I might be in the wrong forum as well but I was prescribed lamisil after a positive test for Onychomycosis on my toenails. I was told to take one tablet a day for 3 months. My doctor did check my liver before starting and he called to say everything was normal and to go forth with the treatment.
I've heard so many bad things from hair loss, death, loss of taste and I'm so scared.
Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.
My son has a red ring shaped patch on his face and the doctor prescribed lamisil. He said it's a ringworm. I started applying the product 2 days ago. I have some questions and I hope that you can kindly assist me.
Is it safe for his age? Can he still go to swim while treating it? What about school, shall I cover it with a bandage?

I was wondering if anyone out there really has had a bad health experience with the combination of having Hep B for many years, although my Hep B has been dormant for the past 14 years and has not started to do anything to my liver as of today, and taking presciption strength Lamisil for toe nail fungus. My Dr. put me on the Lamisil for 12 weeks and says that after 6 weeks we will check my blood and liver to see if there is any change in my Hep B.
I went to the doctor and was told I had nail fungus and needed Lamisil. One tablet, once a day for 3 months. They took and ran tests of my blood to test my liver and they said all tests came back normal. They went ahead and said to begin taking the medication. I'm 21 and relatively healthy. I'm afraid to take Lamisil though. I've heard the side effects are horrible. Should I be worried?
It spread to the finger next to it. Doctor put me on lamisil tablets 250 mg. I have been on the medication for 11 days and it does not appear to be helping. The fungus has spread to other parts of my hand and even to the other hand. I called the doctor's office and nurse told me to give it 2 weeks. I can understand taking 2 weeks before seeing positive results but should the fungus be spreading during the first 11 days while on the medication?

About 6wks ago I had sex with someone I barely know. She performed oral (no condom), then intercourse with condom. About a week later I noticed a red itchy patch on my scrotum. I also have pimple like bumps, which have always been there, but now some are itchy on penis and scrotum. I am also itchy on undercarriage and inner thigh. I used Canesten for jock itch for 2 wks with no luck. I'm now on Lamisil but starting to worry.
I have no fever and as far as i can tell no swelling. The bumps are not itchy. I am currently applying Lamisil Spray( terbinfine) hoping it is a yeast infection. Any ideas?

I remember that I was 60 days into Lamisil when the rash first appeared. I ask Doc if Lamisil could have caused the rash and he said "possibly". I am now done with my Lamisil script for a month but the rash is getting worse. It's tiny red spots that are all over my back, buttocks, legs, arms. Hey, could I just self prescribe myself Lamisil? Well, not exactly self prescribe... My father is an 81 year old retired Neurosurgeon and he is saying to just put some Lamisil on it. He said he will go buy some Lam tomorrow and for now gave me this other cream for Athlete's Foot and I put that on but it felt like my nuts were being roasted over an open fire (And it wasn't Christmas like at all). It is called Desenex. Will Lamisil feel like that too?
It seems that I went to a barber and dirty clippers have caused me to devolp a fungus, I have tried all types of shampoos, and lamisil. It seems now to be spreading through out my head. What can I do to get rid of this. I have never had anything like this before and am at my wits end!

I had this problem too, the Doctor told me it was a fungus casused by keeping an area very moist (I sleep with wet hair). I bought lamisil and put it on the spots and they disappeared in a little over a month. But they came back when I stopped using the lamisil...
I used the cream Lamisil on my face before reading the instructions. Lamisil has the ingredient Terbinafine hydrochloride which I thought I needed for a condition I have but before I read the warning I used it. It states not to use on or near the mouth. After use I saw my lips get very white and after a couple of days it seemed like the top thin layer of skin came off: painless. I know its my fault for not reading the box but now my lips get very dry. They turn to an off-white color.
