Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine with other drugs

phentermine

397118 tn?1219762250 Phentermine should only be taken by obese people with no other health problems. I can't imagine a doctor prescribing it to someone on antidepressants. If you are taking Sub also, I think it is out of the question.
Avatar f tn I don't know what phentermine is, but there will be no probs taking levo with methadone, as long as it's not at the same time... levo is taken on an empty stomach with nothing for 30minz to an hour afterwards..
Avatar n tn Hello, Phentermine can alter your blood sugar levels, if you are going to try using it please use it with caution and monitor your blood sugar levels more frequently... if you notice changes and if your blood sugars are becoming too low then stop taking phentermine, and seek further advice about what you could use instead of phentermine. Remember that diabetes should be your priority.
Avatar n tn I have done Phentermine and Fastin and other pills and patches and things you put in your coffee and stuff you do every other day and on and on.... Feb 15, 2011- I decided enough was enough. I finally accepted that to lose weight, I will have to actually Get Up Off The Couch and DO something. I started by walking on a treadmill (started at a mile) and now I am up to 2 miles. I have cut out 99% of sodas and sweet tea. No junk food.
Avatar f tn Am I on the right track with this with wanting to request trying Phentermine in combination with mt Metformin? Is there something else that I need to be considering?
Avatar f tn Usually low, key, happy person. Was diagnosed with Hypothyrodism 2 1/2 yrs ago. In August 2010, finally got my levels to be within normal limits. Was starting to feel better, but Dr. gave me generic Wellbutrin (125) because i couldn't stop crying. Felt like I was starting to go crazy. Went back in Dec 2010 and labs showed that my thyroid levels were completely out of whack. Dr. increased my levoxyl to 125 and generic Wellbutin to 300.
Avatar n tn You should also be aware that Phentermine interacts with many prescription drugs, and it is important to inform your doctor about any medication you are taking or intend to take.
429963 tn?1205437753 I was taking phentermine for weight loss, ordered over the internet, up until a year ago. It was after I stopped taking the drug that the onset of my bipolar symptoms became observable. Knowing that SSRI's can have this effect, I was wondering if the phentermine could have played a role in the onset of my disorder.
Avatar f tn I take a half of 37.2 phentermine and .150 synthroid can that throw my TSH out of wack. Are you suppose to take these two together. What can it cause if anything?
Avatar n tn They are contained on my torso, sides and back - these presented after about 3 days on Phentermine, and I cannot belive that I would end up with 30+ mosquito bites in one day - they all appeared overnight. Can this be a reaction to the Phentermine?
Avatar f tn m also taking the same two And I have constant migraines. The two clash with each other I tried to stop the cymbalta and the pain was massive and I felt like I was dying!

Avatar f tn Years later, people are dying from pulmonary hypertension caused by those drugs. Yet at the time, they thought they were harmless. The same could happen with phentermine in the future. I've lost over 40 pounds since September, with diet and exercise alone. It can be done safely, and without drugs. Sure, its slower...but the slower the better when it comes to weight loss. The safest rate to lose is 1 to 2 pounds a week.
Avatar n tn I'm in the process of switching to a new dentist and the new patient form I had to fill out asked "Have you ever taken any combination of the drug known as 'fen-phen'. This includes phentermine (Adipex, Fastin, etc) and/or fenfluramine (Pondimin)." What does it matter if I have taken this? I haven't taken fen-phen, but I have and do occasionally take phentermine?
Avatar f tn You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine. Its bad enough that you run the risk of heart problems with Phentermine but adding energy drinks to that just adds to the risk. I took Phentermine for a while. I never drank energy drinks because I cant stand them but I now have heart problems because of the Phentermine.
1460292 tn?1285764089 I have been on Phentermine twice and lost about 40 lbs each time. Of course I yoyo back up and now I have about 15 to 20 lbs I would like to drop. But I don't think I can get another RX for it. Every time I go, the Dr. is hesitant about giving it to me. I really love it though because it makes me not having any will power against food not a factor. And I love the energy it gives me. Does anyone have any suggestions for some alternatives, for the energy or appetite suppressant?
Avatar f tn Everyone is different and what might be too high a blood pressure for me could be just fine for you. From what I've read, phentermine is not usually given to those with high blood pressure. I agree that you should talk to your doctor and make sure he understands your blood pressure issue. I also agree that you should look eliminate hypothyroidism as a cause of your weight issues.
Avatar f tn m allergic to dust, among many other things. I went off the Phentermine, and the wheal never went away, but it didn't bother me too much either. At this point I had not made a connection between Phentermine and hives. Then I went back on Phentermine again at the beginning of August, and hives came on vehemently, all over the body. Mine are small red dots primarily, though at the beginning, they were large. Typically now they vary in size, texture, etc.
Avatar n tn Am so sorry you have been struggling with weight for so long but, most respectfully, would suggest that phentermine is not the route to take. I, too, struggled with weight for many, many years. Perhaps you will allow me to share with you what I learned. Weight loss is attainable but there is not a pill or a shot that is going to fix it for us. If there were, everyone who have taken it and obesity would not be prevalent in our society.
Avatar m tn Going through day 3 again. The only thing I hate more than being addicted to phentermine is having to repeat days after another failed attempt. My body hurts and I'm not in a very good mood. does anyone no how long before your moods starts to get better?

Avatar n tn I miscarried last Wednesday Nov. 21 at 8 weeks & 3 days. My pregnancy was totally unplanned. I'm 39 will be 40 on 12-3. I started taking Phentermine for weight loss in June and am down 54 pounds. When I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking the drug. However, I was pregnant for 3 weeks before I knew, so I was taking the Phentermine that whole time. I know everything I've read said there is no link between miscarriage and the weight loss pill Phentermine.
Avatar n tn m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Avatar n tn I am very addicted to phentermine (diet pills). How long does withdrawal take? Can I taper? Must I be hospitalized?
Avatar f tn Does anyone here have experience with Phentermine? My doctor let me talk him into it for weight loss last June. It's supposed to be only taken for 8-12 weeks, but since I've kept losing weight and my blood pressure stays low, he's kept refilling my prescription. I take 37.5 mg once a day. I know this drug is a stimulant, etc. and it can become addictive. Every once in a while-- like today-- I don't take it, just to see if *not* taking it bugs me.
