pataday

Avatar m tn I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....

Avatar n tn I get stringy mucous in my eyes.My doctor gave me patanol but it only worked for 6 days.It has only .01 strenght.Would a stronger strenght relieve my eye symptoms?
Avatar n tn Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure has gone up to 180 over 100. The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds.
Avatar m tn My son was diagnosed with GPC around six months ago. He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. He uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash, in addition to Clearasil pads.
Avatar f tn At the onset of spring, his eyes become red and then in a month , the limbus area in both the eyes get swelled. Last year, he was treated with patanol and then FML for the inflammation. This year, again when FML(Tapered dose starting with 3 times) and Tacroz( 0.03% , once at bedtime) was prescribed. We took a second opinion and Lotepred( tapered dose starting with 4 times/day) was prescribed. My questions are, 1. Which one is the safest among Tacroz, FML and Lotepred for a 5 yr old boy? 2.
Avatar f tn , Last night, after reading so much information here, I happened to remember I had a bottle of Patanol in the medicine cabinet and I used it. I may be guilty of wishful thinking but it seemed like my eye felt dramatically better. I used the Patanol again this morning and so far so good.
Avatar f tn I will also do the drops. I have a prescription for patanol eye drops that I use during the fall hayfever season. It is odd though my eyes are Never this bad during hayfever season!
Avatar n tn My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Avatar n tn Trying to figure out what's going on here. I'm 28 and I've been experiencing ghost visions in my right eye for the better part of the year now, and the glasses don't seem to help much. I'm seeing a real image, and a distorted, ghost image slightly down and to the right of it. It's especially noticeable with a silhouette, like a bird in the sky or a traffic light. Some days it's better and some days it's worse, but at least some distortion is always there.
Avatar f tn Finally I called an ophthamalogist, who had me come in asap (which was about 2 hours after the incident happened). The doctor put in drops in to examine my eye more clearly. He said he couldn't see any particles or evidence of a chemical burn, but the eye looked very irritated and swollen. He put ointment in the eye and gave me a presciprtion for Tobradex--one drop every two hours.
Avatar m tn Redness in the eyes can be due to allergy, dry eyes, a turned in eyelash, foreign body in the eye, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, glaucoma and in case of high blood pressure or coughing, it can be due to hemorrhage under the conjunctiva. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Do consult an eye specialist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn redness in the eyes, a little swelling, some itching. After those few days up until now, he's become highly sensitive to light, his eye lids are very swollen, his eyes are highly irritable he can barely keep them open, and what's worse is that the thin membrane covering his eye balls appears to have 'blistered'. He's gone to the doctor and been prescribed three medications: Tobramycin, Patanol, and Amox-clav.
Avatar m tn I take omega 3-6-9 too though and i am hoping to get punctual plugs put in in December only though cause i can only see the Doctor then. Can you guys please help me i cry like everyday cause of it it hert`s its annoying i am sad.
Avatar n tn Give that kid some ice cream or something with carbs in it. Then see what happens some kids use a lot of energy pack that boy full of carbs.
Avatar n tn To diagnose the underlying cause and origin of vertigo in children, an MRI or CT scan of the brain and skull are usually recommended. In addition, your child also undergo a complete physical and examination by a physician with special focus on a test known as the Dix-Hallpike maneuver which will help to narrow the complication into either nerve damage or brainstem involvement.
454366 tn?1211245301 The med I was given for that has a side effect of osteoporosis in the lumbar in long term use (Synthroid). I ended up with litium toxicity a few years back because diuretics will cause that. As you know caffine is a diuretic (soft drinks) - which most kiddo's I know tend to drink. I would not allow litium to be given to my child; not going through what I have with it. I have a son who is ADHD. I stopped giving him the Concerta that was prescribed to him.
Avatar n tn It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
