5210218 tn?1365167402 t dounbt that you have some depression issues but to me it sounds more like PTS (post traumatic stress), or it may even be PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I think the best thing you can do is try to continue with the counseling. Depression works a little differently than PTSD. The symptoms you are describing with the anger and fear sound a lot like PTSD.

Avatar m tn I looked up Prazosin and it stated that it was a blood pressure medication but was now also being used to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Is that why they are prescribing it? Did they explain your diagnosis and what each medication is for? Ask them what is being treated and how each medication helps and where the physical symptoms may have come from. You have a right to be an informed consumer as regards treatment.

I have been fired or had to quit several jobs because of this disorder. I just simply can't hold down a job. I want to apply for disability but am afraid to for fear of going through that long process and paper work and telling people that I can't work at the age of 28. I'm afraid of being turned down and having no way to support myself.

Avatar f tn Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder as I understand so yes it can be one reason your heart failure developed. I strongly believe mine happened because of high stress level for years and very high for a few months. Even with family history, viral infection, and long time not treated high blood pressure that all also factors, and I had them all ,if the stress level wasn’t that high that I had I probably never get down that suddenly and badly.
