Pataday allergy eye drops

Common Questions and Answers about Pataday allergy eye drops

pataday

Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar m tn He perscribed more Pataday and some eye drops and told me in about a week i could resume with contacts that were dailys . A week after has passed and my eyes are getting red. Please help because i hate wearing my glasses and want to return to my contacts and this is not working .
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar f tn My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies. My eyes tear so much that I have to wear sun glasses all the time or else people think I am crying. It's becoming very annoying.
Avatar f tn Be sure you have available non-steroidal anti-itch eye drops like Pataday, Pazeo, or OTC Zaditor. Steroid eye drops are bad news for long term use: cataracts and glaucoma very likely. I would head to some place like Mayo Clinic for a tertiary world class evaluation of your problem since local medical community doesn't seem to help.
Avatar f tn Pazeo is an allergy eye drop that is new and is meant to replace Pataday which is the #1 prescription allergy eye drops. restasis is the definitive treatment for moderate or severe dry eyes but it takes 5-6 months to work and often strings when starting out. My wife and I both take restasis and have for several years.
Avatar f tn I visited an eye expert (I wear contacts regulary) Post my retina and cornea examination, the eye expert said its coz of an allergy and prescribed me FMLT. After applying FMLT for 3 days, My both eyes turned blood shot and I started experiencing pain, burning sensation on washing eyes and discharge of white sticky substance. I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue.
Avatar n tn Neither is specific for dry eyes. pataday is a once/day allergy eye drop and Xibrom is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory. If your problems are truely dry eyes you would do better with frequent artifical tears, a lubricating gel at bedtime, oral fish oil (2-4 enteric coated/day) and if moderate or severe then a 6 month trial of Restasis.
Avatar f tn This was then happening every few months or so and it could be one eye or the other. Doctors verdict, allergy, just more eye drops, nasal spray and tablets. We were on holidays a fortnight ago with an early morning flight, later that day I could feel almost a stiffness developing in my left eyelid, by the next morning the eye was up! Few days later , same week, we had a bit of a sand storm, thought I'd got a littel sand in my right eye, sure enough next morning right eye was up!
Avatar f tn My left eye is very swollen and it appears to be a blocked tear duck, However I have been to see two Opthamologist, eye doctor, and Allergy doctor, and General Medicine doctor. No one has been able to figure this one out. It is at its worse i the Morning when I wake up. The eye lid is full of fluid, which looks like my tears . It drains slowly throughout the day and fills back up over night. I've taken antibiotics, Steroid drops, ointments . Nothing has worked.
Avatar f tn I use Visine Allergy eye drops--they work better than the drops from the eye doctor.
Avatar n tn 2 weeks ago and he gave me Pataday drops 1x a day and eye wetting drops. Said to come back in 2 weeks, which i did yesterday. Still the same. He looked in the eye, did those yellow drops, looked at it with that eye machine where you put your chin on, said saw no scratchs or debris. Said it could be irritation or allergy. Here's a little background on my eyes as well...I have dry eyes, high eye pressure (between 19-26 depending on the month) and very thick corneas (around 624)..
Avatar n tn Try Zaditor eye drops over the counter in USA.
Avatar f tn Every few days I use SteriLid in the shower to make sure my eyes and lashes are completely clean, and I never use gel eye drops anymore, only preservative free tear drops for moisturizing if needed. And a good old fashioned clean cloth soaked with cold water on the eyes in the morning helps the gunk if I get it, too.
Avatar f tn m told I have no signs of infection, ocular surface is good, Schirmer test shows mild dry eye with use of punctal plugs, small sign of allergy. I tried a short course of steriod drops which relieved my symptoms, but they returned as soon as I stopped. Restasis for three months has offered no improvement. Pataday and Acular provide no benefit either. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I would greatly appreciate any direction or ideas.
19931670 tn?1486845153 Had you considered going to an allergist to get tested to try to find out what you might be allergic to, to figure out if its possible to avoid it? Although often eye doctors focus on topical drops to relieve eye allergy symptoms, had you tried allergy pills?
Avatar n tn I had lasik back in 02 & never had a problem--had white eyes & never dry. Just used OTC generic artificial tears here & there. Then in 5/08, I develop. red eyes & had a prominent vessel in my left eye. Eye dr. said it was strain from studying for my MBA and should go away on its own. He took eye tests and put me on restasis. The redness went away but the prominent vessel stayed. It's still there to this day & the eye dr.
Avatar n tn I spoke with one of the doctors here the other day about a dry eye problem. I went to my eye doc and vision was 20/25 in both eyes with glasses of course and that is even with my wet, now dry AMD. GOOD I thought He said my eyes were very dry and it looked like the redness, itchy, fuzzy vision, and dryness was from allergies. He gave me 2 different drops and said we could try these to see if it helped or if the symptoms returned after I stopped using them, there were Pataday and Xibrom.
Avatar n tn Look into allergy drops like Pataday, frequent use of preservative free artificial tears, and possibly punctal plugs and restasis drops long term. Part of your problem may also be from using Opcon (a vasoconstrictor) for too long. You can get a lot of rebound redness when you stop it. I've taken posts from people who said it tooks months and months to be able to get off the stuff without lots of redness problems. Consider getting a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.
Avatar f tn And she referred me to a opthomologist and neurologist. She assumed it was allergies to begin with and prescibed him pataday eye drops in the mean time. I noticed his blinking stopped completely a couple of days after using the drops. I still however took him to neurologist and opthmologist. Both said he was fine. Thk goodness.
Avatar f tn t have the right power), and I stopped wearing contacts, and used allergy drops, and then was on a few weeks of anti-inflammatory steroid drops after surgery and they still didn't go away completely. By then I was back at my OD for followups and was just given allergy drops. I rarely notice the bumps now, but when my eyes are dry and allergies impacting them I can feel them when I blink.
Avatar n tn I have chronic eyelid margin swelling in the outside corners of both of my eyes and it extends 2 inches beyond the eye lids towards the cheek. There is pain, inflamation, and itching in the outside corners of both eyes for the past several months mostly in the skin area. Recently, my eyes have also started to burn and when they burn severely, my eye lashes fall. My eyes are always tired and I've lost the fresh look.
