Common Questions and Answers about Ondansetron tab 8mg

zofran

Avatar n tn I told my dr and he gave me this Ondansetron.... Its the smallest pill i put half under my tonge and it taste like oranges. I have not had a problem with vomitting since. I call it the miracle pill!!
Avatar f tn I never had hep A, but have considerable experience with nausea and vomiting, While on treatment for hep c these symptoms were almost continuous. Ondansetron 8mg ODT (orally disolving tablets) worked well and gaviscon, that I learned would stop my retching immediately. One morning I was standing at the counter trying to figure out how I was going to get down 20 grams of fat so I could take my pills and began to retch.
Avatar n tn Is it okay to take Zofran 8mg (Ondansetron) anti-nausia nedication with my Hydrocodone-hom 5mg caugh syrup?
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome! I'm sorry, I don't know anything about Sub doctors, but I wanted to send you support! I am from Las Vegas as well! Good luck and take care!
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
Avatar f tn I took Ondansetron. They're generic for Zofran.. They were 8mg dissolvable tablets & they worked great ! I never had any morning sickness but on the days I didn't feel good, these really helped.
Avatar f tn During your next doctors appointment, ask for Zofran. The generic (ondansetron hcl) is usually really cheap, and it's a miracle. I have not just morning sickness, but all day, 24/7 sickness annnnd I work in an ER where smells are abundant. I have spoken with not only my OB, but several ER docs and they all swear by Zofran. The usual prescription is 4mg, but you can take up to 8mg at a time.
Avatar f tn If after 8 hours of taking the 2nd tab he still has cravings, then take a 3rd tab. Continue to adjust your intake within a 24 hour period until his cravings have stopped. Once his cravings have stopped and he does not have any withdrawal effects, then you are now on the money and need to just stay there. Again, add to your dosage if he experiences cravings and try to make all of your adjustments within a 24 hour period. The Sub has a very long shelf life in the body.
Avatar f tn During this time, I was prescribed 8mg of ondansetron (generic) to take every 8 hrs, then tapering off to 1/day over the course of ten weeks. I had a small return at about 28w, but I had backup pills to take just in case it got bad again. You and your ob should really talk about a prescription, if you haven't already. Checking into the hospital twice for hyperemesis is a sign that the usual tricks (sea bands, constantly snacking, lemon water, ginger tea, etc.) isn't working.
950277 tn?1247274551 I have been on a full 8mg tablet of suboxone for over a year. I recently have been trying to cut down. It was easy dropping to a 1/3rd of a tabled then half. I have been down to a 1/4 pill a day for over 2 months. However, I cant seem to get any lower. I get horrible withdrawls. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
1979985 tn?1326235281 I am on 8mg of Zofran every 8 hours and that works for me, but some people are on other antinausea meds. Good luck.
Avatar m tn You jumped off to high a dose. Your clinic Dr needs to get more training on Sub because he was completely wrong. That is a big problem with sub Dr's is that they don't know enough about sub. They only do so many hours of training and they are certified to prescribe it. Because sub is not a full opiate they think there is no withdrawals. Sub is a big money maker for many Dr's and they love putting patients on them without being 100% with them.
Avatar f tn Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too. Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Suboxone is in 8mg and 2mg It appears you have 8mg, that would mean that you would have to break the tab into 1/4 and then 1/8 to get 3 mg. It sounds like you need to draw a line in the sand and start from scratch with what your doctor has prescribed and not alter from it, otherwise you will continue to ride the same roller coaster. Celexa is an antidepressant and could help with the anxiety. I don't know if you have other issues you are dealing with, but take one at a time.
Avatar n tn today i started on sub taking one 8mg tab twice a day. I was taking hydros 10/325 about 20-25 a day. I've been on the hydros for about 2 years due to back pain and back surgery. I have to admit the sub's took away all the withdrawls symptoms away, but i don't want to become addicted to these sub's. I plan on taking them for about 7 days with each day taking less and less and cutting the pills in half.
Avatar f tn I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.
Avatar f tn I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
1476285 tn?1287337784 I am interested in info from anyone doing the new 3-drug regime w/ interferon, ribavirin and telaprevir who are also taking suboxone. I am currently on suboxone: 3/5's to 1/2 tab per day. I wasn't put on it for drug abuse but I was on pain meds (lortab & fentenayl patch) for chronic pain. I went on suboxone to get off the pain mgmt regime.
1916673 tn?1420233270 Hi Tony, I personally used the following about a year ago, as prescribed by a Doctor. Found that it was RAPID and LONG LASTING and 100% effective. Haven't done any research or asked a Vet. All I know is, that it is EFFECTIVE and long lasting. The chemical name(s):: 'ONDANSETRON ODT'...4mg or 'ZOFRAN ODT'....4mg (Mfg.
1011271 tn?1250897777 Find a doctor and tell him or her what you've posted...sounds as if you have insomnia or an anxiety disorder or some type [GAD,PANIC DISORDER,ETC...] OR u may not because what your describing are normal symtoms of commong off sub. but your doc. will be the one to determine that..anyhow I'm on xanax 1mg 4 times daily and it helps strictly with the sleeping issue of the sub. withdrawals and the anxiety of course but thats about it....
