I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?

I've wanted to try some sort of diet pill that will either speed up my metabolism or reduce my appetite to help me lose weight along with my excercise (3-4 times a week). However, I'm hesitant to putting extra chemicals and whatnot in my body. Also, they tend to be expensive so I want to get something that actually works. Any suggestions??

I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.
I know its not heart attack as there are no other heart attack symptoms and the pain has been there all day. Its kind of on the whole top of my chest from left to right. The middle of my back and shoulder blades too. Its worse when lying down and breathing deeply.
And now in the later part of the day I have a lot of wind like burping. The pains are still there from the morning. I have a BP machine at home as my husband has history of high BP.
m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Hey Jenn I just saw your post. I too have a similar history of taking Phentermine with severe depression a year later. How are your symptoms now?

My daughter and son-in-law were both on phentermine for a few months. Neither of them lost huge amounts of weight and when they went off the pills, they gained back everything they lost, plus some. Both are grossly overweight.
A good weight loss program has to include diet and exercise or no amount of pills are going to work/have a lasting effect.
if you notice changes and if your blood sugars are becoming too low then stop taking phentermine, and seek further advice about what you could use instead of phentermine. Remember that diabetes should be your priority.
You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine. Its bad enough that you run the risk of heart problems with Phentermine but adding energy drinks to that just adds to the risk. I took Phentermine for a while. I never drank energy drinks because I cant stand them but I now have heart problems because of the Phentermine.
No personal experience of phentermine but a quick google tells me it's an appetite supressant?
You still need to eat, otherwise you won't lose weight.

I decided to go to a local Weight Loss Clinic because I had already exhausted my options, and they prescribed 30mg of Phentermine as an appetite suppressant.
I didn't really realize the risk of dependency or how powerful this drug could be. I went from 150 lbs to 140 lbs in about a month and have stayed there, although that isn't my ideal weight. However, I didn't want to become addicited or reliant on a Rx.
I have been taking Phentermine for about a week and I have a lot of red, ichy bumps (they look and are symptomic as mosquito bites generally behave). If I didn't know better I would think they were mosquito bites! They are contained on my torso, sides and back - these presented after about 3 days on Phentermine, and I cannot belive that I would end up with 30+ mosquito bites in one day - they all appeared overnight. Can this be a reaction to the Phentermine?

I started taking Phentermine 30 mg daily on Feb 4, 2009. To date I have not lost a pound. Infact I gained a 2 lbs. I have increased my exercise on my Elliptical (30-60min/day) and started to eat healthier. How long does it take for phentermine to kick in? Any advice? Anything I should say to my physcian?
I have done Phentermine and Fastin and other pills and patches and things you put in your coffee and stuff you do every other day and on and on....
Feb 15, 2011- I decided enough was enough. I finally accepted that to lose weight, I will have to actually Get Up Off The Couch and DO something. I started by walking on a treadmill (started at a mile) and now I am up to 2 miles. I have cut out 99% of sodas and sweet tea. No junk food.
