i tested negative 5 months post exposure. i recently developed pneumonia and i read on the internet that thats an early indication of an infection? any truth? please help. i thought i was done with worrying.

Darn, erased my message by accident...actually I did find out that my pneumonia was caused by my swallowing while I was in the hospital before. They sent me home with some guidelines which I tried to following but I eveidently didnt do enough. I saw and talked to saw so many Drs and nurses while there....but my mind just gets bogged down with so much information plus I was sick.

When I was in the hospital I was tested for everything and also found out what was causing the pneumonia. I was given some guidelines to help prevent the pneumonia and the acid reflux...evidently I didnt do so good and got the pneumonia. I am doing very well now, nothing like a slap in the head to get me going. I am eating correctly now, even if I am overdoing it its fine. I will do anything to get rid of this. I have never used steriods for a flare..think it might help?

My question is are there any guidelines/protocol for stopping tx if your ALT/AST reaches 150 each even though you are UND? Mine have been consistently rising each week and today, week 25, my AST=130 and ALT=124. My Hepa Dr said we would have to stop tx if they both reach 150. I cannot find any information on this anywhere. So any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was misdiagnosed with so many illnesses before I was told I had Lyme. Lupus and MS among them. I was given steroids and wound up in the hospital on a ventilator. My case was extreme but I would not take the risk with steroids unless closely monitored by a physician. In some cases, like pneumonia, a Lymie friend was given steroids, she was in the hospital and closely monitored so she did fine. As for me, I wouldn't want to take a chance but that is my opinion.

I had to use hospital stuff for surgery but was able to use my own stuff once moved to a room:) (I didn't bring sheets but did pjs) I was more comfortable without something under my head and bed elevated but we all differ in preference.

9 year old daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia last night. Now she is complaining that she is having lower back pain. Is this kidney infection?

I'm a 32 year old male in Canada. I'm 185lb,5'9". I've had a dull chest pain on my left side right under my armpit area and around to the center of the chesty for the past 4 months. I've been ignoring it as it was such a dull pain I'd almost call it a sensation instead of pain. So I had the flu last week as did my whole family. I was hit hard, very weak, major headache, neck and back ache, fever. Never developed much coughing but felt a bit phlegm.

My husband had flu and pneumonia April of 2017. Had xrays taken by his rheumatologist in Aug 2017 and there was a shadow on his lower right lobe where the pneumonia was. On the 6th of this month (Dec) a follow up xray was taken and two days after they called and said the radiologist recommended a no contrast ct scan. So (two days ago which would have been the 11th) we made an appointment to have it done on the 18th of Dec. Today they called and now want to do the contrast. What is going on?

My Friend has had Pneumonia, Empyema was in the hospital for a week while they weren't sure he'd made it through surgery then recovered, he was home for 6 weeks following the hospital stay and is back at work now. I Just got out of the hospital after a bout with pneumonia. It didn't look good at first,so they tell me, but here I am. I began shivering uncontrollably and when I got to the hospital I kept passing out. According to the nurses and my grandaughter I was a total mess. My baby has been diagnosed with pneumonia, a week ago. She still acts as if she is in pain, and has short rapid breaths. She is on Zeniquin, and a pain med. She was originally in an oxygen kennel for 2 days, and was pretty good when we brought her home. Now it seems like she gets these bouts of gasping for air, her gums are still pink. Hi I'm 3months ago I had a baby that was born at 34 weeks due to pneumonia cardiogaly... I've been in icu because of my critical state after coming out of the hospital I did an echocardiogram privately n it said that my heart is not swollen but the walls are thick. My questions are could the swelling go down could that cause breathing problems cause I suffer from panic anxiety disorder is that where the breathing problem coming from?
