nexium

Avatar f tn There is always a risk for side effects, interactions or allergic reactions, so please make sure both meds are suitable for you by asking a physician.
Avatar f tn One of the known side effects of Nexium (Esomeprazole Magnesium) is jerking muscle movements so i'd say if he isn't experiencing a side effect of the Nexium, because he's stressed and experiencing weird dreams it's probably just normal sleep induced myoclonic muscle twitches as he's going in and out of the sleep fazes. "Sleep myoclonus occurs during the initial phases of sleep, especially at the moment of dropping off to sleep.
Avatar f tn Just be aware of a few interactions. The Nexium (esomeprazole) can increase the effects of the diazepam. Taking diazepam with a sedating antihistamine can cause increased sedation, dizziness, and confusion. It was difficult to find what interacts with the Kanna. I would just use caution because it too can make you sedated. It is ok to take the valerian if you do not take the diazepam (again, only when going to sleep because it is sedating).
Avatar f tn Nexium is pretty harmless drug with very few negative side effects. Thousands of hepatitis C patients take it every day to control heartburn. Just having hepatitis C is not a contraindication for using Nexium. I would start with 20 mg and see how it works.
Avatar m tn Prilosec, Nexium Side Effects: Acid Reflux Medication Heart Attack Class Action Lawsuit Investigation A recent study found that proton pump inhibitor heartburn treatments such as Nexium, Prilosec and Prevacid may be linked to an increased risk of heart attack, heart failure or sudden cardiac death.
Avatar n tn My doc prescribed me 40mg nexium for the next month to see if it helps with my reflux. He told me to take it with food since the stomach cells need to be active (food activates them) for most benefit. That is in complete contradiction to the label, which says to take it 1hr before eating. I have taken other PPIs and they also suggest the 1hr before eating rule.
Avatar m tn I think insurance companies are dropping many drugs because acceptable generic equivalents are available, as is the case with Nexium (Esomeprazole). The generic version of the drug will work very well for you. I'm betting you will be just fine. I wonder if you have considered discussing tapering off/discontinuing Nexium/Esomeprazole and see what happens. After having the Nissen Fundoplication surgery I was able to discontinue taking the drug and have been symptom free.
Avatar f tn I started taking over-the-counter Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium 20mg/capsule) a few days ago and may be taking them for at least the next 2 weeks. My blood magnesium levels were low a few weeks ago and they just got back to normal right before I started taking the Nexium. I've been taking Naxium in the evening (4-5pm) at least an hour before having dinner.
Avatar f tn t want to keep the baby,,, I just took nexium 20mg esomeprazole.....I was wondering if it could be one of the remedies in abortion..... please help!

Avatar m tn I've had GERD for a few years and I take 40mg of Nexium (Esomeprazole) every day. I'd like to try magic (Psilocybin) mushrooms. It it possible that they would aggravate my reflux or interact negatively with the Nexium? I want to see brand new colors and feel like I'm one with the universe but I also want to be kind to my esophagus. Thanks!
Avatar f tn ) Unfortunately, Reglan is notorious for its side effects. If these are too much for you (and they sound like they are), ask the doctor to switch you to Domperidone. The drug is NOT available in the US, but is first-line treatment for GP pretty much all over the world. You can find Canadian pharmacies which sell to the US (prescription required) through PharmacyChecker.com, which is recommended by the AARP.
1806721 tn?1554333407 Hi...both meds are PPI's and work the same...getting off either needs to be done with the help of ur Dr, u need to step off slowly ot avoid the rebound effect of this med. PPI's stop production of the acids, when u stop taking the meds, it flips the on switch and many times our system makes too much all at once and we feel the same as we did b4....this is y it is very important to slowly step off these meds and know u may have some GERD until ur body adjusts.
Avatar n tn I have been on Aciphex 20 since 2007, with instant results. After changing Health Ins. , I am told by the current insurer that they won't cover Aciphex. I must go thru a step program, starting with Nexium, which my Doctor dosed at 40 mg instead of 20 mg, saying Nexium didn't come in 20 and the 40mg of Nexium is comparable to the 20 mg Aciphex . Questions: (1) Is the above true? (2) Are the side effects the same, and (3) What's the difference between the two.
709686 tn?1277432159 Esomeprazole (Nexium) is slightly different than omeprazole (Prilosec). But your body could react the same way. You could try a small amount and see. There are some combo otc drugs by Rolaids and others that have an antacid and famotidine (acid reducer). Those probably don't work as well.
Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.
Avatar f tn It mostly works for my GERD - without it it is unbearable. The problem I have is the terrible side effects. They are all gastrointestinal. I am miserable all the time. I feel like my food takes FOREVER to digest and move through my system! I feel like when I eat the food just "sits" there for such a long time. I feel constipated, but can "go" most days, though not completely. I have gained about 8 pounds, and most days I look like I'm pregnant!
Avatar f tn I was put on Esomeprazole 20 but i had very bad side effects especially dizziness and body weakness... I went back to the doctor who changed the medication to Lansoprazole 30mg but still i feel like there is no improvement on the dizziness and body weakness. I am also having heart palpitations which i think are from anxiety. Other side effects i am having include tingling sensation in arms and legs, chest tightness, headaches, sore throat and cough with sputum...
Avatar n tn Those sharp shooting pain could be part of the usual side effects associated with Taxol. The pain, as well as the bloated feeling, may be relieved by taking oral dexamethasone (4mg twice a day for 3 days after the chemotherapy). A drug such as Omeprazole (Losec) or Esomeprazole (Nexium) may also help relieve the burning abdominal pain.
Avatar m tn Your symtoms does not sound very alarming at the moment, so I would try the natural remedies, etc. and if you don't feel an improvement or get worrying symptoms, then you can request an Endoscopy to be done, in-office or out-patient basis. With the Endoscopy your GI Doc can check for Hiatal Hernia, Barrets or Gastritis or narrowing, etc. All the best, and let me know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I started taking Pradaxa less thatn a montha ago and am taking the same dosage and noticed the same heartburn and was prescribed Nexium for it. That is one of the side effects. I really did not experience the fatigue but I do have hip pain but I think that is due to skipping the gym for a couple of weeks. I'd call the Doc and let them know what is up.
Avatar f tn although the prefixes in pantoprozole(protonix) and esomeprazole magnesium (nexium) are different, its the suffixes that you need to look at. They are the main make-up of these drugs.
