oxycodone vs lortab

I have been taking Oxycodone 30mg for almost 3 years. Started on 5mg and my dr increased over the years. I have two hernitated discs in my back & my pain at time was so awful. I finally received a epidural and starting to feel better. Saw my dr today and he stopped my oxycodone and put me on Butrans patch 20mg. It has not been 24 hrs yet and I am starting to get ill. Will this get better? He told me I would be fine, but I feel super sick.

Can anyone tell me how many Lortab 10's it would take to equal 18mgs Suboxone. I Know we're not comparing apples to apples but can someone get close???

I used to pride myself in my knowledge of pills and their contents and markings lol. A percocet or endocet is Oxycodone IR (instant release) or SR (sustained release). Lortab or more commonly referred to as Vicodin or Norco is Hydrocodone. They both contain aceitomeniphen which is tylenol.

I have been on lortab 10mg for 3 yrs 4x a day due to migraines, I had sinus surgery last year, since then I have been tapering off, I'm now down to 2x a day, I would like to know if I stop cold turkey would I have withdraw symptoms?

I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab. Although they are all narcotics, vicodin and lortab are lesser strength than the oxy's and morphine.

Hi everyone, Last time I logged in has been a long time ago when I was going through Valium withdrawal. I have been on Lortab for 3 years now and I asked the doctor the other day if it could cause my mood swings, anger and frustration. He said he had never heard any one complain of that before and decided to change my medication from Lortab to Oxycodone. I didn't really want that but he said it was a real low dose short lasting one so I said okay.

i talked to a pharmacist about oxycodone vs other opiates (because this is the second time I've been switched to oxy and it makes me feel like HELL! She told me it's the only opiate that binds to the brain receptors in a specific way-that's what makes it so crazy addictive to some and so crazy horrible for others. Just a quick correction...Percocet is oxycodone with Acetaminophen, and Percodan is Oxycodone with Aspirin, not Tylenol. There are other, less common combinations, like Vicoprofen, which would be Hydrocodone with Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol (Acetaminophen). Vicodin, Norco, Lortab are all Hydrocodone. Hey there Hope ur feelin better. Just wanted to say I have tried and failed CT and weaning so many times....Most recently I tried weaning w/suboxone. I can't wean. If you have self control then maybe you can? I have went CT from ultram hydro's and xanax successfully before. It's tough but doable. Get things in order. Ur responsibilities catch up around the house @ wk. Buy some things you'll need like crackers and juices, Imodium,aleve.

Went from4-5 7.5-lortab, and 1/4 of a 30mg oxycodone a day to no lortab and a small sliver of a oxycodone every 12-to 16 hours. Any advice would be greatly appr.

But regardless, depending on the test that is given, yes Tylenol 4 will show differently than oxycodone, and lortabs, because while they are all similar, oxycodone is oxycodone, lortabs are hydrocodone and Tylenol 4 is codeine. I hope that helps at least, good luck to you.

I have been reading multiple medical suggestions as far as drugs to help reduce withdrawal symptoms such as clonidine, anti-anxiety drugs, and suboxene (sp?). I have some mild sedatives that I have been taking to help. Today I had a friend offer me one of her Tylox (oxycodone and tylenol) to take, and at first I immediately rejected it because I'm obviously trying to STOP opioids...

-) So-since your doctor is not wanting you to have tylenol then your will probably be getting Oxycodone HCL (the opiate without tylenol). Oxycodone APAP is the stuff with tylenol. Either way, be careful and use it for the shortest time possible. Oxy WD's can be a bit worse than hydrocodone WD's (so people say-and I agree). Taper yourself down from the higher amounts of Oxy as you find yourself needing less of the meds to control the pain.

I took 2-3 lortab a day then started weaning off over a week or two and now I'm on day 4 no pills. Any idea how much longer I can expect the headache, dry mouth and insomnia???

t have to take as much, this way you could stop taking the tramadol, I would still taper off the tramadol depending on how much you are taking, It is a totaly differant drug than lortab or oxycodone, and best to taper off with a doctors supervision, dont just stop taking tramadol.

Maybe oxycodone? plain oxycodone not oxycontin... it is stronger but it may work better with the fentanyl...

First, is your son taking the lortab as prescribed and ONLY as prescribed? If so, that's not addiction. It's physical dependence which is a normal result of opiate therapy. If he is misusing it by taking more than prescribed, running out early, supplementing with street drugs or taking them with alcohol to get a better buzz then he has a problem. True addiction is more of a mental problem even though there are physical aspects to it as well.

I guess it depends on what kind of drug screen it is, but I would think that if both are opiates, thats what would show up, I dont think they show up seperate.

The oxy seemed to escalate quite rapidly vs increases needed when I was on hydromorph products. Which is stronger? Which is slower to build up tolerence to? Is it different for different people? I stopped taking oxy on my own, & basically brought them to the dr. & said I wasn't taking these. I had had a very very strange week of no sleeping, confusion etc. .. My husband & I figured it out to be the addition of lyrica.
