280234 tn?1532986249 I have requested that your questions be shifted to the gynecology forum. Your last question regarding proteinuria secondary to a urinary tract infection is a "yes." The true amount of protein in your urine can be best figured out by doing a 24 hour urine collection and your kidney function can also be calculated on that specimen. There are many causes for protein in urine and many false readings.
Avatar m tn I have done my homework (as per the web). been to a load of doctors. I was "Cured" in 2000, have felt like everone else. My diagnoses after treatment etc. are MGUS, Proteinuria, and I have tried to find info into Cryoglobulins and RF factor to make sure I don't have Cryoglobulimia. Has anyone looked into this? Thank You.
Avatar m tn I have very high proteinuria, and from what I understand this causes serum albumin levels to decrease. Right now my level of proteinuria is around 3 to 4 grams a day, and my serum albumin is slightly high at around 5.3 g/dL. Typically how high can my proteinuria get before I see a noticeable drop in serum albumin? If you are wondering, I do not have dehydration. I drink over 3 liters of water a day.
Avatar m tn How are you? Proteinuria is an abnormally high amount of protein in the urine. Proteins from the blood can escape into the urine when the filters of the kidney, called glomeruli, are damaged. These are the most common causes: high blood pressure, infection, reflux nephropathy, diabetes, glomerulonephritis or minimal change nephritis. The first goal of treatment is to treat the underlying cause. It is important that anyone with proteinuria is monitored regularly.
Avatar n tn Hello doctors, thanks for your time. I've posted 2 questions on here regarding an encounter I had with a CSW back in May. I was reassured by you that I did not get HIV as the incident was protected and my rapid HIV test that was done at 8 weeks was negative. Today I had my annual physical and they found protein in my urine. I tested last week and today and both urinalysis's came back positive for traces of protein. I am undergoing further testing this week.

Avatar m tn You could drink more water to see if it goes away. Proteinuria is just one of the causes of foamy urine. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) (commonly prostatitis) and retrograde ejaculation are two common causes in men. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar m tn Hi there, I have always had bubbles in my urine, at least for the last 8 years. Recently I went to the doctor for a urinalysis because I read about the correlation between kidney disease and proteinuria. I'm unsure as to whether my bubbles are caused by protein. My test results indicated that no proteins were present in my urine specimen. My creatinine serum is 1.0. My GFR is 97.6 ml/min/1.73 msg. I'm wondering- will my GFR hold steady in the 90's?
Avatar f tn I have had protein in urine just about every visit, gotten several 24 hour collections done, which came back fine. Turns out i am dehydrated and am getting false protein readings.
Avatar n tn You may have proteinuria. It just means that some of the proteins you've ingested are being pushed out of your body as waste. Well, you'll most always have some protein in your urine, as trace amounts of protein are excreted in your urine as part of normal urine production. The concern is when you have TOO MUCH protein in your urine. This is a symptom known as proteinuria. How can you tell when you have too much protein in your urine?
Avatar f tn I have an positive ana for over 2 years now and now the doctor says i have protein in my urine what could this be.
Avatar f tn Has anyone received a false positive for turners syndrome when testing the genetics of your baby?
Avatar f tn I received test results yesterday and need some help. The physician is optimistic that it's a false positive but I need some input. I went for retesting but need some type of hope right now. HIV 1/O/2 Abs Index Value 1.01 Reference range <1.00 HIV 1/O/2 Abs QUAL Repeatedly Reactive What factors would contribute to a false positive? was also diagnosed with BV. Could this play a factor with my antibodies for testing?
Avatar f tn If it said positive, then it's positive. There's no such thing as a false positive unless your test was a blue dye test. Congrats! You can look into medicaid if you can't afford to go to the Dr.
Avatar f tn I have cyst on my ovaries and I had a positive test. So I scheduled an appt. and they did both urine and blood test and those came out positive. But I would suggest making an appt. so you have that extra confirmation.
Avatar f tn I got a very faint positive. I took another later on around 1pm and I got a negative. What are the odds of a false positive? I'm nervous now. I'm having no symptoms of my period coming. I'm expecting it in three days. I'm having early pregnancy symptoms but don't want to trick myself into thinking I am. Please.... any input?
Avatar f tn Is it possible to get a false positive on a pregnancy test 2 months after giving birth??? Thank you in advance!!!
Avatar m tn The causes of false positive HSV2 tests are unknown. You'll find websites that talk about infection with other viruses in the herpes group, but that explains few if any false positive result. That your partner has a negative result is great, but it doesn't mean anything in regard to your test result. You still need additional testing if you want to sort this out.
