Progesterone is needed to oppose oestrogen in men. If this goes on for long enough a man (yes, and a woman) can become oestrogen Dominant (too much oestrogen relative to Testosterone). By lowering stress and thus.. reducing cortisol, my progesterone levels should return to normal levels. If that is the case then why wouldn't it counter the extra oestrogen in my body automatically and remove the effects of oestrogen dominance?

hi everyone my periods are irregular so in nov2010 i went to the doctor and she advice me take progylution tablet on 5th day of my periods and i had that tablet for two months and also my period become regular now my cycle is 30 days but in this month {feb} again my periods are 5 day later why this happen so? can any one can help me?

Anyway she prescribed an oestrogen cream, but I checked the containdications and breastfeeding is contraindicated. I am still breastfeeding and not ready to stop so I can't take that. Anyway, why prescribe an oestrogen cream for something that is just a nervous condition. Does this sound right? I am not feeling good about all of this. I had to ask for the pathology results myself, and thats when they realised endo was found in the fallopian tubes, and I have been on oestrogen only HRT for 5 months. They then told me that oestrogen feeds endo and can turn it cancerous, but I need progesterone to help shed the endo???????? My uterus was removed 8 yrs ago, so obviously this endo has been hanging on for a long time. My GP should finally receive all results this week, 6 months late.

Depo shot and mini pill and Implanon are progesterone only, so they are great for women who can't take anything with oestrogen for whatever reason. However they are no good if you have a history of depression. I have been much happier and much more myself while pregnant because I have been off the mini pill. I want to know the likelihood of this being a reccurance of endo (as my surgeon was positive that I would not have reccurance) and the chance that this could be a different issue such as ME as there are links between endo and Chronic fatigue.
