It has been 1 1/2 years since my last period. The only symptom I really experienced during that time was hot flashes. Recently I have been concerned that I was going through depression. Now I don't belive that is the case. Could I be experiencing mood swings due to menopause this long after my last period (1 1/2 years ago); even if I never experienced them when going thorugh menopause?

I had all the typical symptoms of menopause even though mine was surgical menopause. My ongoing problem is severe mood swings. About 5 years ago I found myself actually hysterical and didn't know what to do. I was to the point where I almost admitted myself to an Emergency Room for some kind of help. I asked my pulmonary doctor for something and he gave me something (I don't remember what) with the stipulation I see someone. I did.

what do you think I know women in their seventies on HRT..and having same problems as me ..dryness, sweating, mood swings and hot flashes...that are unbearable... I have used vagifem....tablets which you can look at on the internet to read about them..a hormone tablet inserted into the vagina... They are costly..but I do not think anything will help us but hormones such as these for the vaginal area... I burn all the time even using the vagifem..

Hi Maddie! I just want to offer a ray of hope. Most doctors don't (or won't) believe it, but there are some herbal OTC products that really can and do work for many of us. I have a pretty good idea of what you're going through. Last year at this time I was taking Premarin (same thing, but with no progesterone) to help with the horrible hot flashes and mood swings that I had been dealing with since my hysterectomy in January of '08.

As long as you still have your ovaries you shouldnt be going into early menopause i wouldnt think. Check with your gyn. If you are in menopause..........well welcome to the exclusive club!!!!!!!

It was a horrible drug to get on and even bigger bugger to get off. HOWEVER, it helped with the mood swings. Cannot say it did much for the flashing... a major side effect is SWEATING. So instead of flashing, it was a constant heat. I've been off for about a year, the hot flashes have subsided to rare occassions. One bad side-effect of Effexor is "lack of emotion". Seriously, I had gone from crying/mad/happy to nothing.

I feel bad cuz my mood swings r terrible, and the mood that is most prominent is bad....my poor hubby got his head bit off this morning along with my son and my friend from church....anyone else moody?

Iv been having bad mood swings lately. My husband thinks im crazy i try to control it but its so hard. I get Mad at him for no reason then we make up the next min. tips to help control it.

m 9w2d and was wondering if any other mummies to be are experiencing very high mood swings I seem to get very angry really quickly and I assume every remark said is stupid. How can I fix this problem? And btw it's only with my husband most of the time.

Thanks I mean my fiance is undstanding to he trys to help but sometimes my mood swings make me just want to be by myself especially if I get mad at something I don't know it scares me cause I try to think happy thoughts that my daughter will be here in just 10 weeks and stuff like that...

Yes. All of this is normal. My mood swings are random. I more so feel like I'm about to cry. When ppl have attitude or upset with me I just completely lose my patience.

in only 6 weeks and I have mood swings like crazy?.. Is this normal because I feel like it's not?....

With this being my 3rd pregnancy I'm fully aware of mood swings , but today I just want to punch my husband in the face! Everything he does is making me mad , I just don't want to be bothered with. He has talked to girls behind my back before and with being pregnant I'm flipping out 20x worse when his phone goes off! I just don't know what to do anymore.
