Avatar f tn i have to take blood pressure medication daily - i take at least three different types. i take atenolol (100 mg) and norvasc ( 5 mg) in the morning and clonodine (.4 mg) three times daily. my doctors have told me that if my bottom number reaches 100 to go to er, i also have nitroglycerin to take when my heart feels "funky". you start out with 1 pill; wait 5 minutes, if not better then take another one; wait 5 minutes take another one and call 911. hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Tolerance occurs when a medicine loses its effectiveness and may not seem to work as well. A doctor may prescribe a daily schedule of using nitroglycerin 12 to 18 hours on and 6 to 12 hours off to prevent the development of tolerance.
511019 tn?1214337323 Has your husband been seen by a doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions? When I first started having panic attacks, my therapist sent me to get a physical to rule out any other medical problems. If he is healthy otherwise, there usually isn't a reason to call 911. But, if you get very worried, and are very concerned for his health, then calling 911 won't hurt.
Avatar f tn I had to Google it because that's the first time hearing of it.
Avatar f tn While we are waiting for her cardiologist appointment, I could use some guidance on when to call 911 and when to wait it out. Would appreciate any help. Things like: Call when heart rate is above x for longer than y minutes. Call when blood oxygen falls below x percent.
Avatar f tn Sounds like preterm labor. That's happened to me at 32 weeks. Had to go to the hospital and got a couple shots to stop labor and for pain. Held baby girl in until 38+3. Maybe you should just go to the er to be safe.
572651 tn?1530999357 I have nitroquik - sublingual nitroglycerin - to take if I have angina pains - this morning about 5 am I was miserable and couldn't tell if it was heart or ms symptoms and I took one. As always it stopped my discomfort, depressed my already low blood pressure and I went to sleep for about 3 hours. I've used nitroquik for the past 3 months or so and it always stops the pain and gives me relief within minutes.
Avatar n tn call 911 or other emergency services. it is hard to speculate what to do without knowing what is in tummy, action depends upon history and symptoms. if you have specific drugs in mind, search the net.
220090 tn?1379167187 All Americans experienced 911 as a tragic event. For me, it was very personal; NY is my city - I was born and raised in it and my company had an office in the World Traded center in both towers; one on the 55 floor and one on the 85th floor. I was at a meeting in Connecticut when the news was announced. I went to my PC to see what was happening and then the second plane hit. I was so stunned that I left the meeting without saying a word and went home.
Avatar f tn So I layed down on my side but Qhen I tried to pull myself up to get more comfortable Idk how but I pulled my self up and pushed down on my belly. Then go pain im kinda freaking out but the baby hasnt moved much after itand im starting to feel pressure on my my stomach towards the top by my breast. Should everything be fine or should I go to the er to make sure everything is fine. Not leaking or bleeding.
Avatar f tn If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once. When used for long periods of time without a break, some people develop a physical need to continue taking Nitroglycerin Patch. This is known as physical DEPENDENCE. Do not suddenly stop taking Nitroglycerin Patch without your doctor's approval.
3064373 tn?1340732004 I also spend every waking hour making sure my cell is fully charged w/full service. Also, the urge to call 911 (against my better judgement) is almost an instinct. I genuinely feel, that if I began to feel faint or go black, that I could dial 9-1-1; that's how quick I think I'll be to the draw. I've turned it into a reflex: "If something serious comes up, I'll have seconds to get word out! Boo-yah!" I also only live minutes away from a dispatch station.
Avatar f tn Two years ago I had the first time in my life a couple of Angina incidents which came back this summer with a vengence. Last months I had to call 911 three times, was in the hospital 2 times because of it. I underwent all tests there are for Angina cramps, even had an EKG done while cramping.
Avatar f tn You have no friends or anyone who could take you to the hospital?
Avatar n tn The procedure for you would be do NOTHING and to find medical professionals that can do something, i.e. physician, nurse or call 911. A Medical Assistant is NOT a licensed medical professional and surely should NOT be handling this kind of situation.
Avatar n tn t panic, just keep an eye on her. If she is unconscious then you need to call 911 or take her to the ER. You never know what a person's body can take when they are an addict because tolerance is part of the disease. However 20mg is an extremely high dose and if she doesn't need immediate help, she definately has a drug problem because a tolerance like that doesn't develop over night. Good luck! I hope she is ok!
545978 tn?1255432467 DO not wait.....call 911 right this second....
Avatar f tn Yea I believe you can call 911 regardless if your phone is disconnected. Are you OK now?
1301089 tn?1290666571 They had always taught him if he was in trouble to either find a policeman or if able call 911. Well, he was sent to his room for a time out when he was about 10 or so, and guess what he did...lol. Imagine my friends surprise when a police car, ambulance and firetruck all came screeching up to the house, sirens and lights blazing..ha. Poor little gaffer...but he did have a point. He was in trouble. Fortunately the police laughed it off and no charges were laid.
Avatar m tn After that i hve taken some medicines for a period of 6 months. this happend after my fathers sudden death due to MI, when i was under deep depressiona dn fear for aperiod of 4 months .i.e from july to Nov 77.After that till this time ther is no problem and i have never visited a Cardiologist also.
