1756970 tn?1314376733 t tried the liquid version does it taste nice? I know some people have issues with the taste and getting a fishy after taste, can say i have that problem with the stuff i am on. Just wondering about yours? Where are you buying it from? You maybe able to ask them for more information about the mercury.
Avatar f tn I have blockage and am taking so many pills that this sounded good to cut the number of pills I take. I bought 3 bottles of the Omega Q plus and will start taking when I run out of my other (about 2 weeks) will let you know what I come up with. Has anyone thought of having Dr. Oz check into Dr. Sinarta's claims?
198942 tn?1236316304 We all need the essential fatty acids to stay healthy, and oils that are high in Omega 3 oils, we get enough Omega 6 oils in our diets through eggs and such. The omega 3 is best obtained from fish, and I take a fish oil supplement for my heart and general brain health, it is in liquid form and not too bad once you get used to it. Flax seed oil is another good oil, it sort of has a "nutty" taste.
Avatar m tn Quite a complex topic this but at the same time an interesting one. Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
Avatar n tn i was just diagnosed with pcos with type two diabetes if you could take 1000mg of fish oil with omega-3 with no after fishy taste it might help yoou it certainly wont hurt you and it has multiple uses look it up, uses, alzheimers, depression, anxiety, pain, elevated cholesterol and more research it for your self its wonderful for me!
Avatar m tn Fish oil pills are an excellent way to raise your HDL and lower LDL due to the high content of the Omege 3 fatty acids that they contain. Anything that has a high Omega 3 content will have this effect, such as flax seed. Most commercial eggs are commonly high in Omega 6 fatty acids due to the fact that they are raised in cages and eat the seeds of plants that have a high Omega 6 content. Omega 6 fatty acids have the effect of raising LDL levels in the blood.
9214378 tn?1408881584 Egg yolks contain about three times the amount of omega-6 to omega-3, so I have always said if you are going to give eggs, give three egg whites to one egg yolk, so the balance becomes stable and beneficial. Egg whites have (obviously) far more omega-3, but they are also high in cholesterol, so feeding too much is not good for a dog's heart or cirulatory system. A much better source of omega-3 is salmon oil, as this has many beneficial properties and is easy to digest.
Avatar f tn My shitzu dog is 7 years old and has kidney stones and allergies. He also has high cholesterol(Cushings' disease suspected). He weighs about 10 lbs. Is it safe for me to give him omega 3 capsules and what should be the dosage? Thank you, Mrs.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if Omega-3 helps heart arrythmias? It worked for me, but not for my 30 yr old daughter who suffers from PVCs. They can make life hellish but for the most part are benign - but definitely a quality of life issue. I would say avoid all cardiac stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, and believe it or not - anger and sentimental thoughts can cause arrythmias. You can deliver bad hormones into your own body that stimulate your heart by having scary, or sentimental thoughts.
667937 tn?1227758698 I was diagnosed bipolar when i was 14 i am now 35 i was on medications but stopped them in December taking other means of herbs and stuff (5-HTP fish oil omega 3) and others. I stopped the fish oil about a little over a week ago because of belching a fishy taste. Could that be why i am becoming depressed or do you think it could be something else? I have had no episodes of depression the whole time i have been on herbals. Until now after stopping the fish oil.
561451 tn?1257476350 Eggs....I want to eat them every day! I usually do! I buy the ones that are vegetarian fed hens...no genetically modified stuff...no antibiotics or hormones given to the hens...they have 100mg of Omega 3's...lower cholesterol etc. My doctor said it is fine and that eggs...especially the yolks are excellent sources of choline which is essential for brain function and development.
Avatar f tn It's the omega 3 in it that are good for you, the recommended dose is already in your prenatals so don't take anything extra without consulting your dr first.
Avatar n tn Ohh never mind here I googled my self just for a quick find for you Its long!! Soft cheeses It's best to avoid cheeses such as Brie, goat, Camembert, feta, queso blanco, and blue or other veined varieties. Why? They may be unpasteurized and contaminated with listeria -- bacteria that can trigger food poisoning.
Avatar f tn My prenatal have everything But omega 3 when do I start taking it? I'm 18 weeks.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
1655526 tn?1330655629 I know that omega 3 is really supposed to be good for the heart, but I get palps after I take them for 3 days, especially krill oil. I've read in this forum that others have also had adverse reactions to taking this supplement. So I wanted to put this poll out to see how omega 3 affects you. The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time.
Avatar n tn Did you guys solved your problem? I have raised taste buds (in the tip of the tongue) for more than 3 months now.
Avatar f tn You should be taking omega 3 in any case. Statins, by lowering cholesterol, also interfere with the absorption of fat soluble nutrients, which of course includes omega 3. The most important for the heart is EFA, which is found in largest amounts in fish oil, but flax and hemp oil are also very high in omega 3 oils. But omega 3 oils don't do the same thing as statins. Statins lower LDL cholesterol, the bad kind, whereas omega 3 oils provide the good kind of cholesterol, HDL.
Avatar f tn Lyndsey, what they mean about eggs is that raw eggs "can" have a bacteria that is potentially harmful for our growing fetus. But eat well cooked eggs is just fine.
