Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine and victoza

phentermine

Avatar f tn pen in use and thrown away after 30 days between 59°F and 86°F, or kept in fridge at previously mentioned temps. If Victoza has been exposed to temps above 86°F it should be tossed and not used. If in doubt, toss it. As far as your 'swelling', are you rotating your injection site? Do you have pain in that area? Any itch? One of the most common types of 'swelling' is called Fatty Lumps [lipohypertrophy].
Avatar m tn I just started Victoza a few days ago and it's already affected (reduced) my appetite. I also don't seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ...
Avatar f tn Well, victoza will start off making you have nausea, vomiting sometime. You will get past this, it can take up to three months. After that I just kind of never felt right but thought I was just going to have to deal with this the rest of my life! Than about at 10 to 12 months I started to have severe stomach pain which I thought was my gall bladder. I was probably having pancreatic attacks, but never went to the hospital to have blood work; very stupid idea by the way.
Avatar n tn I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.

Avatar f tn Does anyone know what type of reaction one is likely to get by mixing Metformin and Victoza with meds for Hep C? These are non insulin meds. I am particularly interested in the interaction with Victoza which is a good stabilizer. Both of these meds can cause some stomach distress.
Avatar f tn In the beginning, Victoza was God sent to me. My apetite decreased and I dropped 15 pounds in about 4-6 months. And I did not experience nausea at any time. Then, all of a sudden the weight loss stopped. My weight loss became stagnated and have been ever since. It has been 2 years since that time and while my blood glucose level and A1C is good, I have gained the 15 pounds back and more. No matter what I do, I cannot lose weight.
Avatar m tn I have been on Victoza for years and didn't think I had any side effects and my sugar levels were the best they've been in years so I have been really happy with doing the daily injections. I started out on the lowest dose,0.6. Gradually the dosage increased to 1.2. Just recently I was taken off of Glyburide and increased my Victoza dosage to the larger dose. My doctor thought this would help me to lose weight since I've been gaining, not losing.

Avatar f tn I would also Google drug interactions between Victoza and any other medication, vitamins, and supplements you are taking to see if there is a link. Also, might suggest having your thyroid checked. As far as I know a malfunctioning thyroid may cause fatigue and depression of sorts. The FDA has asked Novo Nordisk [the maker of Victoza] to perform a 5 year study to see if there is a link between Victoza and thyroid cancer.
2125647 tn?1338651465 Just wanted to say how hard and frustrated I was stuck at 215 down from 245 at my top weight. Went to see my Dr. who told me he went to a convention and mentioned maybe Victoza would help. I was so frightened to take daily needles and thought I just cannot do that to myself, but I decided to try it for my health because I am now pre diabetic and don't want to advance into quote status : diabetic My father just had his toes amputated and I don't want that in my future.
Avatar f tn After initial diagnosis I was able to control this very well, and I was started on Metformin and Victoza - I brought my A1C down to a 7 from a 10. In the last 6 months my blood sugar numbers have gone up suddenly to A1C 8.8 despite no change to medication etc, and over the last 6 weeks I have had unusual lower leg swelling. Also, now my "liver enzymes & function are at 86." Of course the nurse didn't specify which, but they sent me for an upper quadrant ultrasound.
Avatar m tn Being a Veteran and on VA benefitsI was barely able to afford Victoza by purchasing from Canada, since the US Government (Bamacare) stopped shipments of that med from Canada I had to purchase it from a US distributor at twice the price, can't afford it and it's replacement Januvia isn't working, Blood Sugar in the 200s and gaining weight. Any suggestions???
Avatar n tn I'm a type II diabetic, diagnosed in 2001. I have been on victoza since around November of 2011. I wasn't considered overweight (147 and 5'7" tall). I have lost nearly 23 pounds and can't stop losing, it seems. My lack of appetite is real concerning to me as well as the other side effects and the effects on my liver and kidneys. I would love to get off this drug for sure.
Avatar n tn Ugh. I take Metformin and Victoza too and my hair is thinning. :( I always wondered what was going on.
Avatar n tn m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Avatar m tn My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.
551496 tn?1215614366 I have some spotting and cramps. I am sure it will be a rough one! I did stop the phentermine over the weekend and started back yesterday(Monday). Maybe thats what triggered it....who knows. Being a woman shouldnt be this much stress and hard work!
494656 tn?1209640771 I have used adipex(phentermine) and have had the B12 shots before and it was awesome. That was before I had kids and moved to NC and then to SC where I currently reside. I have had two kids and Im approximately 45 lbs overweight. My daughter is 7 months old and I know they say to give it the same amount of time it took to put it on. Well Im only 2 months shy of that date and I still have 45 lbs to lose.
Avatar f tn We have decrmy Lantus to 10eased units in the even. and 1/2 Amaryl in the a.m. and p.m. I also take Januvia 100mg, and 2000 mg Metformin a day. My A1c has been 6.6 for a few years now, but have moved and have a new Dr. who wanted me to try the Victoza. My BS are running 154 (No lower) to as high as 272. OCCASIONALLY I might have a reading as high as 272 (My B'day celebration had to many sweets) :(. but not this high On a regular basis.
Avatar f tn I've been taking monthly B12 injections for about 2 years, and 37.5 mg phentermine daily for about a month, and I haven't lost any weight at all. The four and a half pounds that I've lost, I attribute to the boot camp that joined two weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Not crazy about Metformin either.I like Victoza cause it stabilizes everything for me and helps me keep my weight down. I don't have as many highs and lows. In your case, something appears to be going really bad with your treatment plan. You may need to step up the meds. as much as I would hate to say it. Check your doc. You are really in the danger zone with such a high FBS.
1401296 tn?1280799533 I went to my first visit at a doctor in Victoria, Texas last Friday. They gave me phentermine 30mg with 5htp combined and Lipo B injectibles to do at home. I 'm trying to figure out if anyone else has tried this method of dieting and is it safe? I'm at the highest weight I've ever been at (257) and very desperate, but also cautious. Please anyone with information out there let me know.
