started out as a feeling of increased euphoria, racing thoughts, confidence boost, insomnia and impulsiveness. These symptoms progressed and got more intense as time went on, and after a few days my thoughts began to turn sinister. I started having hallucinations and hearing voices telling me to kill myself and others.
Avatar n tn I have been having some very disturbing symptoms that I can seem to find no relief for. I get this gripping feeling in the left side of my head at times it feels like someone is grabbing my brain and squeezing it, then releasing. It follows with headaches at times then pressure that lasts most of the day and I get severely depressed afterwards. I also have what seems like motor difficulties, my body feels very rigid most of the time and my movement very slow.
Avatar f tn My psychiatrist told me straight off the bat when I started mentioning some negative symptoms I have that negative symptoms and depression often overlap with each other. I would less worry about figuring out what it is on my own and more worry about helping her get help as some of that stuff in concerning.
Avatar m tn psychotic depression can encompass a wide variety of symptoms. i treat people with "psychotic depressions" a lot. Depending on what symptoms people are experiencing, different medications will be used. People will often respond very quickly to antipsychotic meds (even within days). The deeper depressive symptoms may take longer to fully resolve but that does not mean you cannot get feeling much much better relatively quickly.
Avatar m tn Your 12 week negative test was fully conclusive and proves you did not get HIV from your exposure. You didn't need any further testing, and do not need to test again now. The values on the test are irrelevant, they will always fluctuate. As long as they remain below the cut off for a positive test (usually 1.0), it is a negative result. Symptoms are a terribly poor indicator to gauge HIV infection because they are very inconsistent.
Avatar m tn No need to test you have tested at the end of the window period and you are negative conclusively. Your minor ailements every one has from time to time and nothing to think about especially with a 12 week neagtive test behind you. You do not mention if your sex was protected or not but most prostitutes will not have sex without a condom and if they would run! WEAR A CONDOM FOR ANAL AND VAGINAL SEX AND DON;T DO DRUGS. Good luck, I wish you all the best.
Avatar m tn if you tested negative at 91 days...then your "symptoms" were NOT ars, but caused by something else. your test proves conclusively that you did NOT contract hiv.
12268405 tn?1427853361 On April 2nd I made the decision to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital due to a psychotic episode. The thing that I'm having the hardest time comprehending is if I induced the episode or not. I convinced myself that I was covered in fleas, I heard voices saying my name and calling me worthless in the past, & I experienced paranoia. I don't know what to think right now. I wish I could know if I made the symptoms worse or not...
Avatar m tn I had a reaction after just two pills (very minor). Now it appears that I have athletes foot. I had two elisa tests done in April both negative and a home access test done in May negative. I just can't take this stress. It seems everytime something happens to me it can be traced back to HIV? I am even afraid to go to the Dr. I am afraid they will make me test again and I can't do this stress anymore. I had a brief affair almost six years ago.
Avatar m tn From your knowing, does these symptoms come as soon as 2-3 months after infection? If I had an 8 weeks negative duo test does that mean that the symptoms I mentioned are not hiv related? Thank you in advance!

Avatar m tn I started to experience som of the symptoms 5 weeks after the exposure. First I had high temperature around 37 C for 3-4 days accompanied with sore throat. On the sixth week I made HIV test because I was really scared. The test was negative. I got better. But on the next week I got sick again. Coughing, sore throat, running nose and temperature again 37 C.
Avatar m tn You really don't have it. Really, you don't! Smile because those symptoms are going to make you laugh at yourself when this scare is over. Please don't worry!
Avatar n tn Hi I have done one protected sex with one asian in mid april 2009 , that was not fully intercourse and condom was not failed, till now I didn't get any type of symptoms of HIV infection. But only one day during this period I got some muscle pain on my legs for few hours , I have taken one pain killer tap and it has gone and never come back. My question is there any possibilities to getting HIV infection with condom also , if it is not failed.
Avatar n tn re very early on and it could come out negative. But your blood tests are alot more accurate than your average Home Pregnancy test.
Avatar m tn Is it possible for ARS symptoms to start 5 days after a potential exposure? Especially if one was not well during the exposure, lack of sleep, and general lower immunity? I have been having non-stop pressure behind the eyes as well as sore throat, back aches, joint aches. Pressure behind eyes is not really painful - just not pleasant - and going on for two days now. Would an HIV related headache be painful like a normal headache?
Avatar n tn I have my blood test in the morning, and took 2 HPT yesterday, which was 11dpt. Both were negative. 1 was even a digital. So, now of course I am freaking out thinking that its impossible to get a postive in the morning.
Avatar f tn Within FEP patients, decreases in cortisol and the cortisol/DHEAS ratio over time were directly related to the improvement in depression . . . negative . . . and psychotic symptoms . . . . Perceived stress significantly correlated with DHEAS . . . and the cortisol/DHEAS ratio . . . in controls, but not patients, possibly reflecting an impaired hormonal response to stress in FEP patients. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
