Avatar f tn I read another article this morning in US News that tells that as HRT use continues to decline, the incidence of breast cancer and breast cancer precursors is declining as well. You can read the article at the following link: http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/healthday/2009/11/12/less-hrt-fewer-cases-of-possible-breast-cancer.
Avatar n tn He flipped when he found out my mom had been on prempro that long. He told her in his opinion it was totally unnecessary and took her off of it. She's been just fine since that day and wishes she had stopped a lot sooner. I know that doesn't really answer your question, but it does let you know that someone in your age bracket did stop taking prempro and is functioning perfectly without it.
Avatar f tn She said she does not believe bioidenticals are any safer than Prempro and if I needed to have an adjustment in my Rx due to break through symptoms of hot flashes and severe brain fog along with zero energy then I needed to try something different than what I had been doing. I decided to give the Prempro a try against my better judgment to see if it helped me feel better because I was feeling pretty desperate! I took my 2nd dose today and I still hate it down to my very soul.
Avatar f tn I am 54 yrs. of age and have been period free for 8 yrs. Within the last year and a half I have been seeking treatment for horrible burning inside and out of the vaginal area. My doctor has done many tests and has said that I have vaginal atrophy (sp) and told me to use replens. She also recommended Prempro as I still have a uterus. I no longer have health insurance and can't afford the prempro and the replens DOESN"T work.
Avatar f tn The estrogen in the prempro may alter synthroid requirements, so when changing estrogen medications, we usually repeat TSH in 2 months.
Avatar f tn The next day, September 18, I abruptly stopped the Prempro and let my doctor know I felt I had been on the Prempro long enough and also due to the breast cysts. So for me it's only been a little over a month since I've stopped the Prempro. I was told I don't need to return for a year. That is amazing your screening showed no cysts after six months. this gives me hope.
Avatar f tn Hot flashes and osteopenia (pre-osteoporosis). Awaiting biopsy results for microcalcifications around or in ducts. Can prempro increase risk of BC, in particular, DCIS?
Avatar n tn i am 55 and i had been on birth control pills for 25 years to keep my periods regular now i went to a different Dr she told me i would not start menopause while i was taking the birth control pills so she put me on angeliq a hormone pill i started taking them and after 2 months my periods and after not having 1 for 6 months i started my period again which lasted almost a month i went back to Dr and she wants to put me on prempro i don't know if i should take the prempro or start taking my bi
Avatar f tn hormone imbalance put me on prempro I am still bleeding not as heavy been taking it for almost a month he told me it could take up to 3 months to even out in the mean time I think im going crazy cry one minute ok the next along with other issues. someone please help me before I go crazy. and drive the people around me crazy too. Thanks.
237053 tn?1258828426 I heartily requested I be able to go on Prempro to my GYN. He had me do the standard hormone therapy first, then allowed the Prempro. I was on it for over ten years and I felt it was very positive for my MS not to have periods! Then came the big Prempro crash and controversy. I stayed on it anyway for several more years without insidence then the pedulum swung back and some people have resumed its use again.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response. The last few years I've asked her if i really need the Prempro since I'm on a good plan to treat the osteopenia, and she always said it was okay to take the hormones. But now with this recent mammogram/ultrasound and the findings, I know it is time to quit. I will make a call to her today. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn After 2 days of taking Prempro I decided not for me. I think I need Progesterone and would like to know if others use the cream and what brand. Or any advice appreciated. Thank- you.
Avatar f tn 40 is a little young to start Menopause, but not unheard of, it can happen. I started @ 49, for 1 year, I would bleed for 7 weeks, then it stop, started, did that for a year. I have not had a period for 2 yrs now. I started gaining weight a little weight in my mid section, I also got very depressed. I'm not a depressed type, always happy, not moody. I had to go on Prempro, it took 2 weeks, I was better.
Avatar n tn It is good that your doctor is going to check your uterine lining to see why it is thick. The good news is that it usually takes up to 10 years of uterine thickening to turn into cancer. So while cancer of the uterus is possible, most likely it won't be. But it still needs to be diagnosed and treated. Talk to your doctor about lower dosages of estrogen and progesterone that might not cause the bloating. Alternative choices are also available.
Avatar f tn Hi RainSpirit, I recommend you check into bioidentical hormone pellets. These are small pellets of either estrogen or testosterone that get placed under the skin of your hip by a doctor that specializes in them. They don't have the highs and lows of creams, patches and pills. They bypass the liver when metabolized. I've had them 4 years and have never been happier. I started getting them every three months, now I go about every 4-5 months.
Avatar n tn It could be the prempro. Ask your doctor about going off of it for a few month and see if that helps. I heard that estrogen can cause congestion along with other medications. I too have non allergic rhinitis but mine is considered Vasomotor rhinitis.k I had this for 6 yrs. but I do not take any medication, just nasal steroid sprays and nasal rinses and it does not do anything. I even had sinus surgery - total ethmoidectomy, opening the ostia of the maxillary sinuses and partial turbinectomy.
535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar n tn i had a hysterectomy at 31 and not i am 45. i am on patches...but i get this awful numbness in the hands in the mornings..i didnt know weather it was something to do with the change. This discussion is related to Numbness in hands during sleep.
Avatar n tn In the past few months my blood pressure has been really crazy. The diastolic is always over 100 and my doctor has changed my medication now 3 times. Is there possibly an interaction between the Hoodia I'm taking to lose weight and the blood pressure?
Avatar f tn Just finished weaninf off the Prempro. Having sweats and flashes, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I am supposed to start Raloxifene. This may cause hot flashes. If severe enough, dr will rx Effexor to treat flashes. I have been reading such negative information about the side effects of Effexor, and even worse, the are withdrawal symptoms if you have to get off of it. Is there anyone reading this that actually had to take effexor along with Raloxifene?
Avatar n tn I take wellbutrin, prempro and maxide. Will the synthroid be okay to take with these and how long until I feel like myself again. I had the surgery a week ago...
Avatar n tn I thought the jury was out once again on whether Prempro (HRT) actually does increase the risk of breast cancer beause the study is believed by some to be flawed. The study was composed of mostly older women, who are at a higher risk. Also, I thought over the counter natural hormone remedies are not regulated by the FDA, thus they dont know if linked to breast cancer. This information might become outdated as I am writing this.
Avatar f tn With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age? I know the study talks about HRT that has progestin also but I am wondering what your thoughts are on all of this.
Avatar f tn txt Check out this link! Every now and then I just google Chiari and see if it is in the news anywhere! Sounds like someone or everyone here should do a bit more research!
798555 tn?1292787551 Thank god, because several lawsuits have been settled recently, for huge sums, asserting that these medications, especially PremPro, caused cancer. There are other lawsuits that assert the same in various stages of the trial process, yet the FDA continues to say they are safe and insurance companies and Medicare continue to carry them on their formularies and promote them over other forms of hormone replacement.
Avatar n tn My childrens Dr wanted to test to my daughter last year, she was fine. The following week she ended up in the hospital and her test was high. She had it repeated and I just got it faxed to me today results are T3- 3.0 t4- 1.33 TSH- 1.61 Im semi familiar with these but then they ran a test Thyroglobulin it is ABnormal but only has reference range of <1:10 and results 1.2500 ? Is this hashimotos? Totally confused.
Avatar f tn I believe columnar cell changes refers to cells found in a specific part of the duct. I dont know what apocrine metaplasia is, but the only findings of concern in my case was the ADH and LCIS, both of which have been found to increase the risk of invasive cancer. Good luck on your excisional.
