Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar f tn What brand of Omega 3's are you using? I have been taking just the Kroger brand Omega 3's with fish oil concentrate. Should I maybe look at the health food store for some that are especially for pregnancy? Thanks!

871965 tn?1241833146 re covered. Prescription and OTC prenatal vitamins are very comparable in vitamin/nutrient dosage, just be sure your folic acid is 1mg. I am on a prescription prenatal called PreNexa. It contains DHA and a stool softener. Most OTC prenatals do not contain these additives, you would have to purchase seperately. You can call an OB office to consult a prenatal nurse to see what prenatal vitamins they recommend, or ask your local pharmacist.
1655526 tn?1330655629 On Omega-3 supplements, I notice a significant increase in PVCs as well as slight increase in general twitchiness or anxiety. Yeah, it's a sample size of one and I'm the only observer, but that's the way it seems to me. However, some scientists have observed problems in giving patients these supplements: http://www.examiner.
Avatar m tn The B-vitamins are water-soluble (dissolvable in water) and are easily removed from the body in urine. They are generally considered safe, with little to no side-effects. Omega 3s will help with headaches or other side effects from Lexapro too. Best wishes!
Avatar f tn Can i take regular folic acid amd omega 3 vitamins while im pregnant? Should i wait until my doctor reccommends something? What should i do, im trying to make sure my baby gets everything it needs.

314276 tn?1235081223 I'm off to take some fish oil now! I have actually had a thinning hair issue since I was about 19, I cover it up well - most people wouldn't know 'cos I use some good products (Couvre from Spencer Forrest their website is under the name toppik I think but you can google your way to it) and it's just on the top of my head - thank God for hair spray. Now that I realize I have a thyroid problem I'm wondering if the hair problem is related.
Avatar f tn My doc recommends a prenatal vitamin for everyone and omega 3 if u have less than 3 servings of fish each week.
Avatar f tn but after reading the label one bottle has dha, epa and omega 3 fatty acids, while the other bottle has all the other stuff like vitamins c, d e, folic acid, iron, copper etc. does this mean take both pills each day? have you seen this before? can you overdose?
Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
Avatar f tn Nature Made are what I'm taking. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong...Also, my doctor told me that taking Omega 3 fish oil is very good for baby as well.
Avatar n tn I take and and have read Omega 3 (fish oil) can help MS.
Avatar f tn I switched mine. I was taking one called Elivit, made me feel horrible! It was a 1 a day vitamin Switched to a lower dose of iron in a blackmores brand and have 1 in am and 1 pm.
Avatar f tn When pregnant, I took a prenatal, an Omega 3, and folic acid (extra from what was in the prenatal). Iron is also a good idea, if the prenatal doesn't have 100% of the daily recommended dose.
