1056589 tn?1273747102 me neither..I love the summer really but I like the spring...I am tired of the white stuff...I can't wait to see all my plants come back to ifee and start popping out of thee ground..i love to sit on my deck and have my morning shot of caffeine with my pooch and listen to the birds with the sun on my face..peaceful..quiet and tranquil... 8265858 tn?1403378544 As I did, I had a thought. This garden is going to be like me. That garden plot was a big pile of weeds these past few seasons. Because I would make excuses about being to busy to do the work. So as I recover and reap the benefits of my sobriety so I will reap the benefits of our garden. ;) It's all about perceptive and a positive attitude!
Avatar m tn 18 days to spring equinox, just cleaned out the garden beds of winter mulch. Waited for rain to wet the leaves and started a new compost pile for 2015 gardens. Chicken pen is cleaned out and mixed in the like. I pulled the rotting heirloom fruit from last fall and am trying the seeds. We props gated some sage and thyme as we cut them back. I'm saving the salvia officianalis to harvest first spring growth to dry for winter. It's time to make potting soil and clean some prolongation trays.

Avatar m tn I was just wondering with the current economic conditions who is planting a garden this year? If you are what are you planting and how many will it feed and for how long? If you are not, why not? I would really like to hear from both sides on this one. My family always had a garden when I was growing up and my Mom and Grandmas would can and/or freeze veggies. These would last us almost a year and cut the cost down considerably.

717272 tn?1277590780 winner, thanks for the heads up. We are planting this weekend, a bigger garden than I ever imagined planting. Hope it doesn't kill me LOL. I was gonna buy Preen for weed control but my friend at the greenhouse sold me a 20 lb bag of corn gluten which is what the garden Preen is. More for the money, lots more. Hubby's adult kids are are supposed to help, we'll see how much help I get. Girls, I got 2 new stepables today, I will get some pics soon.
Avatar n tn We cannot say if this is definitely what he has eaten but blood tests and and an xray have ruled out diseases or a blockage. He was having a good rummage around my parents garden and may have eaten some soil containing pellets from last years planting. He is a 10 month old jack russell/border terrier cross. He has been off his food and vomiting for 2 days now.

Avatar f tn Anyway, we had a really warm day so I started clearing rocks out of the places where I want to garden. Oh my goodness! There are so many rocks and I have no clue what to do with them all? They're ugly, too (like cement, just a white-grey). Some are so large I have to roll them. So my first question is- what do you do with rocks from your yard? Second, HELP ME! I have no idea and no inkling of how to garden. I don't even know all that I want to plant.
1972798 tn?1355549267 ) My husband and I went after church and picked out some flowers for my hanging baskets. It was so fun planting them and being out in the sun. We also got veggies for my garden so I can plant those this week. Im excited for next weekend to be able to put in a patio under our tree :) It will be lots of work but we are moving a bunch of slate to crate a little seating area. Just nice to have some warm weather finally to be out in and get a little sun.

Look for plants that can be grown in zones 3 or 4. That means they will be winter hardy for your area. 209987 tn?1451935465 My mom says that her Osteoarthritis does NOT cause her hands to become red, hot, and swollen every morning. She says they become stiff, swollen, and painful. I just read elsewhere that her symptoms are typical of osteoarthritis...mine are not. In fact, the article said that red and hot are not signs of osteoarthritis at all, but they could be symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, major organs shutting down, allergies, etc. My doctor looked at my hands one day and said that I had osteoarthritis...
