Common Questions and Answers about Pataday and breastfeeding

pataday

Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar n tn m an allergic person, and I live in an area with plenty of pollen and no winter. Daily application of Pataday has been a godsend for me.
Avatar n tn I went to an opthamologist and and eye surgeon and no one has a cure. The glands in the inner corner of my eyes right below my brows have a little tiny round hard objects too. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks you in advance.
Avatar n tn Patanol is the oldest formulation of prescription olopatadine and there are newer formulations pataday and Pazeo. They require prescription.
Avatar m tn But this time when i saw the doctor he said i had some conjunctivitis in the eyelids and that i would just continue on Pataday and some more drops for at least a month. I did tht and when i came in for my checkup the doctor said my eyes only looked dry. He perscribed more Pataday and some eye drops and told me in about a week i could resume with contacts that were dailys . A week after has passed and my eyes are getting red.
Avatar f tn I visited an eye expert (I wear contacts regulary) Post my retina and cornea examination, the eye expert said its coz of an allergy and prescribed me FMLT. After applying FMLT for 3 days, My both eyes turned blood shot and I started experiencing pain, burning sensation on washing eyes and discharge of white sticky substance. I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue.
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn t tell if it has added to already existing discomfort. Have beenn Restasis, Alrex , Pataday and now Muro ointment. I see a well known Corneaologist and he wants me to have the Amniotic Membrane Transplant especially now that I have developed the eye cysts. I don't know what to do -- wld like other opinions on this procedure and its history on long term resolution of Conjunctivochalsis. Also, are my cornea issues related to the extended use of Restasis? Alrex & Pataday?
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar n tn I have a white discharge sometimes and they are dry as can be and burn. Should I go back to the eye doc and start the drop process again. With my history of AMD I am afraid not to go. I know however chances are its not related.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC and recently ended the use of steroid drops. Ever since I've stoped the steroid drops, I've woken up with crusty, glued eyes. Could the lingering GPC be causing this? I've been doing artificial tears multiples times a day and Pataday drops 2x a day. I have a follow up appointment soon, I'm thinking about trying to move it up if this is something serious.
Avatar f tn The itching is already become unbearable. I have run allergy tests with my allergist and dermatologist and have kept away from all things I am allergic to (which are many) but there has been no change in these reactions. I have now added a puffy, itchy lower lip to the problem. I do not know what is causing this and need help.
Avatar f tn restasis is the definitive treatment for moderate or severe dry eyes but it takes 5-6 months to work and often strings when starting out. My wife and I both take restasis and have for several years.
Avatar n tn try clariton oral, nasal crom and allaway(eyes) or just try the clariton and alaway first and if needed add the nasalceom. I have severe allergies to cats and dogs, pollen etc. and it works for me.
Avatar n tn He gave me 2 different drops and said we could try these to see if it helped or if the symptoms returned after I stopped using them, there were Pataday and Xibrom. Like most I didn't ask the questions I should have. How do you feel about using these for this problem? Will they effect my AMD?
Avatar f tn I returned to my optician, she diagnosed seasonal allergies. I have NEVER had seasonal allergies before and I am 45. She prescribed Pataday. The drops have helped, but I still have symptoms, especially when I work on my computer. I returned to my optician for lens adjustments twice. I am still having a lot of difficulty. My optician says it has nothing to do with my new glasses, but it seems too coincidental. Help!
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.
Avatar f tn I use Pataday every day, and it helps with the itchy and burning symptoms. I think Pataday is more than just an anti-histamine, but I'm not sure, however, it does help, but it won't CURE it. Something that flares up from stuff due to the environment is definitely, in my book, an allergy.
Avatar m tn First off, I'd like to say this is my first post to this forum, and I think the reason my prior post was removed was that I didn't post it in the "ask a doctor" section but rather in the general community section. Also, I mentioned the names of specific dr doing these procedures and I realize that may violate this forum policies. I apologize for this and flagged my own post, so please don't consider this a duplicate.
Avatar f tn I am at my wits end. I have been getting eye infection after eye infection for over a year. At first I went to my regular doctor, then my optometrist and now an ophthalmologist. At first they were every 3-4 months, then monthly, and now they are occurring two weeks apart. Ophthalmologist thought it was my contacts but I've been wearing them for decades with no problems. I switched to dailys anyway and got an infection a week later.
1816154 tn?1463430018 Have Any of you ladies breastfed and got pregnant after 13 months of breastfeeding without a period? Or did you not get pregnant until you stopped breastfeeding and got a period?
Avatar m tn Recent studies have demonstrated the short- and long-term benefits of breastfeeding both for mothers and children. Breastfeeding, especially if exclusive and prolonged, leads to significant reduction in hospitalization rates for gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, and sepsis in the early months of life[18]. The benefits for low-resource countries are even greater because breastfeeding is related to better infant and childhood survival[19].
Avatar f tn ) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days. After many occurences with just a refilled prescription, I sought a second opinion.
