Opana oxymorphone patients

Common Questions and Answers about Opana oxymorphone patients

opana

Avatar m tn But given my recent medication change to Opana ER, I have found information all across the internet from other chronic pain patients that are being switched from Oxycontin to Opana ER due to their doctor's unwillingness to continue to prescribe the medication due to bad press and associated fear from DEA prosecution. Opana ER is the strongest opioid medication in pill form and the next tier up is the Fentanyl patch based on pharmacology.
Avatar n tn Not sure if you have tried Opana (oxymorphone) yet but based on pharmacology, it is a little stronger than Dilaudid (hydromorphone) mg to mg. I am on 30 mg of Opana ER twice a day. They do have Opana in immediate release form. Opana has a long half life, even in immediate release form, such that 6 hour dosing works extremely well for most patients versus the 4 hour dosing of oxycodone. Oxymorphone is the metabolite of oxycodone...
Avatar m tn I dont see much about it in these posts but I have been taking oxymorphone(OPANA) for FBS.I have been addicted to Meth cocaine and alcohol in the past but have been free from those chains for 10 years. My disease has resurfaced with this Opana though.I have cut my intake from 20 mg a day to 10 mg a day for the past three days.I have been blessed to avoid the terrible sickness of opiate withdrawl that I went through last year with this **** when I went CT off of it.
1444483 tn?1468516489 OPANA ER (oxymorphone hydrochloride extended release) contains oxymorphone, which is a morphine-like opioid agonist and a Schedule II controlled substance, with an abuse liability similar to other opioid analgesics." The symptoms you are experiencing is probably your system adjusting to the new, stronger opiate. Once your body adjusts, these symptoms should greatly reduce if not cease. I wish you well and hope that your new meds will be effective in controlling your pain.
Avatar f tn If the new oxycontin OP worked very well on your pain, I highly recommend talking to your doctor about Opana ER. It is oxymorphone and it is strongest pain medication available in pill form based on pharmacology. The oxycodone in Oxycontin is metabolized by the liver into oxymorphone. Therefore, the Opana ER would be a drug that is very comparable to the Oxycontin, only twice as strong.
687729 tn?1397992727 I am moving to Knoxville from Michigan and I am addicted to Opana ER. There is only one doctor in Knoxville who prescribes narcotics and Opana isn't helping with my chronic pain, anyway (I have had five back surgeries). I tried detoxing by switching to Dilaudid, taking smaller and smaller doses... Then, an injury in Physical Therapy put me back on my full Opana dosage. I've tried using Kratom for the pain and it keeps me awake. Can the fast-acting Oxymorphone be cut in half?
Avatar n tn So you were talking 60mg of Oxycontin (Oxycodone) and going by a Opioid (Narcotic) analgesic converter you would need 30mg of Opana (Oxymorphone) to get the same pain releif and most likley the same to cover the withdrawl. You are now taking 10mg of Opana where 30mgs is what the converter says you need. You need to talk to your Dr. about dosage and don't take more than your Dr wrote the Opana for until he or she OKs it.
Avatar f tn Did they check off oxymorphone (opana) or morphine on the lab slip? Oxymorphone (Opana) is a semi-synthetic opioid, unlike morphine which is an opiate. If there was an error is the test request, that could explain the false negative. Btw, Opana is available in generic form- oxymorphone hcl ER by globabal pharmaceuticals. I know because I take it currently.
Avatar f tn I am prescribed opana we & endcocet. My test came back positive for Oxy & Opi & my dr. Said I failed, said he found Vicodin which I took from an old RX, wouldn't it all show up the same? If I don't take the vicodin, what should show up!
Avatar m tn THE GENERIC NAME FOR OPANA IS OXYMOPHONE. OXYMORPHONE IS GIVEN ORALLY IN EITHER ER (EXTENDED RELEASE), OR IR (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) IT IS VERY HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. MOST ABUSERS CRUSH AND SNORT IT LIKE OC USERS. SOME ALSO INJECT IT. I WAS AN ADDICT FOR EIGHT YEARS. AND A FUNCTIONING ONE AT THAT. BUT ONCE I ESCALATED TO OPANA, WITHIN THREE MONTHS I WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF IT. I COULD NO LONGER DO MY JOB OR SUPPORT MY WIFE AND CHILD IN ANY OTHER WAY.
Avatar f tn I have been using opana iv for months now. I want to withdrawl. How can I wean myself off without going to rehab?
Avatar f tn Opana (oxymorphone) will show up on any standard, 8-panel or 10-panel drug screen, FOR SURE. Snorting is dangerous, as Vicki said above me... tell your friend to stop.
Avatar f tn Opana is oxymorphone and is quite similar to morphine....you can dump this, especially with some help through detox - wont be fun or easy - but is doable....
Avatar f tn I agree that your pharmacist has all the information that you need regarding your new prescription for the dilaudid. Dilaudid is hydromorphone. Opana is oxymorphone. Dilaudid is slightly weaker than the Opana so you may notice that you need more medication to achieve the same amount of pain relief. I would also contact your doctor and explain to him what happened and get it fixed. I hope the short acting medications are helpful for your pain with less side effects.
Avatar f tn I've just been switched from Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hrs to Oxymorphone 10mg every 12hrs. I feel way worse (pain) & was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalence is between the 2. I have a feeling I've just been decreased in pain relief. My dr & the pharmacist told me to wait a few days to "feel it's working" & in the meantime I'm in excruciating pain. Can anyone help with what I can do here? Btw...
Avatar m tn i was told by my doctor that the opana would test positive only for oxymorphone, and not oxycode. I have NEVER abused ANY drugs, and have a low tolerance for most of these medications, how can i prove that there was a mistake?
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been prescribed opana er 20 mg i take it q 12hrs but it only lasts 8 hrs and for bt pain i take norco 10 -325mg q6 hrs. that only lasts apprx. 1.
Avatar f tn I am going through serious withdrawal. I suffer chronic back and hip pain and my doctor can't seem to find the source of the pain. So I started to medicate myself. I started off with oxy 30s. then I started dating a guy who also is in chronic pain and when I would start getting "sick" from not being able to get the 30s he gave he some of his oxymorphone, opana, and I don't want to continue taking his meds anymore.
