Pataday vs zaditor

Common Questions and Answers about Pataday vs zaditor

pataday

Avatar n tn Zaditor is NOT the same as Patanol or Pataday. My doctor told me not to mix and match. NOW AARP Rx is sending me a generic Olopatadine HCL by Rising Labs and I am paying the same price as the Brand Patanol which works great for me. I live in NE NJ..
Avatar f tn Be sure you have available non-steroidal anti-itch eye drops like Pataday, Pazeo, or OTC Zaditor. Steroid eye drops are bad news for long term use: cataracts and glaucoma very likely. I would head to some place like Mayo Clinic for a tertiary world class evaluation of your problem since local medical community doesn't seem to help.
Avatar f tn Discuss with your family MD the use of a oral anti-allergy medication on the weekends, maybe starting Thursday evening. If severe and that doesn't work see an allergist. For you eyes you can use cool or warm compresses and Zaditor the best over the counter eye drop.
Avatar n tn PRED FORTE is way too strong for al conj. Try cool compresses and over the counter Zaditor.
Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar n tn I know this is a really old post, but I recently had this problem as well and FINALLY found a solution for myself! I had an on-going eye twitch that I just couldn't seem to get rid of. My eyes were a bit sore and red, lots of times felt like I had an eye lash stuck in there that I just couldn't get out or like something was constantly irritating them.
Avatar m tn I believed it was pink eye and when i went to the doctor they prescribed Pataday as well as some other drops i would apply 4 times a day. My eyes got better and i did not wear my contacts at all. They said to only put your contacts in after 2 days of my eyes bein completely white . Weeks passed and i did that. Then i noticed my eyes started getting red again. Not itchy or hurting just red. So about 3 weeks later i got checked out again.
Avatar m tn Perhaps you are allergic to the preservatives in most of the antihistamine eyedrops such as Zaditor. Similisan Eye Allergy has a different type of preservative than Zaditor so maybe that's why it works for you. Without knowing whether it's the preservative that's the problem, this may not help but a while back there was a discussion thread about whether preservative-free allergy eye drops were available.
Avatar f tn I would not recommend over the counter allergy drops which "get the red out". They don't last long and need to be taken 4 times a day. OTC Zaditor is an allergy drop which may be taken twice a day. If you wear contact lenses, instill the Zaditor 10-15 minutes before you insert the contacts in the AM, and the second dose after you remove the lenses at night. There are eyeglasses called Panoptyx which look like regular glasses, but which form a soft seal around the lids.
Avatar f tn I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue. I took a second opinion from a diff. Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal.
Avatar f tn Okay thank you!
Avatar f tn Over the counter in USA you can use Zaditor or Alway allergy eye drops, can also use cold packs or cold compresses. See a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn I was wondering how long did it take for your swelling to go down?! Also my doctor told me to use Zaditor. I have and saw some change but then all of a sudden it looks like my GPC got worse or my eyelids did. I bought a brand new pair of glasses. I am not going back to contacts. I hope you can see my post to tell me when your "normal looking eyelids" returned.
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar m tn If you are not feverish and in pain you could try cold compresses and oral antihistamines and maybe some allergy eye drops like Zaditor or Visine allergy eye formula.
Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn t tell if it has added to already existing discomfort. Have beenn Restasis, Alrex , Pataday and now Muro ointment. I see a well known Corneaologist and he wants me to have the Amniotic Membrane Transplant especially now that I have developed the eye cysts. I don't know what to do -- wld like other opinions on this procedure and its history on long term resolution of Conjunctivochalsis. Also, are my cornea issues related to the extended use of Restasis? Alrex & Pataday?
19931670 tn?1486845153 Unfortunately even someone your age can acquire a new problem with allergies they haven't had before. Had you considered going to an allergist to get tested to try to find out what you might be allergic to, to figure out if its possible to avoid it? Although often eye doctors focus on topical drops to relieve eye allergy symptoms, had you tried allergy pills?
Avatar m tn You can try cold compresses and over the counter eye drops Zaditor or Ophcon If that doesn't take care of the problem you should see an Eye MD ophthalmologist or optometrist.
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar f tn Thank you, I’ll ask about it GPV. is zaditor an alternative to opticrom? I’ve been using zaditor for a few weeks now. I suspected dry eyes too but drops (only using the vials) don’t seem to reduce any redness. If the main culprit of the red is due to dry eyes and it’s been somewhat chronic, is it possible for the red to go down? Or only possible to help prevent it from getting worse?
1193018 tn?1264804352 Did you sleep somewhere different last night? new sheets? different face or hair products? Zaditor is a good over the counter itching medication. Do not ever using visine or murine to get the red out.
