Common Questions and Answers about Pataday stye

pataday

Avatar f tn For seven months I have had redness on my left eye, right eye completely unaffected. I was initially diagnosed with an eye infection and blepharitis. Also on my inner lower eyelid of that eye, I have a stye. It's small, but it's yellow and has not drained. It has existed the entire time. Going back to the initial diagnosis of infection--that having been treated, the redness didn't go away. I have been given the gamut of eye drops to make the redness go away. 1.
Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar n tn Zaditor is NOT the same as Patanol or Pataday. My doctor told me not to mix and match. NOW AARP Rx is sending me a generic Olopatadine HCL by Rising Labs and I am paying the same price as the Brand Patanol which works great for me. I live in NE NJ..
Avatar m tn I believed it was pink eye and when i went to the doctor they prescribed Pataday as well as some other drops i would apply 4 times a day. My eyes got better and i did not wear my contacts at all. They said to only put your contacts in after 2 days of my eyes bein completely white . Weeks passed and i did that. Then i noticed my eyes started getting red again. Not itchy or hurting just red. So about 3 weeks later i got checked out again.
Panda I just got a stye.
Avatar n tn Then, two weeks ago, I developed an internal stye or a chalazion on the inside of the lid, right under where the external stye is. This internal stye is healing nicely so far. Much smaller than it was 2 weeks ago. My main concern is the external stye that remains active and won't heal. Guess it's time for opthamologist number three? After researching online, now I'm worried maybe I have underlying cancer? Yikes! I'm a 42 yo female. Thanks for any info.
Avatar n tn Yes, I've had my stye for 6 months now, I've beed trying to get rid of it. I went to an eye doctor, he said it was a "pimple"... that sounds like BS to me. He also prescribed me TobraDex Stye Ointment, but I've seen NO results out of it. I also tried the warm compress, but my stye is too old and solid to react to it.
5999971 tn?1378138559 I googled stye and they are on the lids. This is on the outer white part of my left eyeball. Can I get a stye on my eyeball?
Avatar f tn I went to the eye doc and he said its a stye and to take care of it using warm towel on your lower lid. I had that stye like thing before the marinara sauce incident happened. The swelling went away but the stye like thing is still there and it doesnt pain at all even when I touch it. Is it something else?
Avatar f tn Would primary ocular herpes be more likely to present itself as a stye vs looking more like a cold sore/ blister? No pain, swollen lid or tearing… just a stye and blurry eye… for weeks?
Avatar f tn I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue. I took a second opinion from a diff. Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal.
Avatar f tn Hi, For the past 10 days or so, I have what I think is a stye IN the lower eyelid of my left eye. It looks like a red bump, but with no apparent white or yellow head. I googled some images and looks pretty much like a chalazion stye. I've been putting ointment on it at night (called STYE) but have not really done any warm/hot compresses with it. Is there something else that can be done to get rid of this thing, or am I going to the Eye doctor for medication? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Its not itchy, its not a stye, the first aider thinks its not a stye. Some mornings it sore but its a solid mass in my eye lid.
Avatar n tn After a couple days of warm compresses, I finally went to my general doctor, he looked in a said it was a stye. Prescribed an ointment which is combination cortisone and antibiotic. I started it yesterday. So this is day two, and things aren't really better. It's purplish on my eyelid and still feels like I have an eyelash or something in it, and the socket still hurts. Is this normal for a stye or should I have had relief by now?
Avatar f tn Did he call it a Hordeolum? Better known as a Stye. A stye is an eyelash follicle or eyelid oil gland that becomes clogged with oil, debris, or bacteria. Severe ones may have a yellow spot in the center. The basic treatment is warm compresses to the stye for 10 minutes x 4/day, also antibiotic ointment. Let the stye drain on its own, do not squeeze it or you could spread the infection. Also avoid any eye makeup and contact lenses until this has cleared up.
Avatar f tn and in all honesty, how long will it take for this internal stye to "disappear" because I hear it will not rupture on its own like an external stye, so is there anything I can do to speed up the process of it disappearing/rupturing/going down?
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar f tn Please, really only looking for someone with a medical background to answer this question, since I've already confronted the varying info out there on the web... I have what I think is a stye on the lower lid of my right eye. There's a pain and a swelling, though I can't see anything that looks like an exterior pimple or spot, per se. I'm going to the doctor on Monday...but my question is, how contagious are styes, and in what manner?
Avatar m tn Hi Dr. Oyakawa, If it is not a "stye" do you know what it might be?
Avatar n tn I'm pretty sure I have a stye in my left lower eyelid inside my eye but I also wear contacts. Unfortunately my glasses are broken and I have horrible vision so I have to wear my contacts for work. Will this cause a lot of damage? what should I do?
