794091 tn?1264986339 What is your doctor thinking? Is this an HIV Specialist? Are you multi drug resistant? You say your combo is Combivir : which is AZT and 3TC Truvada : which is Viread and Emtriva (which is almost identical to 3TC and should not be taken together) Viread : which is already in the Truvada! Prezista : which is a PI that MUST be taken with Norvir which you aren't on!
Avatar n tn Initial counts were 423 viral load (not thousands - just 423) but T cell was 398. Immediately went undetectable. Put on Fortavase, Combivir, Norvir. Soon switched to just Fortavase 8 bid, combivir 1 bid. over time decreased to just 1 fortavase bid and 1 combivir bid. Been up in 700 - 900 T cell the whole time. No one can explain to me why numbers were odd to begin with. Also now that fortavase is off market my doc wants to switch me to Invirase, Combivir and Norvir.
Avatar m tn The only side effects ill have in the soft stool from time to time, the tingling feeling in my hands and feet from the norvir this too is from time to time, they say the norvir also has gastro effects, I know when it will kill someone....lol.... As of last month my t-cells were 945. I have been positive for 5 years on meds for 4years...
Avatar n tn I started taking PEP on august 4th. I take truvada norvir and reyataz. I went to get a rapid antibody hiv test today and was negative. Should I still be worried and stressed? I haven't slept much since this happened.
Avatar n tn I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.
Avatar n tn I started PEP 2 hrs later (truvada, norvir, raltegravir, and preszita), my initial results are negative. I do not know the viral load of the patient yet, i can only pray that it is low. I know odds are 0.3% but that doesnt settle my fears, i am young and want to live a happy healthy life with KIDS! DR. please tell me if you have honstly heard of any cases like mine that have converted. I am in awe and feel like my life is totally over and ruined.
Avatar m tn Handsfield, I have started with antiretroviral therapy in April this year after my cd4+ further declined to 480 and viral load remained very high at 800,000 even after 6 months after exposure. I am currently on combination of Truvada, Prezista and Norvir which I take regularly every 24 hours. I feel much better than before meds, from time to time I have soar throat, nothing serious though. I didnt notice any significant side effects except temporary diarrhoea.
4529703 tn?1355961841 I was diagnosed with HIV in 2006, I was 26 years......I was at 129CD4 count.......When I started feeling sick I started treatment. I got all the way up to almost 500CD4 count....I was undetectable for 5 years until now docs were like wow! I went into the hospital back in Feb of this year for some kidney infection that the doctors was confounded about how I got and my CD4 was 2something and viral load 500+ AFTER 5 YEARS UNDETECTABLE!. Kidneys got clear & I left....
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor and they tested me. I was negative. They gave me some medicine called truvada norvir and reyataz. They told me to come back August 28. The woman also told me she was undetectable and said her viral load is extremely low. I went with her to her doctor and her doctor did confirm that. What are the chances I have it? I am very scared to death right now.

Avatar f tn I have burning in the bottoms of my feet, as well as neuropathy in feet and hands. The neuropathy is caused by years of untreated pernicious anemia, so if you haven't been tested for B12 deficiency, you should ask your doctor to do so. I'm not sure about the burning in the bottoms of my feet. I don't think it's thyroid related, but at this point, I can't say.
Avatar f tn I am 2 chemos away from finishing my round of six and have developed peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet. I am on 300mg Neurontin 3 x a day and it still seems to be getting worse. The pain keeps me from walking long distances and I cannot hang my hands down; I have to keep my elbows bent. I have also tried acupuncture. I use warmth to alleviate the pain but it is only a temporary relief. Any ideas or experiences?

Avatar n tn Hi, Benign neuropathy is usually the treatable form of neuropathy. It occurs mainly due to diabetes or B12 deficiency. It can be controlled by maintaining the sugar levels in the normal range and by B12 supplementation.
Avatar n tn I have type 2 and have developed severe neuropathy throughout my body. My weight is normal I'm 45 years old. This last year has been very hard because I'm falling a lot and it has advanced to a point where it's very difficult to walk at all. I don't have insurance so getting the proper care is hard. I recently admitted to myself that I'm no longer able to work and I'm in the process of filing for disability. The question I have is this.
Avatar n tn I am a T1 dibetic x 39 years. I also have neuropathy (focal, peripheral and autonomic). I have not tried Lyrica. I am using neurontin. These drugs take a while to build up in your body. To tell you the truth, I take a cocktail of medicines...for the pain I use neurontin 300-1,200mg. depending on the time of day, motrin 800mg, and nortryptiline as needed when the pain gets really bad. The latter is an antideppresant that is also used for pain management.
Avatar n tn Male friend had brain surgery. He was left with chronic venous insufficiency and neuropathy. He can't walk because of this. What can he do to stop the severe burining sensation on both of his legs?
