Avatar f tn I've taken a prenatal yoga class since 14 weeks. Im currently 36 weeks and feel amazing, can move around, dance - you name it, even though I have a big pregnancy belly ;) It ceeps me going. A plus is that my instructor is a doula and gives a lot of advice throughout the pregnancy and about birth and postpartum.
1900462 tn?1352775302 When did you guys start your prenatal yoga classes? Is it better to start your yoga as soon as you can so you can strengthen your pelvic muscles for labor later on or what? I was thinking it would be better to do it earlier and continue throughout the pregnancy but idk. What do you guys think?

Avatar n tn I am doing prenatal yoga now and love it. I at the beginning of my second trimester. A big part is finding the right instructor. I have been to two different ones and one was very concerned with how my pregnancy was so far and any previous injuries. I have had some problems with loose joints and she paid close attention to make sure I was doing poses right. The other instructor didn't talk to me at all and I wasn't as comfortable with her.
Avatar f tn But now all I can think about is starting my family. My question is do any of u ladies participate in prenatal yoga and if so do u feel it is beneficial to u?
Avatar f tn Never tried regular yoga but I started prenatal yoga at about 3 months, now 7 and it really helps with my hip and back pain. My hips usually get so bad I have to sit in a warm bath but I haven't done that at all this time around. I plan on continuing the yoga once I deliver. I've officially been converted!

Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.
Avatar f tn Thanks! Do you all take regular yoga or prenatal ? I already joined a gym and they have yoga classes a few days a week but not prenatal yoga.
