Avatar n tn I get stringy mucous in my eyes.My doctor gave me patanol but it only worked for 6 days.It has only .01 strenght.Would a stronger strenght relieve my eye symptoms?
Avatar m tn I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
Avatar n tn The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to use Patanol and Xiloial together. But she said İ should use one of them first, then apply the other. Cuz one of them is gel or whatever. But now i cant remember which one she said that İ should use first. Can you please help me?
Avatar f tn , Last night, after reading so much information here, I happened to remember I had a bottle of Patanol in the medicine cabinet and I used it. I may be guilty of wishful thinking but it seemed like my eye felt dramatically better. I used the Patanol again this morning and so far so good.

Avatar n tn My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar m tn When he was checking me, he diagnosed me with Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis and put me on patanol eye drops - he said I was allergic to the contacts I was wearing and said that the pain I felt on my left eye was because I had a foreign body in that eye and my left eye is more sensitive than before. I explained to him that my right eye was fine and he told me that my right eye actually hurts just the same but it's overshadowed by the pain in my left eye.
1475492 tn?1332884167 She is referring me to a Neuro-Ophth that works with both UWMC and Swedish MS Research. He is the leading MS Neuro-Ophth in the area. This is the Neuro-Ophth I wanted. Yay! (Jens, I suspect I will have that OCT test now!!) I also get to see an ENT for my hearing fluctuations, tinnitis and weird pressure issues....then we follow-up again.
Avatar f tn VEP showed abnormality in my right eye in '06. At that time an ophth. attributed that to the tiniest beginnings of Macular Degen. Another ophth. disputed this cause. I am now being treated for MS, though it's only 'probable.' Another puzzling thing: Had a routine eye exam this past winter, including dilation. My right pupil remained huge four hours after the left had contracted. Could you comment on these events?
1475492 tn?1332884167 This Neuro-Ophth office specializes in a variety of things. They also have the OCT machine and a few other rare test capabilities. The ophthmalogist I saw last December wasn't a Neuro just a regular Ophth. Will they go over my symptoms starting a year and half ago like the Neurologist did? What can I expect? Would this be an acceptable format to mention? (See below symptoms) This is my list of concerns: Fall/Winter 2010: (Right eye) eye pain with movement. Behind the eye/interior.
222135 tn?1236488221 Recently I went through the whole Hopkins route, and that neuro was suspicious of this finding, saying that it would be quite a coincidence for two degenerative processes to be operating at once. He sent me to a Hopkins ophth., not a neuro-ophth., however, who conceded he knew little about the neuro aspects. He too did not find ON (I've had no eye complaints), but said that if there was any macular degen. it was only in the most technical sense, and nothing to cause abnormality in testing.
Avatar m tn My eyes constantly have redness in them, mostly the outsides & the left one is more red than the right. How do I get rid of the redness in my eyes (without powerful medication). I'm already using an anti-allergy drop (Zaditor) which doesn't help THAT much. I've used Patanol before too. How can I get rid of the redness?
Avatar n tn i live in florida and like to sleep with my fan on but i cant because i wake up and my throat is very irritated and dry. please if anyone has a soln. help me. im desperate.
Avatar f tn Tobramycin, Patanol, and Amox-clav. Every time he uses them his eyes sting and have been of very little help for him. Also, after the first few days, he went raking out in his backyard for a couple hours. Could that have caused damage or an irritant to get in his eyes? What do you suggest he do?
Avatar m tn He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. He uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash, in addition to Clearasil pads.
Avatar f tn also with antibiotics he should prescribe strong pain killers and chymotrypsin for early recovery along with sitz bath and povidone iodine soln to clean the ana area.
Cat muscle relaxer Tizanidine 4mg 3x a day as needed, Tramadol 50 mg tablets 3x/day as needed, Ambien 10 mg tabs (2 @ bedtime as needed), latanoprost 0.005% ophth soln 1 drop each eye before bed (glaucoma). I'm sorry this is so long, but I thought maybe some of these meds might add to the problem, though muy doctors and the Internet say no. My feeling is the more professional opinions, the better.
Avatar n tn It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
