I was to see my doctor today and had yet another dipstick test come back showing a trace amount of protein in my urine. This has been happening off and on for about 3 years now. This got me thinking. When I was a teenager about 15 years ago I had kidney stones that had to be blasted. And it has me thinking maybe theres something wrong with my kidneys or maybe the kidney stones caused some damage that result in the kidneys not functioning well. Is that possible?

every time I go to the doctors office almost always when they do a urine test it comes back with bacteria or protein in it. But when they send it off to a lab it shows all is fine. This has happened so many times and I have been prescribed medications for it so many times that I developed an allergic reaction to one. Why would this thing happen with my urine so everytime? Also it happens no matter if I use mid stream or not.
Mine has reached 2000 before now.only after 4 years of persistant proteinuria have i been refered to a nephrologist!
