Avatar n tn Usually you can find out things like this from a pharmacist, and it is also helpful to look up the drug's website and perhaps give a call to its 800 number.
Avatar m tn My erections are not as hard as they used to be and I do not stay hard for long. I attribute my erection problems to the Propecia tablet that I take daily. As you know, Propecia is 1 mg. of finasteride. Propecia has been shown to cause side effects such as erectile problems in a small minority of users. Unfortunately, I appear to be in that small minority. Once my erection problems surfaced, I began looking for a solution.
Avatar m tn t know what to do.. should I try Monday Wednesday Friday propecia? I heard there is a 5mg propecia pill you can take once a week.. can that keep my ED at bay maybe? Can once a week maybe twice propecia keep my hair but my ED away? I don't get why this is happening to me now.. But what if that starts up my ED again.. what if that ruins the recovery I've been making off the pill.. I don't want permanent ED.. I'm only 22.. I don't want to lose my hair either..
Avatar n tn “Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby's sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.
Avatar n tn m on propecia...however, my doctor (being pretty cool), prescribed me 5mg Finasteride (i.e. Propecia). I split the pills in half, which is pretty close to the dosage for Propecia. The bottle lasts me two months, and costs me $5 because finasteride is covered on my insurance. I'm 28 years old, soooo....the insurance company DID need my doctor to verify the prescription. But like I said, he is cool :) See if your doc will hook you up the same!
Avatar n tn Are things better for you when you use marijuana? A course of Cipro is not unreasonable, but is not that likely to provide long term relief. A mild sedative may be more effective. The rectal exam that you had is a digital rectal exam and another one will not add anything. Examining your prostatic secretions has not been demonstrated to be beneficial making the diagnosis, though urine cultures before and after such an exam can be quite definitive in confirming this condition.
Avatar n tn About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Propecia since 2.5 years at variable doses(0.25 first 6months, 0.5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days.
Avatar f tn I am 25 year old guy.. I have hair loss. so the doctor prescribed me for propecia which i consumed last 50 days. for the first 30 days, i consumed one tablet per day and the last 20 days i consumed 2 tablets/day. I was also taking anti convolution tablet for a different reason from a different doctor for 10 days. Now i am having erectile dysfunction. So i stopped taking the pills now. Can anybody please tell me how many days it will take usually for reversing this condition?
Avatar n tn Since you have been taking it continuously estrogen levels will stabilize and the natural hair growth cycle might be restored. Long term use of hormonal contraceptives should be discouraged. You may try discontinuing the pill when you are trying to get pregnant. Give your hair extra nourishment and take a balanced diet. Avoid stress. For more details it is suggested to consult a dermatologist. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn Hello~The best way to treat dry mouth — known medically as xerostomia (zeer-o-STOE-me-uh) — depends on what's causing it. You can do some things to relieve dry mouth temporarily. But for the best long-term dry mouth remedy, you need to address its cause. To relieve your dry mouth: •Chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva.
Avatar f tn 5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case. I'm an avid bodybuilder whom exercises 5-6 days a week.

Avatar m tn As info, more than likely your is going to fall out with or without Propecia. I don't know how Propecia will effect the treatment drugs but some hair loss will be unavoidable. My mindset during treatment was the less drugs I had to take, the better off I was because the treatment drugs are very powerful and I didn't want my body to have to metabolize any more drugs than absolutely necessary.
Avatar m tn I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?
Avatar n tn I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination,it is very difficult to say anything, but some possibilities for your symptoms are poikiloderma of cavette(a chronic, non-cancerous (benign) skin condition in fair-skinned adults, which is probably caused by long-term sun exposure),keratoacanthoma(a rapidly growing skin cancer usually appearing as a volcano-like bump on the sun-exposed skin of middle-aged and elderly individuals) or skin carcinoma. I feel that an examination by a dermatologist will be the best.

Avatar f tn Hi - sorry for the long rant. I’m a 33 yr old male with no prior health issues. I take 1mg propecia for hair loss (been on it for a few years). 6 months ago I started getting urge to urinate frequently. Not extremely excessive but more than normal. I would just feel the urge. I can hold it in easily for hours. No issues with stream or flow. Symptoms lasted 2 weeks and went away on their own. They have come back now.
