provigil and hair loss

Well, I was on Copaxone a couple of months only (horrible allergy) and have been on Avonex for going on 3 years, and no unusual hair loss. This is just anecdotal, of course, but I haven't read any reports of this about the CRABs and they've been around a long time now. Didn't know Gilenya caused this. Ugh!

I am in a similar situation such as yourself. I had been on Provigil for approximately a year and it helped me tremendously. I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal.

m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?

s in the fridge until I receive training). I did start Provigil for fatigue on Saturday. I felt okay Sunday and Monday but I was pretty exhausted Tuesday and somewhat tired today. I didn't get up until 11 and I napped from 4pm to 8pm. I also noticed that I have no appetite. I have cotton mouth. I am very thirsty and nauseous. I did eat some cereal today. I tried to eat a little oatmeal tonight and only managed about two bites. Has anyone else had similar issues? Did anything help?

i know a person who has ms and cannot get out of bed unless she takes this provigil. it is not suppose to be addicting, its for energy. my friend is not into other medications only having to take this meds for energy. so it should not be something you could abbuse if u r taking as directed.

This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive day time sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnogogic hallucinations and automatic behavior. Sometimes other sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome cause inadequate sleep leading to fatigue and daytime sleepiness.

The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?

I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off

It would be great if that could help with my fatigue as well as help me lose weight, and cost a lot less than Provigil. Heck, I looked it up and it is also in the same class as amphetamines, and could raise my heart rate/BP. I'll ask how it compares to Ritalin as far as side effects. I think Ritalin reduces the appetite, too, and would cost me a small co-pay. I'm so sorry about your lower back pain; I'm seeing my physical therapist about mine today.

I do use OTC sleep aids like you said and i think for now i will continue, i have some ambien, but i will keep it to use when i need it, since i had to beg for it. I dont want to use it all the time anyway. And i use 200 mg of provigil now, and i sometimes i could use a bit more. But i try to stick with 200 mg.

Has anyone talked to their doc about using didrex for fatigue,memory and loss of attention?

My hair has ALWAYS been so thick and moisturized and healthy and now its dry and frizzy and falling out! Its awful im so embarrassed it literally never stops falling out.

I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. In 2004 I took a course of Roaccutane for acne and noticed some thinning after the course finished. I was told that this was a known side effect, but that the hair would grow back. It has been over four years!!! My hair is uniformly thinned out across the entire scalp.
