I had a look at the listed side-effects and at what people are saying about it at askapatient.com, and it looks as if the headaches and blood pressure problems you experienced with Zoloft are very commonly reported with Effexor as well.
I had to quit taking Premarin in December because of the physical side-effects I was having – swollen and VERY sore breasts, terrible aching pains in my knees and hips, and edema in my claves and ankles.
Thanks for responding. I have been on HRT, that's why I am seeking something alternative. HRT made me crazy..even on the lowest dosage. I foun d one bioidentical online that actually contained MSG as an ingredient and I am horribly sensitive to that, gives me migraines, which is also one of the lovely s/e of menopause.

He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
I had my hysterectomy uterus and ovaries removed in 2012. I took just premarin until 2015 and then stopped. I quit the estradoil and earlier this week I went back to my old Gyn and told him about the symptoms I am having. Insomnia is the worst, anxiety, depression. He put me back on premarin .625. I have been taking this for three days now. He mentioned about the progesterone for sleep but was wanting to wait and see how I do with just the premarin. I gave it two days still poor sleep.
I took the Clomid because my doctor said that I was not ovulating. I took it so my chances of becoming pregnant would increase however my test came up negative on 12/04/13. Should I continue with the clomid for my next cycle. I'm still having side effects today I have a little fever and back pain plus upset feeling after lunch... The side effects won't go away... Should I continue clomid??
When they prescribed this medication to your baby, they should have informed you of the potential side effects. I would say that it is almost definitely expected that she was going to develop pubic hair as a result of this medication. And if she were older, maybe even 8 or so, I may have expected even more than that, like possibly development of breasts and such.
I'm sorry that you are dealing with this. I wouldn't sweat it though.
and treating the symptoms can be done w/the use of HRT and Premarin. If this is so, does anyone know how long it will take for the medicine to induce menopause, and how long will the medicine be needed to treat the symptoms? Since i'm uninsured and my period is making me very sick, especially those debilitating migraines, (probably, because i'm too old now) I'm trying to find a way to help myself. Thanks!
I know that I will probably most likely need something to even me out and I understand that bio-identical hormones, balance between estrogen/progesterone/testosterone, and side effects are major issues with this. rapid heart rate, severe headaches at the back of my neck & head, muscle cramping of calves, hands & feet. Now I am experiencing additional symptoms of chills, slight fever ( under 100), pelvic discomfort, continued uncle cramping, bad headaches as well as continued bleeding, all happening after sundown each day. Seeing surgeon, my ob gyn, Wednesday. What am I dealing with? Has the Pro Lift mesh caused an infection? Where does the bleeding come from?
You sound a bit like me, I had hyster a year ago and bso, 6 weeks ago, am on hrt patch and take paxil, I also have thyroid problems and take synthroid.
it would seem to me that either your hrt is having new side effects or something else is off with your hormones, Combined with an increase in anxiety and depression I would say you definatley need some blood work, are you up to date on your mamograms??
I had a total hysterectomy in Feb. this year and I opted not to go the HRT route. My gyn is the type that kind of pushes HRT too, but I still will not take it. I am dealing with the same as mcclos10, the side effects of menopause and I can tolerate it too, but of course I'm not a very good candidate for HRT anyway - I have a history of blood clots and having that type of history I wouldn't risk it on my life. I also agree with Madge, you need to work more closely with your doctor.
So he gave me Provera 10mg for 10 days and tells me to stop taking Premarin. Two weeks later I come back for sonogram, and the findings above is what I see on the paperwork, but, the doctor comes in and says.,have you ever had a biopsy of the uterus? I said I don't think so, he says I would like to do one, your uterus is large and we wanna make sure you don't have pc, or uterine cancer?
in 84 and was on vivelle patch for most of those years. Just estrogen and no progesterone. I was fine until a few years ago and it just got worse. I became so estrogen dominant and became a total mess. I went to a very good hormone imbalance seminar a few days ago and it was great. I think if you went off, you'll regret it in time. There are so many symptoms with low or no hormone production.
I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
The pain got much worse and I was not feeling myself so I stopped taking the premerin and opted to try a product I found on line called Amberen, so far that isnt doinganything for the hot flashes and night sweats at all but since stopping the premarin my legs are not bothering. I am taking calcium pills for my bones but I am truly worried for my health and want to find the best options for me.
I take Premarin .625 mg. I am 39 and had my ovaries removed last April. I had major hot flashes and night sweats the day after surgery. I just had a check up w/my primary Dr and she is concerned that I am not taking enough HRT since I am so young and she feels my bones need the Estrogen. I am officially confused...............take HRT - DON'T take HRT - take MORE HRT ??????????????
It is such a hard decision and depends on your body and what it needs.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
