Common Questions and Answers about Ortho tri-cyclen missed pill

Avatar f tn Ok, So im on my second pack of birthcontrol and I missed the three blue pills before Id hit the green pills. On the third day of the missed pill I was spotting which was when I was supposed to start anyway, but it was super light, so I took a pregnancy test, suprisingly it turned out negative. And So later that night my bf came in me, he knew all about everything, the next day I took two pills, & Ive been cramping since ive took those pills, and now Im feeling loss of appetite and nausea.
Avatar f tn I've been taking ortho tri cyclen lo for 6 months havent missed a pill or anything, I have not gotten my period, and I have taken the all but the last 4 green pills of this month.
Avatar f tn I am one day late on my period and I am on Ortho tri-cyclen lo. My period usually comes every 28 days. I have been on this pill for about 8 months now and I have only missed three dark blue pills but that was last month and I've had my period since then. I spotted two days before my period and then had my period. I had protected sex four days before my period was due but I'm late so now I am very stressed out.

Avatar f tn Hello I have been on the pill (ortho tri-cyclen lo) for about 6 months now. The last pack i was on i skipped days and took pills incorrectly. I missed the last 3 active pills of my pack. Actually havent taken them correctly the pack before either but, not as bad as this months pack was. I am now 9 days late for my period to start. I have taken home pregnancy test and have not gotten a positive result. Being pregnant is not a problem for me anymore.
Avatar f tn I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?
Avatar n tn I am very worried. This is my 3rd month on the pill (ortho tri-cyclen lo). I have never had spotting before, and I always take my pill at the same time every morning. However for the past week and a half I didn't take the pill at exactly the same time every morning, but I would at least in the same 3-hour time slot. Last Tuesday (12/20) I missed my pill, so I took it that same night when I remembered. The same day, my doctor prescribed me tetracyclin, an antibiotic...
Avatar f tn Last Thursday, I was in the last week of my Ortho Tri Cyclen active pills and one went down the sink! I took the next day's pill immediately and continued to take the pills in the pack. For Saturday's last active pill, I took one from another pack completely so I didn't miss one. Did I do the right thing? Would taking the pill from another pack and taking them technically out of order increase my chances of pregnancy? I started the next pack on schedule and had unprotected sex the next day.
Avatar f tn I'm also on ortho tri cyclen low. I was also a retard not thinking cause of me being on the pill I put a tampon in after sex. I can feel myself ovulating and today is day 7 after sex.
Avatar n tn im on ortho tri cyclen lo and i have never missed a pill, but i rarely take it at the same time every day. my boyfriend never uses a condomn but he always pulls out to be safe....im not supposed to get my period for about another 2 weeks but recently ive been getting headaches a lot and there was a tiny bit of pink discharge when in underwear....am i being paranoid or is there a good possibilty im pregnant???
Avatar f tn I missed 7 days (all of white active pills).. I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 4 yrs now and lately I've debating on wanting another child and been lazy on taking my pills (probably cause I intend to want to get preggy) Anyway,July 12 was my 1st day of my last period and I never take the green/reminder pills which are the 7 pills of the pack.. Supposed to start a new pack on the 15 of July but didn't take any til this past Sunday July 21st..
Avatar n tn if it keeps happening, your doc may have to change your pill to something with a different blend of hormones. Lower dose treatments like Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo are well known for that type of spotting.
Avatar n tn i missed a pill a couple of weeks ago and i have had a periid sine then but now im late and i take ortho tri cyclen. me and my boyfriend always use condoms should i be worried?
Avatar f tn I think that the reason that you are having these symptoms are from the overload of the pill that you are on and taking packs back to back. I used to take ortho tri cyclen and I got pregnant on it due to using antibiotics but especially if you have been on the pill for quite a while it is unlikely that you are pregnant but it can happen. I would say that you would be safe to go ahead an take another test just to be safe. Best of luck!
525501 tn?1212435817 i was on Ortho tri cylclen/Ortho tri cyclen Lo and YAZ off and on for 7 years and just went off all BC in January and still have not had a period. I went to the doctor but all she could say was that my ovaries are lying dormant from not being used for 7 years and now ill more than likely need to take a progesterone pill to jump start my cycle. Im just like you i wish they would have informed me of some of these issues before i went on the pill because i might not have done it!
Avatar f tn I am a 25 years old. I am taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. I got finished taking Flagyl on the 12th day of the pills. I had unprotected sex on the 14th day of the pills. Plus I missed one pill on the 11th of the pills. What are my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn I don't know about anyone else, but I have had such a difficult time trying to find the right birth control pill. I need one that doesn't make me tired, cause weight gain, or acne. It seems like every pill I try-either it helps my acne and makes me hungry and sooooo...... tired. I am also on Vyvanse for ADHD and that decreases my appetite.
172826 tn?1423426556 I have painful periods anyway, but the first year after giving birth each time has been rough on me. Worse off the pill, I even tried a few months back to go off and see. I was rewarded with over 3 weeks of heavy bleeding and clots that pushed my tampons out. Even on the pill I have really bad cramping. After about a year from the birth of my first son it got better, I'm hoping it will do the same for me again, still waiting.
173145 tn?1301704450 thanks for the reply. I am on ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and i am on the sugar pills the last week in the pack.
Avatar n tn I missed the first three days of a new pack of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. On the fourth day I took 2 pills, then 2 pills on the fifth day, like the directions said. Since then I have taken one pill a day, exactly on schedule, for the next three days. I had unprotected sex before that fourth day, and have had unprotected sex since starting the pills again (on days 6 and 7). I understand there is a risk of becoming pregnant if no backup method is used within those first seven days.
Avatar f tn Certain birth control pills such as Yasmin and Ortho Tri-Cyclen block the action of androgens and prevent acne. You have not "delayed teenage acne" by taking the pill, but you have prevented it from being a problem. The majority of people will have outgrown their tendancy for acne at your age. It is normal to get acne during the first trimester of pregnancy, due to hormone levels.
1035252 tn?1427231433 Mini pill you have to be more careful with your doses and have to take it the exact same time everyday or else it's less effective. Regular birth control you can miss a dose once and double up and be fine. I am on ortho tri cyclen because I am not breastfeeding and it has helped with my heavy periods. I would for sure talk to your doc about it.
Avatar n tn I recently had a D&C. I went on the pill Ortho tri-cyclen afterward. I've followed my Drs instructions. I got a lot of "break through" bleeding the first month, but just figured it was related to the D&C. This is my second month on the pill. I have no bleeding "yeh". BUT I was very crampy and I do experience ovulation pain. I shook it off and we went on vacation. Well needless to say there was some vacation sex.
