My gynac suggested me to take prometrium for 10 days after seeing a follicle. Its been 7 days now that i have stopped prometrium but still no periods. I have take HPT too in the past week and both the tests are negative.
I am confused if I am pregnant or not
Could some one suggest me here any solution.
Also, when should we take the HPT once we stop prometrium.
I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
The doctor also had me on the max of Glucophage (Metformin) 1,500 mg/day, with still no ovulation. So we went to a Fertility specialist and he said my GYN was doing everything right, but the next step would me hormone injections...or we could do ovarian drilling. I did the injections for 2 months only and it was $5,000. So we stoped there...
I have PCOS and i took my 5th provera tablet on the 19/01 and it is now day 8 after the 5th tablet and i still have no period, is this normal or should i go back to the dr. I read that it can take up to 10 to 14 days but my dr said it should only take a week. So im a little confused please help. I really want to start trying for a baby.
I was on Clomid 50mg cd5 to cd9. I did accupuncture twice a week for 3 weeks and 3 times after the IUI. my NP told me to use Prometrium twice a day after IUI which I did the last 2 cycles when I was on Clomid and my AF came before the end of 2ww. but now it's been 17 dpIUI and still no sign of AF. I've already stopped Prometrium althought my NP told me not to. I just don't want to have any false hope any more.
I had 4 follis size from 24 to 20. did IUI 48 hrs after the surge.

I took clomid 50(cycle2) on Jan 11th (3-7)after 5 days my period has started and i'm still bleeding with clots.Doc has prescribed me the prometrium 200 mg for 5 days to stop.Then he is asking me to take clomid100 for this cycle3. Has any one taken Prometrium for abnormal bleeding? and if so did this medicine really works??.Thanks for any advice, it's very much appreciated.
) I like to use natural progesterone (Prometrium) because if you were pregnant and the tests were all wrong, it would do no harm at all to the pregnancy. If you are not pregnant it will start your cycle and help to get rid of all those "PMS-y" feelings. I will often give my patients a couple of refills just in case it happens again--other doctors may not want to do that.
so i was told to give it about 6 weeks or so and i should see my period. i just went back to my dr. 3 weeks ago with still no period. my dr. was concerned to he prescribed me prometrium to take for 6 days, saying that it should cause me to get my period about 3 days after i stopped taking it. well, it's been 2 weeks now and i still haven't gotten my period. i've had extreme cramping and adominal pain everyday since i had stopped the prometrium.
Saw the doc on Oct 13 and did blood work and started Prometrium 400mg for 10 days to induce period. Finished Prometrium on Oct 22. Today is Nov 3 and still no period. My doc said I should get my period within a few days of stopping the Prometrium. Data for Prometrium says should get a period within 7 days. It's now been 12 days since stopping the Prometrium. The bloodwork showed hCG level at 1, TSH at 1.32 and Prolactin at 8.9. Appears no tissue left behind.
What my OB/GYN as well as my fertility specialist have prescribed me is a pill called Prometrium. I take that for 5-7 days out of the month and usually within two weeks of starting the first pill I have a period.
No. It's clear and regular. I'm not taking anything. I did Clomid during my period and then just a regular IUI (no injections).
My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
Hi Veronica i have just gone through the exact same thing. My ivf was also cancelled on day 8 due to poor response i'm currently on day 35 and still no sign of af hpt also -ve I think its just down to the meds messing up things i'm afraid its just a case of being patient and waiting.
This is my first time posting a question so bear with me.
I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.
While taking Prometrium for luteal phase defect, I got several faint positives on home pregnancy tests. But then I began bleeding (light but steady full flow). So I stopped taking the prometrium. I've been bleeding for a few days now--still more than spotting though less than before. But I decided to take another home pregnancy test anyways because something felt funny. Two different brands of test were positive, darker than before but still quite faint. What do I do now?
Had a period 4 days later and nothing since. Took OPK when I thought I should be Ovulating and I thought the test were + I had some spotting that week (Oct. 5-9) twinges on one side, everything I was reading was sounding like ovulation pain. Should have gotten AF around 10/21 and nothing I know it's only 12+ days late w/ 5 - HPT.
Around the 21-22 was extreamly nausous, thought it was AF eventhough never had those symptpoms 10/23 in the pm felt fine.
It just finished my last pill on Sat, so now a waiting game. A friend took prometrium for 5 days and had her period 4 days after she took her last pill. Heard it can take up to a week?
This is only my 2nd month with RE and 1st time I'm taking any type of meds besides BC. Then RE said she's going to put me on Estrace one my cycle comes? I'm hoping for the best? We also are trying to get pregnant. Isn't so frustrating!
