* nausea
* vomiting
* loss of appetite

I have just got to 3 days on nitrofurantoin for uti, dizziness and headache got too bad as side effects. And now I'm losing my hearing too, no wax. It's inside and pain all over my face. Still dizzy, hearing been getting worse all day. Very quick. It's definitely the nitrofurantoin. I wondered as it says it can swell the salivary glands, cause sore throats and constant cold if it's to do with thst or a part of the nerve damage side effect? Did it resolve for you?

Hi , Gabapin (Gabapentin also called Neurontin) is a neurologic drug probably given for the tingling. But the Nitrofurantoin has tingling as a less common side affect. So it will probably go away when you stop the antibiotic. If it is working she can stay on it until it is finished then the tingling will go away and she can get off the Gabapin too. Gabapin causes sleepiness or tireness as well.
I understand your concern. Nitrofurantoin can indeed result to neuropathies as one of its side effects. This can happen anytime during or post treatment. It varies in severity and very uncommonly may become irreversible. I suggest that you have this looked at by your doctor or a neurologist to assess for other causes. Tests may be in order such as nerve conduction velocity or electromyography to pinpoint the cause. Also report to your doctor any changes in symptoms or progression.
I went to a urolgist and he put me on nitrofurantoin-macro. He also scoped by penis to the bladder and found it to be clean on the inside. Still no change. Do I have a virus that will go away or is there something else out there that is worse.?
my symptoms are mild to medium discomfort in the penis, no discharge, a dull but persistent low pain in the scrotum.
I have not had sex with anyone since this encounter so I am not passing it to another partner.

Recently I have started several different medications:
-omeprazol for gastritis
-nitrofurantoin for a uti
-adderall for adhd, but i've taken it in the past and never had headaches or nausea
My brief online research indicates that omeprazol can cause headaches, but my headaches/nausea started after I began nitrofurantoin. I haven't seen anything indicating that headaches are a common side effect, but nausea is.
m in my first trimester and I have a urinary track infection, and a doctor at a hospital prescribed me Nitrofurantoin 100 mg , 4 times a day, of course the side effects are worse in me, I guess because of my pregnancy, but I need to know if it's really safe for my baby, I'm not having any problems in my pregnancy, and I don't have any spotting, thanks God. I have been searching on google and it is very hard to find good info or good clinical significance. Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction or what I need to do next?

I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin I've taken 3 tablets but I was just curious on if it was okay to take and I've just read up that people have lost their babies days after taking the tablets?!

9 days ago Nitrofurantoin (200g a day for 5 days) was taken and daily birth control (Qlaira). Both are known to decrease levels of haptoglobin but nothing about complete depletion.
Could this be an extended effect from Nitrofurantoin? When should the test be repeated ?
I have recently been feeling unwell and have recurring UTI’s and been on Nitrofurantoin. I also take levothyroxine for an under active thyroid.
I recently had a LFT and my ALT was 934. My GGT was 140 and bilirubin 37.
I am having an urgent scan tomorrow but the drs seem at a loss as to what is causing this? Any advice or help?
