premarin

405614 tn?1329144114 org/posts/show/305871 I take Premarin during the placebo week of my bc pills, to ward off menstrual migraines. Also, I started using a Premarin cream twice a week after I saw the urogynecologist a week and a half ago. OK, so does anyone have any ideas as to whether any of the above could have flared me up? Or should I just accept the fact that this happens and stop racking my poor fuzzy brain?
1194973 tn?1385503904 They said since I've been breastfeeding for 4 months with no issue it shouldn't do anything. I'm going to call and see what it's for though. I remember them saying they prescribed me birth control pills and those are the only non-medicine pills I have. I don't think that's what they do though.
718868 tn?1230730029 I must say that premarin is one of the older, not so good hormone replacement products available. There are so many new and safer bioidentical hormones on the market like the vivelle. I would go back to my doc, get your hormone levels checked and demand to be put on one of the safer replacements. i don't mean to sound rude, but premarin is not a great replacement. It is made from the urine of pregnant mares (horses). They have different make ups than us humans.
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
Avatar f tn also have been CL here for quite some time, kearned much from others experiences, I can say with 100 % certainty that I personally think premarin is the WORST choice for hormone replacement. Could not begin to tell you how many have reported same as you. Premarin is made from urine of a pregnant horse. Bio-identical hormones are newer, safer and can be tailor adjusted for your own personal anatomy. I use Vivelle its a patch I only need estrogen for now, many need a combo.
Avatar f tn Then they noticed that cases of endometrial cancer among Premarin users were going through the roof - the Premarin was causing endometrial hyperplasia, which was placing these women at high risk of endometrial cancer. It was then that they developed Prempro, which adds progestins to the mix, and supposedly reduces these risks.
Avatar m tn After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed.
Avatar f tn THANK YOU ANNIE, I will ask her to RX that 4 me, she did say I was atrophy last year & I'm alone, as far as an older woman I am able to talk to. My Mom passed in 2006, since Mom passed, I feel alone when it comes to asking questions about sex. My NP said Premarin was expensive, I will check into Wild yam cream, probably cheaper. Plus, I was given hormone pills, I feel I don't need them, so I quit taking them ( atrophic ) did I phrase that correctly?
Avatar n tn If the TSH is 6 - you are hypothyroid and may need more medication. The need for more meds is likely due to premarin (estrogen binds thyroid hormone and increases the amount of replacement meds needed in many patients). The symptoms are mixed and may be more menopausal than thyroid.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy soon. The doctor wants to take my ovaries. My mom and both of her sisters have had hysterectomy's. My mother and 1 aunt had early onset of Alzheimers. both took premarin. I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried. I have Endometrosis and also prolapsed Uteris.
Avatar n tn I never seemed to do well on it years ago and I did better with premarin though I had lots of headaches. I had my hysterectomy uterus and ovaries removed in 2012. I took just premarin until 2015 and then stopped. I quit the estradoil and earlier this week I went back to my old Gyn and told him about the symptoms I am having. Insomnia is the worst, anxiety, depression. He put me back on premarin .625. I have been taking this for three days now.
880900 tn?1467270141 In Canada, after many years of taking Premarin, my doctor replaced this prescription with something labeled CES on the label. He told me that CES was a synthetic form of estrogen. Now that I've moved to Mexico, my doctor here doesn't know what I'm talking about and has put me back on Premarin, which is very expensive here. Can anyone tell me what the full name of CES is and/or where I can find more information about it? Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn The doctor recently advised me to add a Premarin tablet (the green one, small dose) to the Angeliq and I now have one or two hot flashes every day. It is getting to the stage where I feel that I cannot take it anymore and don't know which way to turn. Other than the hot flashes, I am fine healthwise, just seem to be putting on weight which is not good either. Does anyone have any suggestion?
1367840 tn?1278194075 I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago in my early 30's. I have been on Premarin since....625mg. At 52, do I need to continue the pills? I figure I'm at or close to being menopausal. Thanks!
Avatar f tn can you buy an over the counter drug like premarin? i know that premarin is estrogen, so what med would i look for/ i thought maybe they had an otc brand. not the creams but pills. would i look in the vitamin section of my store? im sorry for all the questions.
Avatar n tn My Dr now says there's some questions being asked about premarin being given after a historectomy. It can make the cancer worse in some cases, Depending on the type of cells.
Avatar m tn i had a full hysterectomy 4 yrs ago and I suffer vaginal dryness along with pain during sex. and there is scar tissue that seems to hurt me most all the time. I was on hormone medications for 3 yrs and just recently switched to natural herb hormones black cohosh and since then the vaginal dryness has gotten worse. I have no desire or libido. I have tried vaginal gel such as ky, water, what can I do to help these problems?
Avatar n tn My TSH is 0. My T4 is 12.3. (I do take Premarin.) My T3 Uptake is 30.2. I had my right tyroid gland removed in 1983. There was a benign tumor. I used to have a 2 reading for my TSH. (I had been taking Synthroid .1 for all of these years.) At Christmas I tried Armour. I was in bed for 3 weeks with what I thought was flu. My doctor put me back on Synthroid and gave me 1.33. The subesequent test showed 1/2 pt.TSH, so she began cutting the dosage. I am now at .
Avatar f tn I was instructed to stop taking my Premarin (lowest dose), for 6 months at a time for fear of Heart related issues. I have done it before, but experience dryness. I had my hysterectomy in 03 (I'm 46), and haven't had intercourse now for almost two years (for several reasons). For whom this concerns; I've been suggested to try premarin creams, but how often do I use it and do they work?
8725523 tn?1399590462 I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with either Osphena or Premarin vagnal cream? I had a total hysterectomy at 28yrs old and have been taking hormone replacement ever since. I am now 41. I suffer from numerous migraines a month and am concerned about taking the oral option for fear of increased migraines d/t the estrogen.
Avatar f tn how long can i take a hormone medicine,,,i am worry about my breast, my hormone is premarin This discussion is related to Fibroanoma.
Avatar n tn BTW I personally have major issues agaist premarin just my opinion,,,please go bio-identical ,,,Premarin is made from horses urine ..bio idential is as close as humanly possible to your own natural hormones...
Avatar m tn My gyno told me that he didn't think I needed HRT at the time of hysterectomy. Tried patches in hospital & they burned my skin. He said he didn't think I actually needed the HRT anyway. I've considered seeing a specialist in Bioidentical Hormones. I was never able to even take birth control pills because they made me feel terribly moody & mean. Perhaps I shud just revisit my gyno & go from there. Thx!
Avatar f tn I am assuming that you mean you are on Premarin. If I am wrong, I apologize. I have never been on Premarin, which is a synthetic hormone (as I am sure you know) and was used quite exclusively for years for menopausal symptoms. It was also the hormone used in the big logitudinal study abruptly stopped in 2002... checking on the efficacy of womens hormones on the effect they would have on heart disease in women. The study was flawed from the start, however.
Avatar f tn The new doctor wants me to put my surgery on hold. He really believes it's my hormone levels are to low. Had my ovaries removed in December and put on premarin 0.625mg. I told him I was having these symptoms before my surgery, but they have got worse since my surgery. He feels I was in early menopause and when they removed my ovaries it made my symptoms that much worse. He switched me from Premarin to Estrotest and wants me to give him 2 months to make me feel better.
