Avatar f tn Its still an opiod analgesic but they are very different and Hydrocodone carries more of a risk and you should not breast feed while on it. Percocet is Oxycodone.
Avatar f tn Thank you("

299356 tn?1218116164 Born 10/7 via c-section, he is absolutely perfect! After a scary pregnancy, God really came through and he doesn't have anything wrong with him at all, not even as much as a birthmark. I will say that section recovery is very hard, especially the first week, and mostly the first couple days when you've got wires and tubes stuck in uncomfortable places. And the breastfeeding, for me, has been extremely draining and painful.
Avatar f tn Then weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision. And you can always fill the Rx and just hold on to it in case regular Tylenol doesn't help.
Avatar f tn While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.
8778737 tn?1413827423 Babies can not take ibuprofen but I was given it with my pain killers after delivery while breastfeeding. Did they not give you and loratab or Percocet after you delivered or did you run out. Normally that helps.

Avatar f tn THe cord is still pulsing and still is giving baby oxygen and iron and vitamin K and helps baby! The cord should not be cut till it is white and limp, anywhere from 20minutes to and hour after birth. Also not letting the dr pull on the placenta by the cord after birth as the mother's blood clotting issues can be a problem also.

1794671 tn?1338795391 When I was pregnant with my son, I was in so much agony by the end that I was not able to taper off and delivered while taking 3-4 Percocet 10mg a day (prescribed by my OB)...my son had NO withdrawal issues, and my pain was easily managed after by the percocet. But I had an easy vaginal delivery.
Avatar f tn However after resuming the hydro after birth for pain associated with tubal location I was breastfeeding..and I did notice some symptoms in him as I quit taking them. Shaking and irritability. So I would definitely come clean with your doctor. I know its scary. They can be horribly judgemental. But you probably need a taper plan prior to the little one being born. I will be thinking of you....
Avatar f tn Anyone that's already had their baby, what can you take for migraine while breast feeding? Besides Tylenol it's worthless. I've had this migraine since Thursday and I don't want to go to quick care, they'll give me a morphine shot and idk If it's safe while nursing? Any advice is appreciated I know I'm in the wrong place but nobody answers the bf forum...
Avatar f tn I only started taking percocet yesterday, after suffering for 4 days with severe pain. I had tried everything, NSAIDS, hot wet compresses, I went for massages 4 days in a row! I'm going to have to go back and get an MRI, but in the meantime, I need to take the percocets. I just don't know if I should continue taking the subs while I am on the percocet. I want off the subs really bad, but I only got 15 percs and I don't know how long it will take me to get another Dr appt.
Avatar n tn I am 6 weeks pregnant and have kidney problems. The ER Doctor gave me Percocet and Promethazine and I can't remember if I can take them together.
Avatar n tn I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions. I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday. I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?
Avatar f tn I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet. The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.
1816154 tn?1463430018 Have Any of you ladies breastfed and got pregnant after 13 months of breastfeeding without a period? Or did you not get pregnant until you stopped breastfeeding and got a period?
Avatar f tn Percocet can depress your respiratory system and Lorazepam is a sedative. They can be dangerous taken together because of the risk of OD. But if he has been taking them together for awhile and is under a doctors care he should be fine. I was hooked on Percocet and would take Lorazepam sometimes for panic attacks, never had a problem. I was also on anti-depressants. There is a risk. How much of each is he taking?
Avatar f tn My husband and i have recently decided to try and get pregnant and were both very excited however i had hip surgery a year ago and because of this i have extremely bad back pain and take percocet because of it, is it safe to take percocet while trying to conceive, and will it lessen my chances?
Avatar m tn Recent studies have demonstrated the short- and long-term benefits of breastfeeding both for mothers and children. Breastfeeding, especially if exclusive and prolonged, leads to significant reduction in hospitalization rates for gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, and sepsis in the early months of life[18]. The benefits for low-resource countries are even greater because breastfeeding is related to better infant and childhood survival[19].
Avatar m tn i had knee surgery at end of Dec. and am just now coming off the pain pills and am going nuts.
