6) without chemo (possibly related to the synthroid she has been taking since 2010?). By round 2 her neutro dropped to .6 so they gave her Neupogen and stopped capecitabine for 4 days. They gave her a longer-acting version of Neupogen before round 3 and lowered the dose of oxa to 90%. Before round 4 her neutro was back down at .9. They gave her more Neupogen and started round 4 today.
I am supposed to receive Neupogen tomorrow. Did my peg shot this morning. I'm sure I will get instructions with the med but it's good to get some input from those who are currently treating with it. Are we supposed to wait 24 hrs after the peg shot to inject Neup? Should I inject more slowly than I do with Peg? Docs office told me to reduce peg today to 135 mcg but I didn't (me not listen - what a revelation) because I knew I was getting the Neup tomorrow.
The most common are injectable meds Neupogen and Neulasta. Neulasta is the pegylated version of Neupogen. Referred to as colony stimulating factors they are both effective in raising the absolute neutrophil count, which is the usually the focus component of the white cell count. Generally speaking, these meds will temporarily raise the counts and then the treament meds effects will usually repeat. So, the use of Neup and Neu will probably not be one-time events.
This shows the dosing information for neupogen while on hcv tx. According to this information the neupogen should be stopped or taken less often if the anc is over 1000. Mine was at 6500 after five injections, and my doc tells me to keep taking the neupogen.

The Hematologist said he was going to start him on Neupogen is anyone else taking this and is it working for them. He also said that he may need a transfusion , which is freaking my husband out because that is how we suspect he contracted the Hep c orignally (back in the 80s). I told him that they screen the blood much differently now then they did back then , but he is still freaking out. Anyone who is taling Neupogen please let me know if it is helping.
My husband was on daily Infergen injections with increased dose of Riba in fall of 2010. It was a very, very tough treatment. He had the two log drop initially, but didn't get to a low enough VL to continue at 12 weeks. I think his VL was something like 1000 when he had to stop. Infergen is a different variety of Interferon, but it didn't clear the virus for him. The side effects were much worse than SOC and triple therapy (so far), because of the daily injections.
A few weeks later I went to a different doctor on 7/6/2010 and HSV1 - negative HSV2igg 1.00. I decided to wait a few months and on 9/28/2010 took another test with the results HSV1- negative and HSV2igg 1.99. All of the igm tests were negative, even though I know there useless I figured i'd share that with you. I have never had any symptoms still to this day.
I read that anything under a 3.5 should get a confirmatory test done, either biokit or western blot.
I know I'm not loosing it. To send a message to someone on a discussion, you have to copy a code. If you can't get the code correct, you don't get through. Again, I don't understand how to read or put the code down correctly.
