You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. Hi does anyone know of a weight loss clinic in Houston that will prescribe phentermine. I am 5'3 and i have recently gained 10 lbs and now I weigh 143 lbs..I went to a weight loss clinic that I went to a couple of years ago to lose wight, but they will not prescrie it to me, the say that I am not overweight enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I stopped taking the medication and one week later (during my cycle when I usually have mild acne) - I have the worst acne in my life!!! It has to be from the phentermine. I'm going to be seeking out other ways to continue weight loss.

The aripiprazole, (Abilify) is usally added as an adjunct to antidepressants, and some people exhibit a hypersensitivity to it. My biggest concern is the the phentermine hydrochloride, which is calssfied as an "anorexiant/appetite suppressant," and is meant for SHORT TERM use, (8-12 weeks MAX) as an adjunct for weight loss. You've now been on it for 7 months. Did your doctor tell you to continue taking this medication?
I just started Phentermine 37.5mg last week. I haven't had a weigh in yet but I have noticed that I have cut way back on my food intake. I have talked with friends that have taken it in the past and they said that they got the best results when they combined it with a good, healthy diet and started exercising. That could be the jump start you need if you haven't started working out yet!
Yes Phentermine is the generic name. I was told the same thing yesterday that they aew usually only prescribed for 3 months. I don't know why my Dr. is still giving them to me then. I guess just because I have been having success with them still. Anyways thank you for replying.
They are contained on my torso, sides and back - these presented after about 3 days on Phentermine, and I cannot belive that I would end up with 30+ mosquito bites in one day - they all appeared overnight. Can this be a reaction to the Phentermine?
Wait it out. Phentermine is nothing but caffeine, and the pharmacist and doctor should have told you to reduce your caffein intake. If they didnt, then it was in your package insert when you get the medicine filled.
Right now all you can do is wait it out. Rest, drink lots of water and NO MORE ENERGY DRINKS. Never, ever do that again. You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine.
I have been taking Phentermine for about 3 weeks. I have been going to the gym daily 30-40. I watch what I eat. I mean I don't eat much and I still can't seem to lose weight. I am not hungry so I don't eat much

Phentermine can alter your blood sugar levels, if you are going to try using it please use it with caution and monitor your blood sugar levels more frequently... if you notice changes and if your blood sugars are becoming too low then stop taking phentermine, and seek further advice about what you could use instead of phentermine. Remember that diabetes should be your priority.
so I only took a half of one in the AM then put a piece of bread in the other side of cap. for the next day and skipping one out of every 4 days.
I lost 48#s in 6 months with eating right and working out. The weight came back within a year. I do have issues with light chest pains every couple minutes and a heart rate that goes from low to high fast or visa versa. I don't know if this helps or not.
I would try to loose it on your own though as mentioned above before using any pills.
I started taking phentermine 35 mg B12 lipotropic shots once a week I have been on the program for two weeks this is my third week I go to the doctors to weight in on Fridays. The first week I lost 8 pounds the second week I lost 5 pounds, I hope I lose another 5 on Friday. I need to lose about 40 pounds in total. I have cut out all junk food and I could not do that on my own before the program, I constantly crave chocolate and chips and hard candy.
My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.
I have increased my exercise on my Elliptical (30-60min/day) and started to eat healthier. How long does it take for phentermine to kick in? Any advice? Anything I should say to my physcian?
