Prometrium side effects taking

Common Questions and Answers about Prometrium side effects taking

prometrium

Avatar n tn put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet. My breasts hurt and I'm nausous now that I'm NOT taking Prometrium. Wondering if these are normal post medication symptoms or if I might actually be pregnant.
Avatar f tn I'm taking it too. I get dizzy if I don't take it with food or at least a snack. Otherwise, not many side effects.
Avatar f tn I'm on 200 mg of Progesterone 3 x a day. I'm not having the most glorious time with it...some um....irritating...side effects. It's to help your lining stay nice and thick to keep the baby from being m/c due to shedding of the lining. I've had 2 early m/c which is why they gave it to me. They told me I could go off it at 12 weeks.
1272624 tn?1395434357 HI Mel, Cramping is normal, are you taking Prometrium? I always had lots of side effects, felt preg, so I switched to Endometrin which has less side effects. My side effects with Prometrium was bloating, cramping, sore breast, etc. I think you should take two, one every 12 hours, because with only taking one, my AF does arrive, but taking two, it stays away like it is supposed to. Then you have a beta and if beta negative, you go off of progesterone and af arrives in 1-2 days.
Avatar f tn I'm taking prometrium (200mg) once a day at bedtime post ovulation. I should be 9 or 10 DPO. I've been taking it 9 days. I know that taking this can cause pregnancy symptoms, but my question is: does it build up and intensify as you take it day after day. Ex: my breasts are larger but the tenderness has been very mild, then disappeared, until last night. They were very sore on the sides mostly last night, but then this mornng they are tender all over.
Avatar f tn Also, is anyone taking Prometrium orally? What dose are you taking and what time of day do you take it? Are you worried about any side effects it may have on the baby?
Avatar f tn Yes, prometrium will delay your period as long as you are taking it. I also found that I ovulated earlier the next cycle, like my body wanted to stay on track. The side effects were hard on me. Tjimenez10- Enodometrin is much better, just started taking it back in May instead of Prometrium. A much better product for me with a lot less side effects. It did delay my cycle recently and once I got a negative BETA, I stopped taking it and 24 hours later my period started.
325477 tn?1250551309 I haven't used prometrium yet, but am scheduled to after my IUI next week. How many mg's are yall on? I think i'm scheduled to take 200mg vag suppository at bedtime, sounds like most people are on more than that, should i ask to do it twice a day>??? Did yall have any side effects from it? Thakns and GOOD LUCK!
Avatar f tn I took prometrium orally once. It made me dizzy, so I had to take it right before bed. Other than that no other side effects. I'm not sure if the vaginal pill has the same side-effects as the oral ones, though. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn I've been taking prometrium vaginally twice daily for 13 days now (started the day after my IUI) and on day 10, I started noticing a headache, a dull gnawing sensation on both sides of my head. It is day 14 of prometrium now (CD32) and I am still feeling this. If I bend over to pick up something it hurts even more.
419008 tn?1219536438 I think it did delay when my period started but not that I would get it. Also - the side effects of prometrium are the same as implantation bleeding and PMS - drove me super nuts. I would have sworn I wasn't pregnant the third go round with prometrium but in fact I was - due to deliver in July. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Has anyones RE ever discussed possible side effects to the fetus when using progesteron supplementation? I just read the insert for the gel Crinone and it mentions possible cleft palate and abdominal wall malfunctions. My RE didn't seem to know anything about this. What it didn't give in the insert was whether the difference between those taking Crinone and those not taking it was significant.
Avatar f tn Hello Doctor., I'm 28. I had 2 miscarriages, both lasted only 4w3d. I did all tests to find what was wrong. All results were normal, except a cyst in right fallopian tubes from HSG test. But my Dr. did not test progesterone levels so far. My period just started, my dr. asked me to take prometrium 200mg vaginally only after I have a positive pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn m getting close to the third. It was a horrible waiting game b/c the side effects of prometrium were just about the same as early pregnancy and PMS! Good luck.
Avatar f tn Have any of you used these? And what were your side effects? I'm taking supplements daily until AF comes (Hopefully AF WON'T come) and I've been feeling nauseous and crampy, but I'm not sure if these are side effects from the progesterone or what. Anyone else experience something similar?
1108951 tn?1258618690 t thin your uterine lining and dry out cervical mucus. also - there are far less side effects than on clomid. it's hard to tell when you will ovulate. its a good idea to start taking opks on cd 8. if i take femara cd 3 - 7 i usually ovulate around cd 12 or 13. if i take it cd 5 - 9 then its usually around cd 15 or 16. good luck!

Avatar f tn ESPECIALLY AFTER I READ ALL THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS I WAS LIKE OMG I REALLY DONT WANT TO TAKE THIS BUT EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE I HAVENT HAD NE SIDE EFFECTS WHAT SO EVER ACNE, WORRYING, STRESS, VOMITING, NAUSEA ETC.
775949 tn?1252645220 I had the same symptoms on Prometrium. I had to start taking it late at night so i wasn't affected by the side effects. I would get so dizzy the room literally felt like it was moving and i couldn't walk in a straight line then i would have a stomach ache, get super nauseous, then incredibly tired. It happened about half hour after i took the pill and would last for about 30-60 minutes.
Avatar f tn Anyone else taking meds while pregnant, such as Metformin (Glucophage) or Prometrium (progesterone)?! When were you told you could stop? I'll be running out of Metformin in a few days (I'll be over 11 weeks so not worried about it) and I was going to take the Prometrium up until week 12 (April 7th) but not sure if I should. Should I stop now? I don't want to stop and then miscarry because I didn't hold out another week.
Avatar f tn I took it at night so I never noticed any side effects except for the one day I forgot to take it at night and took it in the morning. Then I was super dizzy and probably shouldn't have driven! So then are you going to have to take it multiple times during the day? I literally took it right before I went to sleep and was fine. Good luck.
453798 tn?1262633421 Hormones have all sorts of side effects. The weird thing is my side effects change each time I am on them. The estrogen has made me nausiated once - even on a low dose. I guess this is why every pregnancy is different. My AF was a little delayed but I think that it was because it takes a few days to get those higher doses of hormones out of your system. You can't start until the levels drop to a certain low level.
175665 tn?1306459024 Any side effects? I am waiting on my test results and hopefully they will be open Wednesday so I can get the order and go in for my 2nd Beta as well.
Avatar f tn As a preventative measure, my RE prescribed prometrium for me. I was a little squeamish about taking the suppositories so I received the tablet form. I need to take 2 tablets 3x a day. I'm looking at the bottle right now and I'm a feeling anxious about it. I'm worried about the possible side affects. I'm scared about fooling around with my hormone levels. Please, please tell me I'm being silly.
